Awesome helps me alot I got over excited started my garden I should've put my pumpkins and my paddock instead of my small space I have hahaha rookie mistake great video
Dealing with the same issue. I have 2 pumkin plants, 7 butternut squash, 1 acorn, and 2 zucchini. I made a space for them and they still took my yard. It's their's they said until the fall lol
If you leave the pumpkin longer on the vine once it's already orange Will the pumpkin still grow larger ? When do you pick the pumpkin? I live in Michigan
It should keep growing but they slow down a lot. I usually pick them a couple weeks after they look like they stopped growing of just when they "look ready".
I planted 6 big max plants and wondered will one plant really get that big? And i also want to thin it to one pumpkin per plant, can i do that?? please advise because i can't find what i need on Google searches
Why do you bury the vines? You and another video mentioned doing that, but I'd never heard why. Thanks. And will the pumpkins still grow once they turn orange? Or is it a waste keeping them on the vine at that point?
When the vines get buried it makes them more stable (for windy days) but mostly so the roots will develop on the vines. At each intersection along the vines there is a root that grow out of the bottom. There is also a little nod on the top that when buried, can develop into a root. The downside of burying vines is possible rot if they get too much water but in the meantime they do their job of sucking up more water and nutrients for the plant and pumpkin. I'm
