Great overview of the types of neuromodulation and breakdown of the pros and cons of each. As always, thank you for stressing that "for tinnitus...there's nothing permanently broken in your system" and that positive neuroplasticity can improve tinnitus. It's absolutely therapeutic to hear that, regardless of how many times one has heard it before!

You’re absolutely right on how repeating these messages constantly is very good. I myself get lost in my head and need these repeated messages to help me see the path again that I accidentally strayed from. Yes, I’ve heard it before, but when I’m lost in my head, these messages really help.

I mean is there any actual science backing this up? Everything you said was super vague.

Yes, there are studies that show how neuromodulation can be beneficial for tinnitus patients. Here is a study that uses bimodal neuromodulation to help manage tinnitus. www.science.org/doi/full/10.1126/scitranslmed.abb2830?billing_country=US

It is vital for the tinnitus community that if science is moving towards a cure that this path is fully exploited. Emphasis must always be on the cure if science permits a feasible avenue. Should the latter be the case we cannot proceed on a path where treatments which are quite tentative in their success are monetised! This then would have echoes of the pharma industry monetising off the back of treatments and we all know the public backlash that has ensued and continues to be a factor today because of that approach! WE MUST push towards a cure!!! That should be unquestionably the number one priority!

Hi thanks for all you're doing,, I have eustachian tube dysfunction and hearing loss,, and severe extremely high tinnitus and lately been feeling a bit dizzy but not spinning as been described by menieres patients. Do you think there is any help available with the eustachian tube. I am 68 years of age and suffered this for 25 years now.

Hi, just wondering if you have been diagnosed with eustachian tube dysfunction and if so what tests were performed? I believe I suffer from this but ENT says no. My problem with TINNITUS began with a blockage in ear and has caused me grief for 17 months. My ears feel full all the time along with crackling clicking. I'm convinced it's the tube but doc telling me now it's all due to severe anxiety.

I would like to know what you think of TSC (Threshold Sound Conditioning) Specifically, using the AudioCardio system. (In my case, on Sony 7509 studio phones) I have been doing the daily session for almost a month now, and can honestly say, it seems to be lowering the overall level, and lessening the number of times I experience louder noise, or, as I call them 'episodes'. (A bit louder than the normal ring in my left ear, which goes back to a lower but mostly constant ring, afterword.)
