Carmen was incredibly selfish during this time. Jason gets an opportunity of a lifetime and she tries to tie him down early before he’s even an adult. Then she tries to bring the drama of it all into her dad’s birthday party. Now that I think about it, I’m glad she got written off the show.

As soon as their first money problems started, the compliments and sex disappeared, and have been replaced by many fights, marriage counciling (within 1 year of marriage), underhanded, passive aggressive comments, and a firm control of his life when he's not at work. Both sexes need to be responsible about marriage and try to avoid doing so too young when it can really fuck over your life. The honey moon phase has fooled many-a-young people.

Why did I never see any subsequent episodes after this. Nickelodeon normally played the episodes in order but after this it would always just start back over at season one. I wanted to know what happened to Carmen and the family after this ._.
Carmen tries to FORCE Jason to get her pregnant so they can get married in Georgia. IIRC, Jason was just PLAYING and didn't think Carmen was SERIOUS. He goes to a Spring Training Camp and sends Carmen a breakup letter. Carmen is so in denial, she thinks it's a LOVE LETTER. I remember GL Fans wondering how she thought it was a LOVE LETTER when it was clearly a breakup letter. George had to tell her this was a breakup letter, not a LOVE LETTER. Jason and Carmen never got back together. Fans thought they were BOTH in the wrong. Carmen for trying to be a young mother and wife at only 16 and not getting that Jason wouldn't want to sacrifice his budding Athletic Career to be a Husband and Father at 17. They thought Jason was in the wrong for just running away from Carmen and then breaking up with her with that letter.

She didn't go off the deep end, do drugs, prostitute herself, etc. She ended up going to college and got written out of the show. I wished Angie could've been a more dedicated mother and not tried to be Carmen's friend. Moms are supposed to be moms, not friends. I get along very well with my mom and love her but she doesn't treat me like a friend. She raised me, nurtured me, disciplined me when I acted out of line and taught me how to be an adult.
Well, Marisol actually had low self-esteem as well. She kept going back to an abusive boyfriend, she was homeless, she dropped out of school ... she only got "tough" because she hated herself so much and didn't want people to know that.

All things aside, I can see why the actress got upset with her character. All they had her do on the show was bring so much drama, hence them needing Veronica because the original actress I believe had enough lol. Could be wrong, but I’m also sure that’s why the character of Veronica was always giving hard times too lol, is just it worked really well with her, maybe because of the uncle instead of actual dad relationship. George in a way had less and more patience with her because she wasn’t in his nuclear family. But once she was under his wing, that was it 😂
Honestly looking back at this ep this really did not have to be a ploy they could have had the season final be on learning Benny’s house on fire and the cliffhanger focus on if Benny was alive or not and focusing on George’s and the family’s feeling on the idea of Benny being dead and how it affected them really the only reason the marriage plot exist is to give Jason a reason to break up with Carmen
