thanks for video. Planning a trip to Philippines and starting in Cebu City so this is really helpful. Any chance you are able to share what exchange you saw for Canadian $. Buy and Sell.
Unfortunately, the spread is much higher. I checked some pictures and videos I took that week and it was between 32.8 and the best one was 33.7. Currently it’s showing 40.2 on my actual ticker. I would suggest using an atm because the Canadian dollar just doesn’t hold up like USD or Euro. You can see the rates toward the end of my video “First Vlog, Part 2” around the 10 minute mark when I go to Core Pacific Exchange at IT Park
At exactly 8:35 of that video it shows the rates from IT Park’s Core Pacific Exchange. The buy rate on USD spread only 2% while it took 18% for Canadian dollar. My suggestion is to convert to USD in Canada if you’re “cash heavy” before the trip. Otherwise just use an atm which almost gives exact rate. BPI allows a withdrawal up to 20,000 pesos for only a 250 peso fee. Hope this helps.
