Thank you so much for this! Zubin Varla is my favorite Judas based on his incredible vocal performance in the cast recording, but it's next to impossible to find video of the show with this wonderful cast!

Oh my goodness!!! 😱 I’ve been searching for footage from this production for this over 20 years!!! 😍🎉🎭😀 Ever since I was first lucky enough to hear the Lyceum 1996 cast recording at aged 12!!! Although I was sadly never able to seen this production live, it is in my opinion simply unparalleled, and contains the ultimate dream cast! I was fortunate enough to later play Jesus in a production of JCS myself when I was 18, I did everything I could to acquire information about this production! (I even went so far as to email Glenn Carter to enquire about how he & Steve Balsamo approached the role differently. He very generously replied! 😊) However, despite 2 decades of effort, I was never been able to find actual videos of this production…that is, until NOW!!!! 😍 Thank you so so SO much for posting! 😀 You have no idea what it means to be to finally be able to see glimpses of the production! I know it is an awful lot to ask, but do you (or anyone you know) by any chance have a copy of the entire show for this production (1996 Lyceum) filmed? The closest I have been able to find so far is this 10 minute video (which is itself awesome!) ua-cam.com/video/bKROVM9iT-k/v-deo.html I simply cannot put into words how ecstatic I would be see obtain such a video, and I would gladly pay. 😊 Please let me know, and thank you SO much once again!

It is a great thought provoking musical that made me think how Jesus is as a man. Was he not entitled to having his own human emotions? A masterpiece from ALW

The best cast hands down. I was lucky enough to see this performance live with my Family… Absolutely all of us loved it. Got the original soundtrack on Vinyl as well and this on CD 🕺 Better days for sure 👌🏻
I saw this. Still have my commemorative programme. It was the most mesmerising, electric and touching performance and has stayed with me all this time. I am so grateful that I was able to be part of this shared experience in the magnificent Lyceum. ❤️

I echo the comments of others. Such a shame we haven't been able to see this show again. I saw the show twice live and since seen many versions but this one has been favourite and Zubin was definitely the best Judus. Someone must have filmed a decent copy? Let's hope that this artistic splendour will one day entertain and move others once again. Great to see a hint in this upload of what I enjoyed so much back then. Thanks 😀👍

3:32 If all this happened to make the Theatre ready, and there was all that money and effort put into making such a production AND the fact that this was an official revival, then why was it not worth filming the performance and giving it a DVD release?
I totally agree with you! Apparently it was filmed properly when The Royal Family watched.

Is that supposed to be Nick Holden as King Herod in this version? Honestly, I would've preferred Alice Cooper, who sang King Herod's Song for the cast album.
Yes! Alice Cooper was just invited to sing for the cast album. Nick Holder performed King Herod for the revival.
Is there , anywhere full show video?
That's what alot of us want to find out. I could be wrong, but with the length of time this show ran (and it's popularity), I would be amazed if the production company did not film it on at least one occasion, both for posterity and future sales. Maybe Team Joanna can get in touch with the production company?!

The best in my book. I remember seeing him and crying. The performances were incredible.
