I like how pieces of Yoruba and Nigerian history were kept for us the new and the coming generations.

This my Lord Almighty is a wonderful God, I vividly remember this show ( Aropinteniyan), in 1974 or 1975 with my Late Father, Theophilious Aderibigbe Alimi Adeniyi who was a Customs officer and my mother. He took me along with them to watch the film. The image is still very fresh in my memory, and I can remember when chin-chin & biscuit ware sprayed to the crowed, how all of us rushing to pick one. An interesting stage performance.

To me I do realised that Late Dr. Chief Hubert Ogunde was a multi-talented Artist, who displayed more that theater artist. God blessed him.

God bless you for saying this. Too dynamic. Men who are acting those days are extra brilliant. Check late Adeyemi Afolayan or Ishola ogunshola including Moses Adejumo all of them were multi talented, some sings very well while some dance like no man business.

During his time, standard of education in Nigeria was at highest level. Chief Ogunde only completed "primary 6" education (in his own word). Unlike nowadays when even some university degree holders find it difficult to construct their sentences correctly.

I don't know what happened to our Educational sector, Nigerians in the past with just High school certificates spoke great English than most graduates in our generation, Education was top notch then.

Thanks Richard for sharing. It was very informative . I was a young boy then when Aye. Aropin te ni yan and co were released. Ogunde was a theatre colossus of his time.

We usually mistake intelligence for higher education. The man only had standard six level education. He was self-trained..

From the interview, he had just primary education. English is just language not a measure of intelligence. Baba Ogunde was very intelligent and also fluent in the English language. The standard of education then was really great. Our stupid leaders that enjoyed such great education destroyed our present education system.
