    I have added a variety of stocks and ETF to my present holdings for the long term. I also have $300k aside to start following inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flow. I strongly believe this is a good time to capitalize on the market for long term gains. But actualizing a short term profit would not be a bad idea for me at all.

      A collapse of margin debts leads to a decrease in stock prices and it triggers a ripple effect on selling of stocks as investors will try to cover their losses.

      Investors should be cautious of their exposure and should be extra careful of their buys, especially during inflation. Such high yield in recession is only possible with the guide of an financial expert who has proven and knowledge on investment strategies.

      I totally agree. That is the main reason I employed the service of financial advisor, seeing that their skill set is centered on going long and short at the same time, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risk on and threat on my assets, employing risk for the asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge for the inevitable downward turns. I have netted a whooping 2.2million in 2years of working with my advisor, and I am not even doing much.

    After the approval of some crypto ETFs, many people believe cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin could surpass $100k. I don’t want to miss out on this opportunity. I'm thinking about investing my $210k savings now, but I'm concerned it might be too late to maximize my profits.

      If you don’t know much about the market, the best move is to get advice from a consultant or investment coach. Talking to a consultant helped me stay on track and grow my portfolio by around 65% since January, even if it sounds like common sense. I think it’s the most effective way to get started right now.

We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. (First video I've seen on ETF ever) You provided a step by step walkthrough on exactly how to buy and hold which, in my opinion, was flawless. The only thing I didn't notice was covered was how much money should be invested or how to do that on the app. I assume it's different for everyone how much you would want to invest. Other than that it was a perfect presentation on how to get started and I will be watching this again when I go to purchase my first one. Most people are discovering you don't become wealthy just through working 40 hours a week for a job you'll go nowhere in. You become wealthy through investing and I'm ready to hop on that train. Hi Joshua! Great video you have here, your presentation are really easy to understand. Im really new to this, so there is one thing i want to ask. Its about the expense ratio, so if i buy a certain etf, does my share would just be reduce for the expense ratio?

    • @JoshuaMayo
      @JoshuaMayo  2 роки тому +3

      Hey thanks so much William! If I understand your question, the expense ratio is automatically deducted from your returns. When you view the daily net asset value (NAV) or price for an index fund or ETF inside your brokerage account, the fund's expense ratio is baked into the number you see. Sometimes it's really hard to find, but depending on he ETF it'll be a tiny number.

      Good question.🤔

    • @JoshuaMayo
      @JoshuaMayo  3 роки тому +8

      Yes, that is a good question Bill and something I should have gone over! You would continue buying more shares of VOO. The more shares you own, the more compound interest (in the form of dividend payments) you'll earn and that will of course give you the compounding growth which is the most effective way to building long-term wealth. Think of ETFs as stocks. If you owned 100 shares of Apple stock, and Apple grew 50x over the next 5 years, your net worth would also increase since you own 100 shares of Apple. The same is true with ETFs, except instead of only owning Apple, you own 100s of other companies. I hope that helps. I may make an updated video with more information to replace this one

    Hi so I'm gonna use fidelity , my question is what is the right way to buy etfs, do I have to buy the whole eft share or let's say I can out 50 dollars every week/month into it?

    • @JoshuaMayo
      @JoshuaMayo  2 роки тому +2

      With Fidelity, you can buy fractional shares of an ETF. So let’s say for example you wanted to invest in VOO. Even though that ETF is trading for close to $400, you can still buy $50 worth of the ETF. In terms of how much and how often to invest, I would try to invest as much and as often as you can. I made an ultimate ETF guide video on my channel recently and I go into more detail about all of this in that video. But basically, the more you can invest the better. Even $50 per week over a long period of time will add up and start to compound. I hope that helps!

      @@JoshuaMayo Hi bro, a follow up to this question. I struggle to understand what you get in return when you buy into an ETF as opposed to a stock. In this example, i buy the ETF for $400 does this mean i own one share of the ETF and how is this expressed as a % (dividing your cash input by the size of the fund?)
      Also as these ETF’s are traded on an exchange does that mean a sudden spike in demand for the ETF will prop up its price rather than the value of the underlying assets of the fund?
      i.e. how are these ETF’s priced if it’s following a stock index like the S&P 500 is the price governed by the average share price of the constituent companies that make up the index

    • @JoshuaMayo
      @JoshuaMayo  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Toxicjbot, first off that's an awesome sum of money to be getting and you have a lot to work with! I think paying down those debts first is great. I would also put maybe 1 months worth of living expenses away in a high yield savings account as an emergency fund. Then, the rest I would (personally) invest into a low cost diversified ETF such as VTI or VOO. If you don't already have a tax advantage retirement account such as a Roth IRA, you may consider opening one and maxing out your contribution in that account and investing in a low cost index fund or ETF (again, VTI or VOO) in your Roth IRA. Bitcoin is also a great investment. You sound like you have a great head on your shoulders!
