Ok i found it, its in the drive properties/Device Definition/Connection format. thank you very much
Glad you found it.
Hi, i would like to change a powerflex 525 installed for other new one, but after It's configured, the ethernet led port only flashing and not connect to the net to recive and manage the vfd via ethernet?
thancks
Sounds like you need to double check the IP address configuration.
@@TimWilborne But the parameters ip and mask net are correct
Boss. When i meet two enthernet cards in plc with different ip address. Which ip address i should set up in my pc for matching? Thank you ceru much!
The one that is on the network that you are plugging into.
@@TimWilborne thank you boss
You are welcome
HI Tim Your videos are great my question to you how do you connect and disconnect the 525 from within the studio 5000
Hi Douglas. Do you mean the inhibit function?
no i was just setting up for the first time and saw a means to connect to the via project or physical i chose physical so was just wondering how to disconnect since i was able to connect
@@douglaslinton8292 Still not sure I'm following your lingo. Do you mean viewing the module properties of the Powerflex drive and Studio 5000? If so the connect is more of make sure the parameters match what's in the offline and you'll get used physical, which is what's in the drive, or use project, which is what's in Studio 5000 after that. Not looking at Studio 5000 right now but I don't believe there's actually a disconnect or a need to disconnect afterwards. Just close the module properties.
for example just like how you can go offline and online with the plc i was wondering if that was possible to do that to the vfd from within the studio 5000 software after you would have establish connection to the drive from the software
@@douglaslinton8292 No. It's more like my previous reply.
Hi Tim, Thanks for the video. I have done all of the steps in it. I can ping my controller from my PC and when I check the ip address of the drive it is 192.168.1.12 in the same subnet as the controller 192.168.1.10 and my PC. But I am getting communication error when I click on the connection tab of the drive. Don't know why? Thanks again
What is the error? Also, can you ping both of them from your PC?
@@TimWilborne the error message is communication error, no number. No i can't ping the PF. Thanks
@@benedalati1527 If you can't ping the Powerflex then you need to hit the basics. Here is a video to help.

How to change IP address in Power flex video-18?
Only have version 20 of studio 5000 /
. Will trainer work with this version(20)
If not I gotta go ccw 12 / micrologix 800 / logic theme but I rather compactlogix .... which is ideal but I cannot get the proper version new at work .... only service version its 789 so I don't think it's the right one to program and train with but I have a full version 20 pro
Yes, version 20 is the minimum version that will work with our trainers.
How about siemens like s7 1200 controlling thevspeed of vfd same like this video i hope you have video for s7 1200 siemens
No Siemens videos as of yet but we're exploring ideas.
Thank you very much
You are welcome
can i program a compact logix l32e with studio 5000 lite, (the 950$ version you were talking about)
im going buy that version but i only have a compact logix l32e to practice on and dont know if they're compatible...
also. i told my boss at hershey about your classes and hes very interested. we are waiting till they hire 2 more guys to set up classes for everyone. do you have a buisness email i can give to my boss incase he has any questions.
You could also use Mini if you are only programming in ladder. You can find more about our PLC training at twcontrols.com/plc-lab
Como usar uma entrada digital pra desativar a função PID ?
You probably want to look at using it to switch to speed reference 2.
thansk you , please help me , i can't find 525 inveter and adding into app rslogix5000, how to find that. best regarsd
Make sure you're right clicking Ethernet then selecting new module. Otherwise it won't show up, then enter Powerflex 525 into the filter box
Nice video.
Thank you!
hi TIM i am wonder can we program VFD BY RSL 500 software i looked at controller i didnt see
thank you
Program as in set the parameters? Possible but very difficult. Run? Yes, you can use messaging instructions.
@@TimWilborne thank you but I was looking for controler at software but I couldn’t find
Also one more question pleas if we have any other typ VFD like Siemens can we program it by RSL5000 or should be just Allen Bradley
Thank you
@@tonymontero4752 The Powerflex 525 can be programmed with Connected Component Workbench. Siemens has its own software as far as programming.
@@TimWilborne thank you
Do u have video shows how to program power flex by connected work bench
Thank you
Thank you Sir🤝🤝🤝🤝
You are welcome
I had many problems following this video i wanted to list some things for others who have the trainer and their Studio 5000 may have locked up and sent many errors to AB. I changed many things not 100% sure what did what.
Program would not download deleted ethernet connection, only left ethernet IP active and changed to windows default driver. Took HMI out of run on config screen. The program seems to have problems with blank spaces on PLC and Drive descriptions.
When downloaded I tried to double click on drive it stopped like yours but my powerflex connection was grayed out in use physical so i had to use project. Then I got error writing port 0 Parameter 122 value out of range. I clicked ok and then double clicked drive and all loaded properly.
Also for others with trainer steps in video may not work for instance buttons on drive because this is already changed in drive to ethernet IP.
Really not 100% sure how i got myself in so many problems but maybe some of these steps will help others
Hi Dave. Yours should have already been set up for this but I know we had some issues with IP addresses. Try doing a factory reset as shown in the following video and see if that smooths out the steps.
Okay...but, How to program for reverse operation...😢
Use the direction tag to reverse the start
This is what I see more and more in the field. Most drives are controlled over ethernet
Good to know.
otimo ja me ajudou.
Você é bem vindo
awesome
Thanks!
Failed to splice the path errror PF525??
It usually means no connection or firmware mismatch. Can you ping the drive? What is your IO Light doing?
@@TimWilborne Actually my drive is healthy ,but ot didnot accept command from ethernet ip communication,so i reset it to default.I tried your communication video step by step but no response ,but when i change ip it doesn't ping and didn't showing in RS links.I tried to set ip at automatic in my pc,but its not communicate.
If you can't ping it then you need to check your network configuration.
Thanks for your kind attention and Support 😊🙏.Error solve.Vfd run over ethernet.
Outstanding! What did you find?
It gets fun when altering the mask ie 255.255.0.0
I'm thinking I might to a video on subnets Joel.
