    Just finished this job and must say this video is a perfect exact tutorial. Took me 40-50 hours. got it back together in 1 day but taking apart I had to deal with alot of stuck bolts and rust and shit. 80% of time was taking apart much easier to put back together. I recommend you label every single little thing you take off and put in a bag. write what it is on bag and write what time code it was in video.

    Im halfway through this job on a 2006 Accent and so far the worse part has been trying to get the last bolt on both front and rear motor mounts. I finally got the transmission separated yesterday and will start removing the clutch and flywheel shortly. Already replaced slave and master cylinders with no improvement. Thanks for the video, I followed step by step and it helped me tremendously.

    One of the best videos I have ever seen. Loved that you talked about what you doing in detail before doing. We were able to get inside your head and see what you were thinking at every step.
    I rate it 6 out of 5 stars 🥳

    Thank you for a well done, and detailed video. Dont forget to grease the fork pivot. If there is a thrust bushing, good time to replace it also, and inspect the flywheel teeth. If you do remove flywheel for resurfacing, you might want to replace crank seal.

      Tell your fiance she can slowly start letting out the clutch till she feels it start grabbing then give it gas. I have an 07 and it's the easiest stick shift I've ever drove.

    Thanks for posting this. I was disappointed that you didn't drop the subframe, as I have heard repeatedly that it's worth doing and I was curious to see how much comes off with it.

    • @SprocketHead
      @SprocketHead  3 роки тому +3

      Why would it be worth doing? Very simple to do the clutch job without dropping the subframe. Not sure why someone would waste the time doing it.

    • @stoparret
      @stoparret 3 роки тому +3

      @@SprocketHeadI eventually decided to remove the subframe, and found it incredibly easy to do. The amount of space you have I incredible, and I actually highly recommend it. I think people are just intimidated by it. I removed and reinstalled it myself with just a basic jack. I was pleased to learn it's not a waste of time at all

    From my experience with Hyundai as a sales rep, most of the FWD models like this are made so the front fascia and radiator frame can be moved out of the way so you can pull the entire engine in less than hour with the right equipment.
    Either way, it's not an easy job.

    Awesome video. Do you know which linkage is for the reverse lockout? Ever since I replaced my clutch I noticed it will go into reverse without pulling up on the collar. I'm assuming I put a grommet in wrong or maybe I'm missing one but not sure which linkage I need to look at

    Luckily my slave cylinder went out just up the hill from my house so I just put it in neutral and rolled down the hill. But it sure is a bit frightening not having any use of one of your pedals out of nowhere.

    I just replaced the whole fly wheel, clutch disk, bearing, and pressure plate last month. It worked but a sometimes need to hit the clutch paddle hard to switch transmission. The problem now is there’s almost no pressure when I hit the clutch paddle to switch transmission. Do you know what seems to be the probelm?
    Note: same model as in your video.

    • @SprocketHead
      @SprocketHead  Рік тому +1

      If you replaced all of that, then it would lead me to believe your slave cylinder could have an issue.

  • @Bhekani33
    @Bhekani33 3 роки тому +1

    Great video. I have the same car and my issue with the clutch is it loses pressure and becomes flappy if I drive it around the city especially in heavy traffic. It seems like the constant gear changes causes this. Different case when I'm on the open road I can drive forever with no issues.
    The problem has gotten worse, to a point were the transmission was not taking any of my gear changes and had to tow it home. Parked the car off for 2 days then decided to drive it again and everything was normal with all gears working.
    Can anyone advise what could be causing this and the possible solution?
    Thank you in advance

      Sounds to me like air in your system. Bleed everything an then try it. If that doesn’t fix it, then I’d move on to your slave cylinder. Last option would be clutch replacement.
