The opening scene going down the street with the gym, theater, etc reminds me of growing up nearby. Great times there as a kid/young teen. Not sure how great is is now
Here's a humorous memoir about growing up in Catskill in the 50s/60s. It was quite an idyllic place for kids then: very safe and healthy, beautiful places to swim in summer and to go sledding in winter, etc. "A Tongue in the Sink: The Harrowing Adventures of a Baby Boomer Childhood." You can find it on Amazon.com
Uh that video is okay but the music should be more upbeat, please. Catskill has promise. Catskill is being proactive and is pretty well located and it's actually kind of exciting to think of it's potential. Maybe time to invest! We'll see...
A little bit of History regarding the Catskill Mountains. I see some post on here where people think the name is regarding our feline friends, cats. Not so. If you Google the legends or book Rip Van Winkle, this is where he fell asleep, and the Catskill Mountains. It has nothing to do with the our feline friends. The Catskill Mountains are known to be the land of Rip Van Winkle. Google it, you'll see.
The Rip Van Winkle Bridge. There was also an urban Myth that was something about a bowling pin hidden somewhere with a medallion or something. I think there's a book that gives clues where to find it. I remember hearing about it in the late 70's early 80's. I used to live in Catskill and Cairo for many years. That pin in in them thar mountains!! LoL
The Cats can be seen the entire length of Main Street and more, very beautiful each one unique. I was there from June until September and they are very visible . I took pictures of them all .

Great music.
This music is like from a horror movie.
delightful video thank you
Yes a really nice video except for the music. Just a poor choice. Should be a little bit more or should I say a lot more upbeat.
I love main Street it's a nice place to live I use to live at 401 main Street
rare country beauty
This place has some serious IT vibes
Seriously depressing music man. Catskill is a great place to live and to bring up your kids!
Horror movie music
Raymond Nicholson Catskills also is where Mike Tyson lives use to
There’s garden gate my favorite place
That opening music is not peaceful...its troubling....something you would play at the beginning of a suspense movie...try smooth jazz next time

Was Cus D'amato really named after something his mother heard in his baby talk. . . something spelled with four letters. . .
I'm not familiar with the person you're speaking about. Would you elaborate?
@@marilynm8381 Mike tyson's trainer
why that scary music??
Agreed.
Beautiful place but the music makes it look like a haunted town.
Some narration would have been a nice touch !
Tales from the dark side flash back! I'm out!

Where are all the cats? That must be something they just used to be known for.

Why this sombre music? Is it meant to be a statement about Catskill?
I also wonder about the choice of music.
We are thinking about moving here and your videos are really great, but this music is depressing.
Did you make the move, Adam? If so, how are you liking Catskill? I have been thinking about moving there also!
Sounds like Lizzy Borden music. otherwise video is okay. I know Catskill through my husband.
Wayward Pines.... just sayin'. This makes Hudson., NY look cosmopolitan.

This is a dirty, little town-both literally and politically as is the rest of Greene County! The people are miserable, depressing to deal with.
