I'm glad arekkz understands we don't all have every single god forsaken deco in this game. Too many build creators don't seem to get that.

I have every deco in the game except for those nonexistent Attack Jewels and even I can't take him down.
You can get the feet and coil via plunderblade even the chest if you get a second fatais evil eye to be fair but anything that needs the horns are not happening.
Fatalis evil eye has a 1% chance with plunderblade.
Similar thing with alatreon anything that needs the horns are difficult to build, even when im using adularias edge with 760 ice attack i dont seem to hit the dps check fast enough.
Been struggling on both for quite a while now, safi isnt an option cuz it took me 2 hours just to deplete the energy in area one and then i had to sleep as i need to wake up early.

When he’s flying, if you manage to crouch and use smoke bombs, he’ll come down to the ground if he can’t find you in a few seconds. Good way to ground him even if he’s enraged. Which he should be, because he takes 20% extra damage when he is.

You don't need dragon resistance if you have Level 3 Blight Resistance. Blight Resistance cancels out all blights when maxed, minus stun if you get slapped around too much.
You don't have to but it is nice to have. Especially if you still cannot evade or caught off guard by the dragon element explosion (the red thunder thing). At 200hp, lv3 dragon res + elemental resist food buff 40ish dragon resist can tank the exploding dragon ele attack better (with half ish hp left) than 0 dragon resist (less than 1/3). That is with 988 def......
@@Chronostra True. Between slotting lvl3 dragon resist and lvl3 evade, I feel the evade is more valuable when it comes to exploiting openings. We're talking comfort here, so defensive skills like elemental resist and divine protection are fair game too
@@Chronostra The hitboxes on Alatreon's attacks last for only like a few frames. With the natural evade window the Safi armor gives you can roll right into the dragon Nova and not take damage. It also has a really long wind up so you should have enough time to just get away. Just don't over commit on attacks and you'll be fine.

I just beat it after over a year and a half of rage. Tried killing it in the event quest after and I've already lost several times and a controller 🥲

General Tips:
- Upgrade your armor! I've seen many player with lvl 1 gear, around 800 defense. If you have 1000 def, Alatreon can easily two shot you, so having less than that is begging to cart a lot before the first Escaton Judgment. Even full Safi without upgrade wont be of much use if you're dying
- Learn the patterns! Try to fight Ala solo, not to kill him, but to train for his fight. Learn his openings, he has a lot of them!
- Learn his elemental / melee resistances. There's a lot of videos around showing all the details, but basically, if you're melee, the front legs should be your focus to deal elemental damage, while the head should be your focus to deal the raw portion of your damage, so you can kill it faster.
- Fight with a group. Unlike the first 2, 3 days of Ala's release, now most people know how to fight it, and chances are that someone in the group will complement your build (for example, someone will be ranged, or someone will bring max lvl Friendship, things like that). You should always do your part, but there's no need to climb a mountain all by yourself ;)
- You can eat for skills that will let your team cart +1 time. Dont remember the name of the skills, but you can farm for Gourmet Tickets in the Steamworks at Seliana base.
- And finally, dont be upset when people die. Alatreon is, after all, THE endgame boss at the moment, and even when everyone is playing right, he can still cart hunters easily, that's what makes the fight challenging after all!

Bro, I realize you might not have enough for everybody but...but, could you like, sprinkle some of that positivity all over the mhw subreddit. The whole subreddit is on fire right now with people on either side either saying git gud or f*** capcom. I'm somewhere in the middle. Me and my friends have been trying every night since the 9th to beat him with no luck but, I dont know why...its fun. We're having fun losing every single time but we keep getting better too. We can now consistantly fail the third dps check, which is an upgrade from dying within the first 5 minutes.

This is all great advice, aside from the one about playing in a group.
I don't know what the experience has been on PS4 or PC, but there's no-one on Xbox willing to play with people who haven't cleared the assignment. Any request for help is met with "git gud" and a kick from the hub. Both the main subreddit and the mhw subreddit are both acting similarly, refusing to help anyone who hasn't cleared the assignment and saying that everyone who hasn't killed him is playing "unga bunga raw and blast smash face" sets. Which isn't just wrong, it's downright disgraceful behaviour.
NA I’ve done already 4 duos where the other player just stays at camp and I’ll solo, makes it harder for me and they get the W. win win situation, I hate to assume but you seem to be one the Xbox players that @SonicSceptile is talking about saying git gud or all that. I’m 873/999 I’ve got nothing else to do but wait for updates and make builds why wouldn’t I help hunters get where I am.
That armor part.. So much. There is huge difference between 1000 defense and 10035 defense. Your resists mean jack all if you don't got enough defense to capitalize on thos elemental percents.
2:50 What a surprise, he has the Holy Grail of decorations in the build. Tenderizer/Vitality doesn't exist in my game.
Sifi should've been a good practice for tenderizer before facing alatreon
I have a surplus of literally everything other than Challenger, Attack, and Crit +4 jewels. Yes, I got the freebies but I want MOAR!
These builds are the best versions, do what you can creators can't account for everyone's deco situation. Honestly as well these should be used as ideas there are so many tools out there for set building you can easily make your own.
Honestly you don’t even need those decos. The only ones I would say are NEEDED is resistor (if you don’t have it on your armor skills) and vitality. Tenderizer is just an icing on the cake type deco

I beat him with crit draw GS in 23 minutes, the key is to always go for the front legs for more elemental damage.

@@Laoruperteen18 ONLY going for draw attacks? Yes. A guaranteed crit for pot shotting Alatreon in the legs for free damage then following it up with more crits with the other attacks when you have the opening is not. ABSOLUTELY add crit draw to any GS build that has room for it, no exceptions.

I bad in dodging, so I go for cri draw frost craft + hit and away plan. But I dont have kjarr ice, so I use frozen tuna and kjarr fire GS for each quest, any suggestion?

If you dont remember I said I couldnt beat this monster for the life of me, but now I've beat him solo. Besides these builds, my advice is to not give up on this fight, keep trying and learning and eventually you'll be able to absolutely dominate this fight and farm it with ease. Good luck to those who have yet to beat alatreon, I hope you can reel in the win soon.

Took a break from ice borne for a while. Coming back in, I’m watching guides as if I never played! Looking forward to the challenges that are waiting.
If anyones still struggling with the Alatreon quests, go with a full Safi set(if you can) and a Kjarr ice weapon youre comfortable with. This makes the fight unbelievably more manageable, to the point that its a normal fight with a damage check gimmick, which is far easier to meet with that setup too. The following fights are also easier since you start at camp and can prepare.
Be careful using the Safi set. If you're not good at dodging or lacking health regen augment, it could do more harm than good for you! It is super effective against Alatreon otherwise!
just a little advice, when you decided to use CB vs ala, having guard 5 really makes the hunt much comfier .
health augment mitigates the hp drain on safi set. So you stay aggressive even with some mistakes. And since you don't take more self-damage during the healing portion, you will heal more effectively. Of course this is dependent on the type of weapon you are using, you'll see more gains with harder hitting weapons than faster ones, and you have to hit him to see any healing, but still take self damage if you miss.

You can do lower with that. Focus with savage axe and don't do SAED. Capcon nerfed elemental phials damage so hard, but not savage axe elemental ticks lol
Oh yeah, I'm sure it's easy to do it faster, I'm just too greedy sometimes and end up taking a hit because I just need to do another savage axe swing (even tho I'm not even close to reaching any of the checks)
I don't ever do SAED's so as you can see there are lots of room for improvement lol and thanks for the kind hearted advice
@@SopaGuiPP ah I see what you mean yeah. Ala bitch slapped me whit abysmall SAED output when I first fight it using CB.
Also focus more on front legs for topple. Then horn when it switched to dragon. But when it does break, go front legs again. I've killed it in 12 mins ish with that strategy solo.
Also don't bring your cat, in my experience it is easier without palico. Except if you want to passive farm it using your palico gadget.

I've beaten Alatreon around 16 times now in teams of random people.
I was using SNS Kulve taroth armor with Yian Garuga Greaves and my weapon was the Velkhana sns. Though after the first kill I made the Alatreon sns and used that instead then the Alatreon pants with dragon attack.
My biggest grievance during the fight is that some players forgot to bring dragon resistance/blight resistance or forget to remove the blight (kinda the reason I went support)
Other than that I kept wounding the monster/knocking it out of the sky and healing teammates.
Also small tip: grab the crystal bursts on the right before flying down. Makes it easier for it to stay in place for teammates to get some hits in
In multiplayer, I’ll typically use a 4 piece master rank kulve taroth set for the guts and free meal secret set bonuses. It’s mostly a general out heal/support build due to using the alpha version of the arms, which have wide range 3. On top of that, I use an upgraded kjarr weapon that depends on which active state it begins in due to the critical element that’s there by default on them, and a set of great whetfish scales can help if they have subpar sharpness. I wouldn’t say it’s the most fun, but it’s a nice cautious and useful build to help prevent teammates from getting carted while stunned or what have you
My tip: Insect Glaive is truly one of the best matchups for Alatreon. A Kinsect with Lv20 element is equivalent to ~1200 element on a weapon, and you can stagger Alatreon with ONLY KINSECT in just 2mins. Plus, with a Kinsect that's the opposite element to your IG, you will never have to worry about his phase shifts! It's an extremely fun fight.
Not to mention, you can vault straight over all his AOEs...lol
Velkhana crit element armor skill is also a good option if you can't afford safi, kulve, and silver rathalos. I use it with Aspara Glacia and it generally works fine
My first kill was solo at 25:15. I used kjarr ice dual blades with safi 3 set and namielle 2 set. Chest, gloves, and legs from safi. Head and belt from namielle. It works really well but like he said with the safi set, you really have to watch your health. I ran level 2 stun res and level 3 gobbler just to be safe. Without gobbler I would have spent a lot less time attacking and possibly could have carted too many times because of it. Hope this advice helps!
The best part about the Safi'jiiva seige to get those weapons is that once you have the armor set you no longer need to _actually kill_ safi'jiiva, its enough ot just be in a lobby where SOMEONE kills him, to get the dracolite you need. Before you have the armor, though, you HAVE to kill him or you get no parts.
I just went with full Velkhana deco for crit and wore the part breaker charm. Then I smacked it down with the frozen tuna fish from the event quest. Average time solo is 18mins or so.
People be blowing my mind when they solo him under 10 minutes. I just can't see the matrix.
I just wasn't getting the horns broke on my jank elemental builds... ended up beating it with an ice insect glaive and the kinsect set to fire and I just alternated to get at least the first topple every round. It wasn't fast, but I never died to the judgement.
And when its in dragon active, just keep using kinsect, it does better elemental damage than the glaive.

Note that the Safi armor raises the cap on your elemental damage (yes, there is a cap).
I’ve still yet to beat him, so maybe one of these builds will help me.
My best advice is get evade window 5. Just constant dodging and attacking.

I appreciate all these guides by content creators, I really do. But as a solo player i dont have Safi'Jiiva set. Every single known content creator keeps on pushing the safi weapons and armor, I just dont have the luxury for that. For solo players I highly recommend using the Silver Rathalos set and focusing forelimbs and head alone. And as usual, use the element that counters Alatreon. I killed it solo with this set and I used SnS (Nephilim Glacia) on the original quest. My clear time was only 25 minutes and it's very doable, you just gotta learn the fight and understand its openings.
Use the rathalos set mentioned with the untouched heel dbs +protective polish and bring whetstone+ for one stroke sharpening. When he's in fire phase immediately go for the tri-circle circle -r2 clutch claw attack to soften the legs (this might be a glitch but if you soften one leg you soften both) and then just continuously beyblade from one of his front legs to the other (while watching his telegraphs of course). For easy dps when he reels back to start his random thunderbolt move, position right behind his elbow and start the demon blade dance. You will get almost the whole combo off before he moves to attack you. You will 100% always hit the dps check for the fight with this set up (crit eye 6, WEX 3 and ice attack 6) and when he topples switch dps to the head. When he switches to dragon mode wall bang him one time and then dps the head with demon dance. You will break the horns. Survive through Escaton Pwnage , rinse and repeat, and you will slay him.
True, you really don’t need safi armor at all. Saft is probably used more by speed runners trying to get gods times
You can literally join a lobby full of randoms and just go for 4 5 kills and you should have the necessary to craft the armor at the very least
I’ve beaten him 17 times already as a duo and as a four man team, first win was 6 hours after his release, original build was a mix of furious raj, raging dios, Safi arms, and banked one elemental phials
Aha. My 1st win was after 6 hours too. But i did it solo after i got tired of watching my teammates fumble and faints for 6 hours. 😂
Went at it solo killed it 1st try. Granted i've learned its moves after the 6 hours of fails with friends. 😂
Mr Smiley haha yeah the solo kill us easier but I got a got a squad of 10 people so we always go for the multiplayer kill then the solo, no man left behind lmao
I’m confused, am I supposed to make silver rathalos A armor or silver rathalos B armor?
I haven't gotten all the guiding lands material for the silver sol armor so I've been using 2 parts velkhana and 2 parts namielle to stack crit element and elemental acceleration, with gemmed in crit eye and thunder attack (i'm using thunder sns).
I haven't beaten him with it but I have passed the dps check a bunch of times.
If you know somebody who has silver los join their guiding lands and spot (mabey capture? Used to be a req. In old games) this will add his arena quest. You can also get lucky with... the deco quests the ones you get from breaks/tracks/kills ect.
You'd be better off running old school 2 piece velk + 3 piece teo for crit element + master's touch with full crit. Alternatively if you're not afraid of the health loss 3 piece safi with 2 piece velkana is also really strong for elemental builds.
@@DAMNSKIPPYINC Assuming your a blademaster who's not using a Kukle weapon. I'm just going to leave that typo because pronouncing it made me laugh. Also 100% use safi set if you can get it, 5 set is still top dps for element and 3 set goes with a lot of things velk being one of them.
I've beaten him a couple times using Safi dragon great sword and the alatreon longsword. The most important perk in any of my builds is evade extender, it helps with mobility, repositioning, and dodging so much. Also, vitality health boost is a must and use a voucher at the canteen and eat all the light blue vegetables to get Feline Moxie (keeps you from carting once) and a large elemental resistance boost. Lastly, bring an elemental weapon (dragon preferably) and focus on the front arms to not get one-shot by his ultimate move, it has to get knocked down from the elemental damage and that's how you know his ultimate move will be weakened. The equipment that you can put in the ground that slowly regens health is also amazing for staying alive during the ultimate move and everyone in your party can benefit from it.

Just came back to monster hunter world and the Arekkz challenge and I am loving the new intro
I solo'd him with LS with a PB of 19 mins. I was using a pretty standard three pieces of teostra build for Master's Touch and the Kjarr Sword Fire with Lifesteal and Elemental dmg augmentation. I also used stun and blight resistance lvl 3 for convenience.
My team beat Alatreon decently easily once the mechanics were understood (and told to us by youtube vids & weren't trying to figure it all out on our own :P).
Had a HH user, a lance user, insect glave user and me using a full safi set + ice kjiarr dualies + ice charm.
We cleared the elemental check every time easily, the problem was making sure the horns were broken, which this team of people made easier since the lance and IG user could keep on the head pretty easily. Other teammates we've had were using switchaxes.
That's been the biggest trouble for the hunts, if we can't slam the head into the wall it now is a rush to smash the horns before it shifts to ice, leaving all of us pretty much useless.
The biggest struggle was 2HH users since they were both so focused on healing they weren't getting in damage. They did really good with buffs, items etc, no complaints at all there, the trouble we needed more damage. They were making the fight way more survivable, obviously. Especially with my safi-gear bleeding me out on top of a dragon smashing me.
I didn't do it solo because...MH is more about the group hunting to me than solohunting. It just seems ...lonely ? IDK. I want to know if others prefer group hunting for that reason. :\

Brachy helmet, gold rathian chest, furious rajang hands, gold rathian waist, and furious rajang legs(health boost level 3) make sure blight res is on 3 and stun res on 3 you will survive every attack from him
Stun res isn't too useful and you need to be sure your contributing enough for the dps check (a mechanic I dislike but hey its there). Be sure to keep thunder blight off ya since that boost stun values. As long as your not getting hit healing then taking another hit imminently you shouldn't be stunned.
Also of your solo/duo coral horn on your cat is almost free stun immunity.
Another set I'd love to recommend is the GUTS and ELEMENTAL ACCELERATION from 2 piece set bonus from kulve and AT namielle plus a headgear that has the safe landing skill (For Ultra quick recovery time). This combines the utility and the elemental damage needed to deny EJ. Also add in Kjarr weapons for the critical element skill. Good Luck hunting hunters 💪

18 min with the Alatreon LBG (bligh resistance 3, health boost 3, full safi set). Really confi because if you can't break the horns, you just switch the ammo for the element you want.
Not the funniest way to do it, but I just wanted to farm all the materials for both amors and weapons, it really worked!

Can't remember the exact time it took me to complete the quest. I can only remember it took me about 35 min. to complete it solo with only 5 basic skills: health boost, quick sheath, speed eating, stun resist, and element attack.
how the fuck did you get past the DPS checks?! i pass the first but after that i can't get past the 2nd.......
I kill him two times.
First using a sticky LBG build, with narga and artillery secret, using the escaton to restock ammo, in 21 minutes.
And the second was with the alatreon IG using 3 safi parts and 2 alatreon parts in 25 minutes.
Best time was 17mins and 12 seconds. Had full safi'jiiva set fully stacked on attack boost, weakness exploit, fire attack (for obvious reasons), lvl2 blight resistance and coalescence. In duo. It felt good killing that SOB
I was able to Solo last night, my time was 24 min.

I main CB but I didn't have any kjarr weapons for it so I had to learn dual blades just for this fight because I only had the Kjarr Ice dual blades. It worked though
If you are already going safi weapons, why not recommend safi 3 piece + 2 silver rathalos? Safi 3 piece removes the elemental cap, allowing for more damage than true crit does...I think?
I managed to get a sub 10' yesterday using the Ice kjarr Chargeblade with safi armor. After you learn the attacks patterns getting the elemental check is a lot easier.
Tried assignment whole evening, get slapped by Ah Teong and cry in the corner.
Beat him with a group comfortably once, haven't beaten him solo yet. I can get past the second nova most of the time and break both horns but after that, shit hits the fan.
After finally soloing Alatreon, I've got to add him to the love list. Though I hate fighting all the super bosses, I love them all because of everything I had to learn to beat them.
I learned how to tank and be aggressive with a lance fighting Behemoth.
I learned great sword, how to heal and keep track of my party's health instead of just fight beside them and letting them fend for themselves against Extreme Behemoth.
I learned crowd control, how to main heal, and the importance of a farcaster if you run out of materials fighting the Ancient Leshen.
Now with Alatreon I learned how to set for Elemental damage. I learned how great Safi armor is, face-palming when I learned the obvious that you can use health augmented weapons to offset the health drain.
As much as I hate losing repeatedly to these guys, I appreciate how much that force me to learn to be a better hunter.

When should I spam astera jerky while the alatreon doing the Escaton Judgement? I always ended up carted

@@edotendo2196 hmmm, it has been a year since I fought that guy, but if I remember correctly, you should eat the jerky as soon as your health starts depleting, it should shoot you back to full or at least close enough to survive. If it still drains your life too fast, than you didn't meet the dps check, you didn't do enough elemental damage and you will almost always cart regardless if what you do during his judgment.
After killing him consistently my times vary between 13 minutes & 17 minutes. I use full safi armor with Kajarr strongarm water CB (with no water attack up) to get those times. Just used dual blade version today but added the water attack up & it worked out really well. Much safer than the CB when it comes to dodging but the damage output was much lower so took about 25 minutes.
My first and only solo kill had a time completion of 48:58 minutes.
I beat him with a frostcraft build GS in 28 minutes solo and with a group in 9'47"56 with the same build for GS, Awesome build by the way I will try this later on
I can see why people say Alatreon is stupid difficult. The initial special assignment throws you directly into the fight. No chance to safely send a SOS flare, no chance to safely apply buffs. It forces you to form groups which as a solo, is not my style. I can get the element check to survive the super, but even divine blessing and health regen can’t keep me alive long enough to end Alatreon.
The special assignment Alatreon starts off in fire, use ice or dragon.
2 pc gold rathian for survivability, 3 pc raging brach, no carts, dragon hammer, 14 mins.
I used thunder😎
I made his full armor set now. All i have to do is to test it against Alatreon.

I'm trying to break his wings and cut his tail so I can make the set. I have like 30 of every other ingredients, this dragon is annoying

tried fighting it for the first time today and got slapped back to camp 3 times in a row within the first 4 minutes. Barely even managed to hit it at all with the hunting horn... Methinks it's time to grind out some more augments

Currently, there is Kulve Taroth instead of Safi. What I have witnessed that you need one or two of following things to comfortably meet the EDPS check; Frostcraft, (true) elemental crit or just absurb amount of elemental. Despite the "penalties" faster weapons get to the check, you might wanna grab SnS, longsword or DBs if you fail meet the requirements.
Now, For GS user like myself without 100% end game gear and fully polished safi gear, I have noticed that true element crit from Rathalos and Xipa Gladius augemented for health and elemental damage is.. enough. With about 970 ice to boot the check are on comfy range.
Most importantly, GS has easy time breaking those horns. For solo play it seems like to be about 3k damage for first break and 4,5k for second
THe problem with silver rathalos set is the sheer lack of slots to comfily run all you need. In the end, I ended up just getting 20 dragon resists, max stun resistance and crisis FOR UNLIMITED STAMINA and in all honestly... If you have problem for the EDPS check, switch to faster weapon.
The build I killed him with:
Full Safi set with max elemental atk (depending on which element you use)
Safi ice or fire IG with affinity V and element on all the other slots.
Well I mean 5 set safi is the top elemental set, even with Alty existing all 3/2 Safi Alty is comparable and a LOT more comfy but is still a small dps loss.

My solo win was with 5 safi and an ice hammer( kjarr) max level.
Took about 25 minutes? I'd have to check back. I luckily had insurance applied on the hunt. If you can push past the first two judgements, your chances of winning are higher IMO, since you have a couple chances to burn in the kill phase.
I am in my first play and I am on my own got there trying to beat everything alone and the pain and drive is worth everything
Safi set + Kjarr king cb shreds alatreon, I'm MR 87 so no augments and soloed him 17 minutes (pretty bad lol), and did 8 minutes with randoms
9 minutes 39 seconds is my best time for now in solo fight. Did it with kjarr ice charge blade, with a Savage Axe build.
He was tough at first, but after many tries (and by many, I mean 40 to 50 retries), all his attacks were easily readable and I can now beat him every time. I must have soloed him about 20 times.
For those of you who still have trouble with him, just practice. Learn the moves, the "warning" before every move he makes, the timing to dodge, find tactics for certain moments during the fight, etc. It really is a great and fun fight once you know how to beat him.
Velkhana armor worked out well for me. Just be mindful of his starting element. If he starts fire, I would suggest Silver Rathalos gear instead
I love Alatreon. I've managed to beat him solo and with a group, I average 10-13 minutes. I just finished crafting and upgrading his last weapon so now I have both armor sets and every weapon fully upgraded.
Me and a Buddy ran a 12:36 Duo. Not trying to speed run but he was super nice that fight.

As a charge blade main, I can't wait to try the 4 piece Silver Rath set out. I don't trust myself enough with that full Safi set quite yet.

Even then. You could really just slap the health augment on anything fast hitting with safi. I did it with charge blade too. With melees you have to be a bit more careful of course. It still works though👌👍

It took me 47 minutes and I was using the Dominator LBG. That was my only solo kill. Haven't tried him solo since. Killed him 10 times overall.
Personally I used 5 pieces safi for my first clear the day after it was released so I would highly recommend the set especially if you have a kjarr weapon since they have build in critical element after getting used to it’s attacks my and my friends did runs ranging from 12 minute duos and 14-15 minute 4 man each with sealing his element twice before nova

Reminder that an elemental damage cap does exist, so going for both crit element and ________ (insert element) attack +6 could be overkill and send u into the diminishing returns zone
I think safi is an exception I’m not sure tho
@@angelomendoza6666 i know that if u wear safi armor it raises the cap, as for the quest itself im not sure if it has any special rules, i do know that bapcom tweaked the elemental numbers for the quest so u can use any weapon comfortably, so that dual blades wouldnt be the /only/ viable choice
Ive had much better luck with the Vaal Switch Axe over anything else. It also helps with softening Alatreons parts a lot, as it takes just one time to wound it. Stun Resist helped. Def 6 really helps not just with raw defense but the +5 to all resistance, too. You still take dmg from the elements even if you have Blight Res. Its really nice with 2 Hard Defense decorations (lvl 4 deco, +3 each). And make sure if you re in multi, have AT LEAST 1 in Friendship, and try to watch when someone is stunned and stuck on the ice or fire that does the chip dmg. I have a +5 Friendship charm which rerally helps. Not just healing but Dash juice, Atk seeds, not sure if the jerky works with it

Just bring a kjarr weapon and run the teo bracy dps set and put on an ele charm makes it easy to kill him and u don’t have to worry about safi armor killing you
Managed to beat him night two in a two man run with only one cart. Both of us running Ice weapons, GF had the Kjarr ice? and I was using the Strongarm Ice CB. Ran Blight resist and just made sure to wall bang on dragon form, other than that a lot of focus on damage was oure main goal, both had Frost attack maxed. End time was 18 minutes and some seconds?
I'm at 85 kills going for 100! Done frostcraft greatsword, non frostcraft greatsword, charged blade, hunting horn, slapstick gunlance, switch axe, and hammer so far. I will say charged blade got me my fastest kill times, but I find hammer is the "easiest" fight where it's not as stressful.
33 minutes, after as many or more tries, and only because I ate for Felyne Insurance and had the Vigorwasp Spray, still took 4 carts and I thought I was going to cart anyway since he’d made it to the Ice Active phase while I was using the Beo Hatchets II.
I have max safi set and weapons and they are a death sentence. I'm still working on getting a weapon to have health regen bc if anything even sneezes with the safi armor on ill cart lol
I'm really fond of using 3/5 of Safi and switching between 2/5 Val or 2/5 R. Nergi. for the extra regen. I don't think the full set bonus is worth it, although might change my mind once I farm me a tempered Namielle in the guiding lands though
I'm using silver rath set against alatreon too, but I changed one of the parts to namielle gamma for the constitution.
You can totally meet the stage 1 dps check for the first 3 judgement with just 6 points in element attack and a decent elemental weapon,as long as you stay alive and do consistent dps. I would say it's actually no point to use TCE set as it limits you from a lot of survival skill.(like in this build not even hb3...)
Yeah and you can just use kjarr weapons if you really want to fit Crit Ele, TCE isnt really worth it

i think part breaker isnt necessary, since the horns break easily. i would rather take agitator charm and enrage him instead

I've been running this in duos, using ice/fire CB - I've never found the need to run partbreaker. I don't know if this is intrinsic to CB.
As far as damage uptime goes, blight res 3 and a health augmented weapon are key.
My buddy and I consistently do 12 minute runs steadily and comfortably.
(Dragon element is straight garbage)
I'm getting to the half part of the fight, using a set from B.veil val hazak and Gold Rathian. I gemmed in blight resistance and it has divine blessing as well from the Rathian set and a couple of other skills but I still haven't beat him I'm stuck in the special assignment. And with silver Los armor I managed to break one of his horn but he slapped me around with that armor on. Still I have one other set in mind that could help but I need more of Safijiiva parts, Vaal Hazak parts are involved in that one as well.
I used r barchy head and arms gold rath chest and waist and f rajang legs all b set and I used safi weapon for the slots and the team comp was bug and stick for mounts hammer for part barking and stuns dual blades for elemental dps and the last one doesn’t really matter but great sword is good for trying to cut the tail just my advice I killed it enough to get my three weapon that I use and full armor
He is pretty easy for my squad, I run a 5 piece Kulve healer build with some dual blades get speed eating, wide range, stun resist, free meal, dragon attack, Health Boost, and mushroomancer. I also maxed out evade window for some extra comfort. Go in with some dual blades chop his hind legs because they are a bit safer then the front. spam x to heal a damaged team member. (make sure they are running max elemental damage). We clear it almost every time we play and I play with randoms all the time.
Mushrooms work with wide range?
Yes mushrooms mix with wide. Except mandorgo. Or whatever it is that instantly refills. That one only works on you. Nobody else gets it

Like he was saying they all work except the max potion the others all do buffs and if someone is using a stamina based weapon it means they can dps longer, like dual blades or insect glaive. When a team member mounts as well you can eat 1 mushroom to give them back their stamina so you can get a guaranteed down when Alatreon is flying. And that is more free elemental damage. With an insect glaive a stun weapon and enough elemental damage it is possible to get 3 to 4 knocks each phase.
As a side note my team uses Alatreon armor the full set I've seen mixed builds work as well but the reason is this monster really only uses elemental attacks you slot in plenty of elemental resistances which helps your damage. The interesting thing I haven't seen talked about is that if you have a high enough elemental resistance the attacks can't give you a blight. This keeps your damage output high thanks to the set bonus and gives you a very tanky build.
3 pieces of safi, 2 pieces gold rathian, and kjarr fire sword. 28 minutes solo. was not pretty but got it done
Its been months and at least 100-200 attempts and i haven’t done it, i literally USE charge blade as my main and i can’t get the dps checks, he just attacks so often that i hardly get a good opening and for some reason he ALWAYS switches to dragon super early for some reason
I don't think the issue with Alatreon is going to be so much your armor skills so much as individual reaction times. Some of his attack queues are really fast and he hard focuses hunters with low HP. The wide sweeping fire attack has a questionable hit box and his 180 lunges are annoying
Do you just use the Ice Safi CB? You just say change the decos when you face fire Al.
partbreaker is useless. You gotta hit the horn! not the chin, or the face, the freaking horn! best way is knock him down and then go over its head and bash the "horn", it breaks fairly easely easely.
I don't get how people use safi, I eve tried the "invincible hammer" build and I never get to the fully healed thing to proc it's always just instant death
