Just stumbled on this video and your channel! Your taste in video games seems very different than mine, but I loved how you presented these games as stories and art rather than just things you play for entertainment. It's made me want to try a lot of the stuff you've recommended!

Also, this is a small thing, but I really appreciate how you drop the name of each game before and at the end of their respective segments- that's a super simple thing, but most video game content creators I've watched don't do it for some weird reason.

1000XRESIST is not just one of the best games I've played this year, but one of the best I've ever played. A game that asks big questions in tiny settings, where your own biases and outlooks and emotions are tested and brought to the forefront. It's a game that asks for honesty, empathy, and self reflection from its player for the richest experience.
Found you thanks to your 1000x resist video, i even listened the entire dev podcast (so underrated a must if you enjoyed that game and i still laugh remembering the story behind hekki grace) Congrats on finishing the year with another cool video. Im definetly checking out Ultros.

I also particularly enjoyed Gori: Cuddly Carnage and a game that did make it into your video - Little Kitty Big City. Strangely enough, those are the only games from 2024 that I played, and they're all cat games.

I played Flintlock a bit via GamePass at launch and there seemed to be a number of things the developers needed to work out with the color palette and graphics, so I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it as much as you did and it made your list. Definitely going to give it another try. SO happy to hear you also loved Star Wars Outlaws. It came in at number 4 on my list and I echo a lot of your sentiments. For someone who's taken a step back from watching/playing the overwhelming amount of Star Wars content after the Sequel Trilogy (personally I'm still recovering from how disappointing these movies were), this game reminded me why I loved Star Wars to begin with. Exploring the world, its setpiece moments, and using your blaster gun during shootouts all felt so authentically Star Wars. I loved it. An excellent video and such a unique collection of games. Thanks for sharing!

I try to keep myself well informed about all video games, but you showed games here I never heard of. And your game of the year is one of them. Some of your picks are not games that appeal to me but I have learned that some of my favorite games are games that initially did not appeal to me at a glance. I really gave veilguard a try, the combat felt sticky magnetic-ish in a bad way for me so I dropped it. Ended up playing inquisition and dragons dogma instead.

@@GamingInTheWild Echo Point Nova is an open world FPS with the most insane freedom of movement. It really is incredibly fun once you get to grips with it. I don’t notice too many shooters on your channel so maybe it’s outside of your wheelhouse, I’m not sure, but it’s had glowing reviews from practically everyone that played it. I think all 10 on my list are actually Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, so it’s been a great year for indies!
A few games that for one reason or another stood out to me the year. (I don't really qualify games of the year, I'm not sure there was a "best" game for me this year, just a list of games that I appreciated slightly more than others at the time I played them, full releases only) I've also omitted any popular games that most people might have heard about elsewhere, suffice it to say there were others I also enjoyed this year. Primarily for the Art: Daemonologie, Miniatures, & DICEOMANCER For developers achieving what they set out to do: Frontline Crisis, The Hungry Fly, Path of Achra (could also be in there with the top-notch gameplay ones), & Grønland Top-notch gameplay: Intravenous 2, Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, Dominions 6 (worth the effort to learn if one is inclined) & Slice & Dice (new to Steam in 2024, deeper than it appears) Free: The Thief, the Witch, the Toad, and the Mushroom While I fully understand that your life pulls you in another direction, it's hard not to feel a little disappointed that you weren't able to continue your concerted effort into the channel. Then again, for your sanity, or anyone's really, it's probably best not to feed the YT beast. Wishing you all the best in 2025!

The quality mode gave me nausea, the performance mode was distractingly blurry, and if that wasn't enough, I found the open world itself stiff and lifeless, and a lot of tasks had filler energy. Cut away the nostalgia, and I think it was bad as an open world game, I'm afraid. 🤷♂️

Outlaws, seriously? That broken mess of a so called open world game (it isn't) with boring gameplay, boring abilities, bland characters, no progression and punching Stormtroopers in the face is more effective than your weapon?!
It's okay for you not to like it. That doesn't bother me at all. I, on the other hand, love it. This is... you know. The way of things in our subjective world. 🤷♂️
It wasn't so bad for me honestly, I played on Xbox. Some of the speeder collisions were a bit fucky, and some the AI was dodgy, but the patches helped a lot. Was it that bad for you?
@@applecorpYou do know they fixed moat of those issues right? Otherwise the story is good and charactera were fantastic for a a StarWars game. I enjoyed it far better then Fallen Order.

If you play Ultros, stick with it until you get to the very bottom of the ship, there's some wild game-changing stuff to find :)

I did play it! I got to maybe the third boss and then kinda got lost... liked what I played though.
I recently bought both Wilmot Works It out and the previous Wilmot game Wilmot's Warehouse. They're both really solid and cozy experiences.
