Happy Trans Day of Visibility everyone! 🏳⚧ I didn't purposely set out to release this video to line up with it, but a nice surprise none the less :) Feeling very visible rn. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the video!!
Excellent video Lexx. The one thing I'd say Simpsons Road Rage has over Crazy Taxi on consoles is the 2 player head to head mode. A tag game where you steal the passenger from one another's car by ramming them, and getting it to the destination before they can touch you again, was pure chaotic fun!
mat selman and tim long (who both worked on the simpsons) wrote the dialogue for road rage. i'm guessing they were able to get away with a lot more in a video game than on tv, where they're constrained by limitations set by advertisers and the fcc.
Smashing Drive and GTA Advance also featured taxi side missions & both were released on the Nintendo Gameboy Advance; no offense, but the Simpsons Road Rage for the GBA did not steal or rip off Crazy Taxi: Catch a Ride...it mearly paid an homage to it.
@@LEXXPortPatrol Stuntman GBA is one of the best 3D driving type games on GBA imo - very fun game on the little device. ua-cam.com/video/kivPZ1S2sA0/v-deo.html
Imagine if Sega contracted Raylight to adapt Crazy Taxi instead. Or Velez and Dubail for that matter. And licenced music has always been an arse to deal with, and knowing Sega's track record with licences...
Great video, I couldn't resist laughing out loud at that "Ape Escape" picture. Perfect choice. Also, I never put interest in the GBA version of Road Rage, but certainly looks worth of a try, I'll give it a chance. Take care!
Imagine Jet Set/Grind Radio with Crazy Taxi GBA's perspective...God forbid the gray and/or the framerate. No, the already existing GBA version doesn't count, I'm talking behind-the-view style 3rd person. God it'd be so janky. But if the GAX sound-engine was involved? Hell yeah, tolerable musics!
Actually in the us version of the game those confusing arrow things you didnt understand were in the american version circles saying things such as near and arrives basically saying how far away you are from the destination if ur wondering the only other differences between the europe and us versions are you get to select a language in the europe version and theres a small intro thats about it
I just found your channel and i love it already! And glad you enjoyed simpsons road rage for gba, I love it too and feel like not a lot of people talk about it
20:56 When it comes to "Mode-7-like visuals with slopes" there's also at least two other games that come to my mind (both also being on the GBA). Road Trip: Shifting Gears which used it a bit more subtly for hills or bumps in the road. And then Motoracer Advance which is basically an extreme interpretation of it. Ramping off of huge jumps with roads that stretch all the way to the horizon. Honestly one of the best examples of that kind of effect and also it's generally a very overlooked GBA racer.
super late to having gotten to watching this, senior in uni >>;; but I really enjoyed your style in this one, for both games! hope you're doing well, and I hope to see you keep it up
Can you check out the port of star wars battlefront 2 for the psp? It isn't the best versión of the game, but it always seem curious to me how ravage entertaiment ported it to a console that was very recent and a game that had so many actions for psp's buttons capability
I genuinely have no idea what that icon means!! It's not the target being directly infront of you, because there's another one for that so... What could it be??? :')
15:08 I was waiting for a more specific sign post referencing Joyless Jay, can't really get more specific than that. ..huh? What do you mean that's not him?
Might I add, if you toggle the drive/reverse button and kind of spam it back and forth you can boost your speed by a significant amount. It actually is pretty fast paced once you start spamming the drive/reverse button along with the acceleration button and interspersing it with braking on occasion.
@@LEXXPortPatrol It is called crazy dash; there are other ones like crazy drift, crazy hop (in later Crazy Taxi titles), crazy limit or something like that, I don't remember them all but they do aid you greatly. 😊
The killswitch gba game was insanely ambitious and i think not enough people talk about how nuts it is on how much movement you get for a gba game doing a third person shooter. It had cover fire mechanics. Grenade aiming and blind fire mechanics...
I can’t say I expected Simpson Road Rage GBA to be better than Crazy Taxi haha. I played the Crazy Taxi port back in the day bet never seen Road Rage. Going to have to pick this up!
I think the problem of being able to basically pick up every passenger in the map in catch a ride is an issue or feature with nirmal crazy taxi ive seen 4 and 5 hour runs of crazy taxi 3 where they pick up and drop off like every passenger and its equal parts insane and stupid
fare wars is great, I played it all the time before my vita broke. It has some frame rate issues and pop in but it's the newest official way to play crazy taxi on a handheld so I made do with it. Sad there is no crazy taxi on switch
hi lexx um uhh sorry im shy but uhm do you love me? oh oh and uhm also can you uhh err can you play uhh can you make a video on the simpsons hit & run for gamecube next!!! please!!! here are all of the differences - it runs better - lower quali ty texyures ithink it would make for a lot of content!!! oh and when we get married can u wear red dress i think that woul be awesome i love red and it would bt fun to match 2!!1

Omg thanks for the reminder!! Happy TVD! I feel surprisingly more visible today so make sure to wear queer camo if you need to be stealthy at all.

Thanks Larry! That’s awesome, I saw the mode on the menu but didn’t try it out - That sounds really fun!

Cheers Lexx, always a pleasure when you upload. By gods, GBA Crazy Taxi is eye watering to watch. Respect to the devs for trying.
Ahhh I'm glad you liked it!! A pleasure, apart from having to look at Crazy Taxi :P

Crazy Taxi for the GBA looks better on an emulator with shaders installed.
Imagine if Sega contracted Raylight to adapt Crazy Taxi instead. Or Velez and Dubail for that matter.

The Richard Leadbetter easter egg was pure gold
His poor heart would sink if he had seen what we all saw today watching this video

I’m hoping it’s a reference that in 2 years time no one will understand anymore :’)

unironically made me want to pick up Road Rage's two versions, take that as you will lmaO
omg do it!!! They’re both surprisingly fun!!
just saw the doom gba port video and damn, only 5 years and you sound so cute
This is very sweet but your trollface pfp makes it sound so sinister LOL
Excellent video (as always)! Love the title screens and patreon segments, your videos get better each time!
Ahhh thank you! I’m really happy with how it all turned out ^_^

One of those SImpsons Road Rage tunes sounded very very Super Aleste

I actually love Crazy Taxi for the GBA. Ive nearly completed it , at 100%
Simpsons Road Rage was one of the games I had on loop back in the day. Loved it, even if it was just a blatant ripoff
Can you check out the port of star wars battlefront 2 for the psp?

road rage on the gba made me so dizzy as a kid 😭 pretty fun game though
Ahahaha yeah I totally get what you mean :’)
The arrow at 24:04 gave me a moderate chuckle

Yesss Kill.Switch is amazing! I was making a video on it last year but dropped it halfway through, might be worth coming back to!
You should do an episode on the PSP port of the Crazy Taxi qames too. My old man brain remembers Fare Wars fondly.
The PSP has a lot of banger games like that, not a bad idea x3
Tomb Raider: Legend for GBA also has loading screens, and it's a completely 2D game from what I've seen, not sure what's up with that.
Oh woah that’s cool! Took all of the processing power the GBA could muster to squish down Laras assets completely flat :’)
I miss fraki😂
bruh the videos are still the same 😭😭😭

Welcome back to the trans girls who own Dreamcast club. Breakfast is at 9 or whenever that soldier of fortune port loads, whatever comes first really.
omg what do we get for breakfast
you had me at crazy taxi
played back at 1.5x speed, you're a pretty good presenter. Try it.
It sounds like Ben Shapiro 😭😭😭
I love Altron honestly, they made some pretty good licensed games
Marge Simpson
Sarge Mimpson

Wow great border 1 improvement make it constantly scroll inwards :)))))) ok love you babe
omg I should make it spin too
I have crazy taxi fare wars on my vita and is gud
Yeah Fare Wars is meant to be real good! I did have a section at the end of the video that briefly mentioned it originally but I cut it out :’)

Really sad to see you still suffering from this mental illness more than a year later. Hopefully you get better soon.
I’m suffering from a mental illness? That’s news to me 🥰
This is such a weird comment
I think I was pretty good at Road Rage GBA as a kid. I know I played it a lot and had a bunch of passwords wrote down, so maybe?
I think you get a password after every run, but I imagine all those would add up!
