30% more a year later. Incredible sp500 and thus index growth. Return to the mean also dictates a period of lower return has to come to balance it all out to 10% yearly average which is superb for long term

A little late, but good point. I haven't though about it that way. I do think we will have bad times at some point. The returns will be lower and probably even negative for some time. The big question is when... and since I don't know when, I just dollar cost average as long as I can.

@@sidestreams6078 100% and i do the same. Profit as its going well. Keep investing when blood is on the streets. And profit in long term. OR long term will be nuclear war so doesnt matter for anybody anyway. So win win

4:52 Isn't TER something else from the broker's fees? I understand that there is a list of ETFs on Degiro for which it has no charges (including that Vanguard S&P500 ETF), but each ETF has its own separate fees you can read about in the KIID. I understand the TER of 0.07 means your return will be approximately that of the S&P 500 index minus 0.07% of the ETF's fees, excluding Degiro's fees, excluding currency differences.. correct me if I'm wrong. (BTW the fund you're showing doesn't show up for me, maybe for the reasons other commenters mention here, I'm a Polish user too)

I think you are right.. and the video has a mistake. TER is the fee by the ETF/index. And then on top of that you might have fees by a broker.
Like you said Degiro has some ETFs that there is no degiro fees applied.
Thanks for spotting, I need to keep that in mind for future videos.

Are we able to purchase the S&P500 ETF with leverage in Europe? For example, the SSO ETF?

    What if I don't see Vanguard S&P 500?
if I type "vanguard", all I see it's only: American Vanguard Corp

Degiro has made a ETF cut due to regulations. In come countries it can let you buy only IShares. Can you still buy Vanguard?? Mybe in your country you can@@sidestreams6078

i have the same issue idk why, not even ETF Core Selection
(Edit) I did a little research and I think it is because the recent KID regulation its a EU regulation that requires of the providers of the ETFs to translate the KIID document in our native languages.
I am Greek and all the information I have gathered is from English speaking websites so I don't think my own language will help very much.. Also with this new regulation literally ALL the etfs are gone! the only ones remaining are the those that I have never even seen before let alone wanted to invest into. All the etfs in justetfs basically, which means that degiro becomes pretty much useless for all our smaller eu countries (mainly Balkan and east Europe).

Question if you decide to sell all your etf stocks and transfer all your balance to your private bank account is there any income tax?

    • @sidestreams6078
      @sidestreams6078  9 місяців тому +1

I'm not that good with taxes. Also, it probably depends on your country.
But from what I understand, if you make any income (profits) from investing, it will be taxed. But only as part of your income tax. But please check your local tax laws

Do you think the stocks will go down now the debt ceiling is raised? I want to buy now.....but wonder if I should wait till the market drops a bit.

Sorry for the late response. I'll be honest, I don't follow the markets so close. But in my head, if US can borrow more money, that means there is more money in circulation? Also, it means that US won't go bankrupt, investors usually like that 😅. So I think, it might go up, at least temporarily.
Personally, I prefer dollar cost averaging with my long-term portfolio. There is just no way you can guess it right in the long term.
