Mel Blanc. This is how I discovered the world of voice actors. I was so impressed that one person could make so many voices. I have loved Billy West for 30 years. I got to meet him at DragonCon in 2005.
Dawes Butler was one of my idols. His works with Stan Freberg are legendary. On a whim in my 20s, I looked up Freberg enterprises and called up the number. This was about 1990, and I was wondering when the "Part 2" of his autobiography was coming up, so I figured his company would know best. Who would figure that Freberg himself would answer the phone? And - who would figure that even though I was only a "fan boy," HE talked with me for about a half hour! All these years later, I'll always remember. You are a wonderful link in the "Great American Voice chain." Thank you.
Hi Mr. West, I just want to say thank you for all your hard work throughout your life. Stimp, Fry, Doug, George Klimer, Tex Avery, and Nash and Sparx, etc. Your voices made a large impact on my childhood. And thanks for carrying the torch for the last legs of R&S also! Be safe and take care.
Billy West and the two guys that do Pinky and the Brain are amazing. I have not heard anyone mention Fearless Fly and Milton the Monster since the 60's! LOL! Don Messick was Dr. Quest.
How is this channel not bigger than it is?!?! this man is a LEGEND! I will be starting my impressions on my channel very soon. You are definitely a huge inspiration to me Billy, as they were to you! thank you for your art!
Man. I really needed this. The pandemic hit a year ago and now we finally have a vaccine. I agree with the other guy. I consider you a National Treasure. It means a lot to me to be able to tell my hero.
I know, if I ever manage to get my butt into gear and into voice acting, then it's nice to know the influences of someone I consider influential. (Though I can't do that marble-mouthed Zoidberg voice well for the heck of me)
*THIS NEEDS TO BE A SERIES. TALK TO ICONIC PEOPLE IN V/O WORK ABOUT THEIR INFLUENCES AND HOW THEY INTERPRETED THOSE TAKES FROM THEIR ELDERS. ONE DAY PEOPLE WILL LOOK BACK AT THE STUFF BILLY DID LIKE LIKE THIS*
Billy, I know you probably won’t see this but, happy early birthday. I really hope you come back on your UA-cam channel because I really enjoy watching your videos. Happy early birthday🧡
I absolutely love listening to you talk about the history of some voices; your knowledge and love for it all never ceases to impress and entertain (your episodes on Gilbert Gottfried's podcast are a goddamn treat to listen to). And since I'm here, I'll say I was and am still a huge fan of the short lived Project GeeeKeR! One of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid. You were hysterical as Geeker.
Its amazing how your mouth doesn't seem to change much between characters. You can just create the voices. I have to talk out of every side of my face and stretch my neck to make any different voices. You are a golden god!
Hey Billy! Big fan! I was not aware you had made this channel, this is super cool! Please keep posting videos! Would really love to hear more stories from the Futurama days. Its my favorite show!
Billy’s definitely up on the history behind his craft. Surprised the interviewer didn’t touch on Mel Blanc. Don Adams also voiced Tennessee Tuxedo, and I always liked Wally Cox as Underdog.
Awesome, you and mike judge are my favorite voice actors dude! Great upload, hopefully you upload some old stern radio clips....now i get why you turned your back to john k hahaha
Billy West can you PLEASE voice woody woodpecker in the new youtube series forever and take out Eric Bauza's woody voice in the some the youtube episodes and esspecially take out all of the Eric Bauza's voice clips in the woody woodpecker movie record your voice clips of it and put them in the movie PLEASE, I've been dying for you to do it. Also get the original voice cast from the 1999 series and put them into the youtube series forever and get the new voice actors out of there forever.
Billy, get back on here. You got fans who want to thank you for all our cartoons and entertainment. You're a legend, Billy.
It’s 2023 and I concur.
Voice actors never get the kudos they deserve. They get dedicated fans but don't get the overall love they deserve.
Love this shit. You’re a national treasure.
Billy is absolute legion. But a little credit for our interviewer. He did a great job.
Billy rules!

Damn. This is like listening to 200 IQ Fry talk about the "real 20th century".
I could listen to Billy West read the phone book for hours.
Billy West and the two guys that do Pinky and the Brain are amazing. I have not heard anyone mention Fearless Fly and Milton the Monster since the 60's! LOL! Don Messick was Dr. Quest.
Boy, it is just oodles of fun listening to Billy West reminisce and regale like this. He has entertained so much, and delighted so many.
How is this channel not bigger than it is?!?! this man is a LEGEND! I will be starting my impressions on my channel very soon. You are definitely a huge inspiration to me Billy, as they were to you! thank you for your art!
Happy Birthday, Billy West!! I love your work and I hope you have an amazing day (Thursday, April 16, 2020.) Stay safe, much love.
Futurama was my favourite show growing up, thank you for making it so memorable and for making my childhood awesome!
Man. I really needed this. The pandemic hit a year ago and now we finally have a vaccine. I agree with the other guy. I consider you a National Treasure. It means a lot to me to be able to tell my hero.
I love you, Billy
As a younger fan, I really appreciate the talks about your influences. Thanks again for a great video! Can’t wait for the next

I hope this channel blows the fuck up.

I have no idea how it took so long to find this channel, youre a legend Mr West~
I have the same knowledge base of voice actors so this interview was fantastic. One has to wonder if there is a voice Billy can't do.
Pretty interesting learning about Billy's VA inspirations.
Bob McFadden was also in one of my dad’s favorite cartoons growing up ThunderCats where he voiced snarf and many other characters
I really enjoy these. I am especially liking the longer form content.
Loved this longer video
I've been listening to your voice for my whole life.

I have so much respect for you and your work! I Don't know where to begin! I need some Cheerios now!
Amazing insights and love your work - true legend of voice acting 🗣️🙏
He's a hero a true gem
Futurama was an amazing show & I'd love to see any more Q&A-style videos related to that or your other work.
Philip J. Fry Talks about Early Voice Guys & Heroes
Bob McFadden was also in thunderCats voicing snarf
And many other characters
Hoping all is well Billy! Loving the work you've been doing on Disenchantment, but also looking forward to you updating this channel again! :D
Billy’s definitely up on the history behind his craft. Surprised the interviewer didn’t touch on Mel Blanc. Don Adams also voiced Tennessee Tuxedo, and I always liked Wally Cox as Underdog.
But...The interviewer did a great job, and knew his stuff, too.
That Yamaha keyboard is taking up my ENTIRE attention watching this video. I think it might be possessed by a dybbuk.
Is the interviewer just You as Bob A. Booey? I love the old tubes on the shelf.
Project G.K.R. was the first I knew of you. Cree & Brad too. "I am so on top of that." #saturdaymorning
Awesome, you and mike judge are my favorite voice actors dude! Great upload, hopefully you upload some old stern radio clips....now i get why you turned your back to john k hahaha
Billy come back... You can lay it all on me
Billy you forgot to mention that Dallas Mckennon also voiced Gumby which is best known role
I am on the spectrum and I consider Billy West a hero!
I don't know about Bluto, but he did voice a similar character called Brutus.
I want you to return
more please
I Hope When I Met Billy West Maybe I'll Ask Him To Voice Colonel Pot Shot and Gabby Gator as Well as Reprising His Voice Role As Smedley the Dog.
nice video fry
Billy, if I ever got a chance to meet you, there's only one thing I'd ask you....."HOW YA DOIN'?"
Hope you're doin ok buddy!!
Hey where are ya?
how do you do that voice of popeye the sailor man
Omg you sound like Fry! If Futurama got remade you should totally do the voice.
Why didn't you reprised your role as Ren and Stimpy in Nicktoons MLB?
My guess is he turned down the game to work on some futurama episode idk if that’s the case or not
