Anne Widdecombe is talking about a situation in which I have been exonerated by the court and given an apology for a wrongful prosecution by the CPS. Nevertheless, the Church of England will not let me practice as a priest in the church. They want to put me through another trial. The Methodists, with whom I also had permission to practice, are the same, and have slavishly followed the C of E in refusing me work, and condemning me to the wilderness in which I am prohibited from attending Bible Studies or Pastoral Support groups in my church. I am effectively cut off from all of my church social groups - friends and neighbours with whom I have shared decades of friendship and fellowship. Anne is right. The churches are wrong. As for me? I find myself not only falsely accused but in effect excommunicated from the church I have served all my life. And when I complain, what does a church leader say to me?
"I am so sorry, Roy. But remember Jesus said on the cross, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Love and peace."
