      @@allemander thats always my point in enforcing the death penalty. That sentence is the ultimate deterrent to reoffending. No murderer has ever killed again following the completion of their sentence so its 100% effective. It is NOT meant to be a deterrent to further crimes, but a deterrent to the continuation of violence from a convicted murderer.
      With today's technology it is a less than 1% chance that you can be convicted by a jury without sufficient physical and circumstantial evidence connecting you to the location, victim, and/or weapon. Not to mention the modern forensic and evidentiary technology we have today that is REQUIRED to gain a conviction.

      @SouthernNurseAndTheLaw 2 роки тому +1

      I do believe with modern technology. Better trial law in place etc. With potential jurors being better educated today , having a very good understanding of what their roles are as jurors. We most often see juries come back with well thought out and just verdicts.

The Supreme Court case where they ruled it was proper to remove the defendent was in a case where he was brought to the prison & so participating at all was clearly not an option. Not just that but she clearly was asked if she wanted to be present here for the verdict & she said no, so this would be unlikely an effective arguement in an appeal.
