My hometown and yes it's lovely. Specially during summer when there are a lot of activities and the huge funfair through the city center(for the funfair lovers it's always during the last full week of July)
Dear Jessica, you have made an awesome 24-hour review of my home city. As an insider, I did not understand why one would like to come here as a tourist. I stand corrected, thank you. In terms of city vibe, dining out/going out options, Tilburg is a great place. For a short city trip, there is so much to see and do. But living here, city specialties become a given instead of something special. The only thin I can mention that would have made your video even better is the presence of concrete sofa's with mosaic in many places. Though found around the whole of the Netherlands and beyond, they are typically Tilburgs. However, you still deserve "11/10, could not do better myself" - rating. Our city misses you back.
As you are an American I understand your use of the word "European". But for example, the views are not "European". They are Dutch. Love your enthusiasm.
Oh dear, you walked by the place where my grandparents are buried. Bredaseweg, on the way to the water tower. Next time the Textile museum is well worth the visit.
We did walk through the cemetery but didn't feel right filming. There are such beautiful tributes to those that have passed away. And thank you for the tip about the museum!
@@aWanderlustForLife Most of my family are permanent residents, my father was born on the Schouwburgring and mother a stone's throw from the cemetery in the Wilgenstraat. Visit there on a regular basis because it feels like home, even though I was born in Eindhoven. You might visit there at some in the future, be sure to visit the Van Abbemuseum, modern art mostly, Lissitzky, Picasso, Chagall..
I would have never known about Tilburg if you didn't post. The gin & tonic looked really good & that food! The food made me hungry. Loved the hotel, the rooftop & the escape room you went to. all amazing! Putting Tilburg on my list to visit!
I have not heard of Tilburg before, but the town looks amazing! I would love to have a view like that one outside of my hotel room. The food looks quite amazing there too. Awesome video!
I'm a sucker for a good view 😁 And I was quite impressed with the food, too. There's a fine dining restaurant in our hotel, but we got there earlier than expected so we didn't make a reservation and they are popular! It'd Restaurant Taste! In case you are able to visit. We plan on going next time we're in town.
Thanks for the feedback. We show it because sometimes it's nice to show where we stayed in case anyone wants to know for when they are looking. I always find it nice, in vlogs, because you get a better feel for it than just photos.
Typical for Tilburg is that the city has a bad tourism image. The city promote itself with attractive hotspots from other places (such as Beekse Bergen (Hilvarenbeek), La Trappe Brewery (Berkel Enschot), Efteling (Kaatsheuvel), Loonse en Drunense Duinen (Loon op Zand and Drunen). These are not my own words, but a literal quote from the Tourist image survey of a few years located where Tilburg scores low. What is the desperate attempt to lure people anyway? Hire an Amsterdammer and let her say that Tilburg is 'cuter' than Amsterdam. I hope Tilburg will do more to simply get their own tourist picture in order. Not only through promotion, but also by making the city thoroughly more attractive.
@@aWanderlustForLife I get that...but its sponsort isnt it? So... it is logically not natural and objective. And of course the host will say that she genuinely thinks it's a nice city…which is the purpose of the video. Tilburg is the 7th largest city in the Netherlands...but scores lower than many small towns when it comes to appearance and tourism.
@@aWanderlustForLifeMany homeless people, a lot of drugs going on. It' s called the shelter city, because of many homeless people on the street ! It' s a promotion video, far from reality !
Tilburg library has internationally been chosen the best library in the world !!
It is indeed astonishing
to say the least.
The fact that they turned something that wasn't needed anymore to something so beautiful for the public, is pretty awesome!

Why do you include a hotel room?
And a standard type hotel chain, what has that to do about city?
The rest of the vlog was great

Nobody told me to say anything specific. What I shared were my thoughts and feelings, nobody else's.
