Fun Detail I noticed
"Truck" is the American term for Lorry
"Horrid" can be used in similar meaning as "Troublesome"
Troublesome Trucks = Horrid Lorries
As minor as the horrid lorries were, they were very underutilized and could have been some good recurring road villains, like maybe a surviving lorry, George, and Bulgy could come together as a trio like Captain Punjab once did.
I love this idea so much; that would’ve been a KILLER dynamic
The lorries could mean Beeching and Marples were modernizing the UK with Beeching modernizing the British railway and marples Building road networks as Cars became cheap
Theres also the fact that Toby got fucking HEATED after a lorry told him to toodle off. there's no other episode where i seen Toby get pissed off so much as much as this one.
Look when the old engines get pissed THATS when you start hearing the INVENTIVE swears.

I went to Drayton Manor and saw all three of these guys at the exhibition. Their in ok condition but I wish that they all had their faces attached so that they were easier to identify.
All the models at Drayton Manor are in such bad condition because the way they are moved over to the exhibition isn’t the best and also like i’ve said before, the park is a theme park so they would spend money on the park

honestly horried lorry is one of my favourite season 5 episodes
It truly is a shame we never really got to see them again after their episode in Season 5. I think it could’ve been really fun to see them again.
Also fun fact, they were meant to appear as part of the pack series

I agree, they were such underused characters! I feel like there’s a lot of possible potential with them; a lot like there was with George and other road vehicles. Maybe even a redemption?

The fact we see one of the Horrid Lorries fall off a goddamn hillside is so weird, the driver just looks like he's drunk when the camera cuts to him
As dark and morbid as that scene was, I always thought Horrid Lorry was one of the funniest episodes of the series. Just think of how many times the engine's and the lorries roasted each other!

If there was ever a top gear and Thomas cross over, Horrid lorries would be the match made in heaven.
Picture this. The top gear boys arrived on Sodor to see if their sentimental lorries could out do the engines of Sodor. We follow Clarkson, Hammond and May from their point of view making attempting to make their deliveries. Clarkson does a run to the quarry, hammond tries to make a delivery for the the flower mill and gets confident, and May reverse into the sea. a perfect fit. and at the end after Thomas makes his comment about smashed, broke, and sunk the three showed up, bruised, white, and drenched. And on that note thanks for reading this Good night.

This episode had some significance in my childhood with it being one of my favorites as well. At 6 years old in 2001/02, I had memorized the narration from beginning to end verbatim. It's also one of the few transcripts I've memorized in its entirety at all in my lifetime.

Did you know that there was a magazine story that featured a lorry of their type, about a month before the episode was released?
I kinda want to see one done for Elizabeth....I think she had the most wasted potential of the characters at the time,and she had multiple models

A video about what Sodor in 2021 would look like would be pretty cool. Would some lines be electrified, would some lines no longer exist? Immigration? Would lorries dominate? Would thomas still exist?

I love the way you say Lorry :D Horrid lorries was one of my favourites too, I had the VHS collection Spooks and Surprises so many of my favourite episodes are from that. They definitely should have been used in more episodes, maybe even the last mean lorry comes to have a kind of love hate relationship with one of the Engines
You should make a list of your favorite episodes! And I do agree with you on the episode. It's a favorite of mine too! And that is also why I am very happy to see this uploaded unannounced! I really wish this trio got more screen time. I can totally see them siding with George and Bulgy to take down the railway.

OG Range lorrie's are awesome when it comes to exterior design.
You should do a video on Big Mickey, since he was in both Tugs and Thomas the Tank Engine. Not unlike his Tugs counterpart met a tragic fate IRL during the filming of Thomas and The Magic Railroad (along with some other props) and his model had to be rebuilt. But he does appear as a character proper in the CGI series too, now having a face and being referred to by name. Arguably one of the most interesting characters and models to talk about, despite his relative obscurity.

I have an idea for a history of video, as these engines fascinate me, the culdee fell engines. Not only are their basis interesting, but I find it interesting that they got toys, but never appeared in the show, ever. Maybe it can be a small video about them, or how they manage to get merch, idk thought it might be cool.
I like Horrid Lorry too. Series 5 is my second favourite series after Series 2.
this episode is also a huge favorite of mine. the dvd it came on honestly was one of my favorites and growing up on American episodes not hearing Alec Baldwin was jarring but otherwise great episode. i wish there was more merch of these guys as I would love to own them someday. i'm a big die-cast metal trains collector of take and play and such and they only made one of the lorries which was sad to me.
I think as well as Bulgy these guys should’ve returned in Season 23 as they could’ve been great characters and probably been voiced by Steven kynman or Keith wickham.

Little fun facts some of you probably don't know about these guys. (1) Lorry 1 was featured in most of the toy ranges. (2) Lorry 2 had more speaking lines than his brothers. And (3) Lorry 3 appears rarely in the magazines. That's all I know about them. 🚛 🚛 🚛

I'm kinda surprised you didn't discuss Elizabeth. As far as road-going vehicles, I would be interested in a history of her, Trevor, and George, the 3 steam vehicles. I'd also be interested in some episodes about the more obscure items like various stationary steam boilers seen in the backgrounds or the vehicles that sir topham hat drove.
I wonder why the Road Vehicle Character aside from Bertie, Kevin and Flynn never seem to survive long in the Series?
