This was lovely! There are some wonderful books on Petroglyphs & Heiau. The more you learn about them the more you will protect them. btw: the chanter at the end was our Oakland Kumu, Mark Keali'iho'omalu (originally from ewa Beach)
Thanks for creating this series. I share your passion for ancient ruins and enjoy your videos. I will be visiting Oahu this year and was thinking of checking this out. Is the hike as sketchy as it looks? I love taking pictures of petroglyphs but don't want to do so if it means being unsafe.
Robert, thanks for watching the series. I believe the area where the petroglyphs are located is a safe area. Take your time when looking at them as the initial look doesn't always capture all the images that are there. However, climbing to the top might be a different story. I was okay with it, but I can see where others might think otherwise. Go out there, film the petroglyphs, and decide if you want to climb to the top.........alex
Huitzilli, yes the Polynesian people who traveled to Hawaii brought with them dogs known as Poi dogs. The ancient Polynesian were expert navigators and my sensing is that they did reach the shores of North/South American.....alex
They did have dogs and yes, the Hawaiian and native American where related. I know a Hawaiian with gemology charts showing his family tied with the Hopi and it goes back thousands of years.
Thanks a lot Alex for what u do for history
+Mahnaz H.Azad Thanks for watching...........alex
