Where as the RNC convention Robert Dorman (Future Republican Congressmen) who urged the security to let them in described it as this... "It was not as big a disturbance as the movie showed, but it was a disturbance," says Mr. Dornan. "They were screaming. The guards came down and politely pulled their chairs backward. [They] put them out peaceably." A United Press International report of the incident describes the scene this way: "After about five minutes, security agents wheeled them in protesting out a side door. I went out and watched him and the other two congratulating one another, bragging about what they'd accomplished."
Indeed. So, tell me…do you extend those same sentiments in regards to those souls that protested at the Capitol Jan. 6th? Or is that somehow “different”…?
What I never understood about Vietnam was the whole Nixon angle. Nixon was responsible for winding down the war and removing troops, while it was LBJ who escalated the situation to engage the enemy directly, yet Nixon seems to be the face of Vietnam's failures?
While, Nixon did pull almost all the ground troops out of Vietnam, he was still bombing the shit out of Laos and Cambodia. It took the Case-Church Amendment to stop that in June of 1973. And he still kept airstrikes going until until August of '73.
