After almost 10 years of hard work my NMX from Dynamic Perception finally died, the alternative without buying a brand new system was to get a Black Forest Pine II and in this video I am showing you what's good about it!
I purchase the Pine II controller about 2 years ago. It works flawlessly with my DP setup. I currently use the Saphire Pro, stage R's and the BF focus motor. I recently bought a third party 27:1 motor for the DP slider and adapted it. The app enables a custom amp settings for the motor. I use my LR Timelapse intervalometer and my Timelapse+View intervalometer in slave mode with this unit. The only caviot is that I can't track the sun or the moon as I did using the NMX controller with the Timelapse+View interface in the timelapse app. So I am trying to find another way around that. Other than that this Pine II controller works great and functions very silently. Worth the money. DP does have the best system for my needs. Now I would love to find a source for spare roller bearings and parts ect.
Awesome. I got my BMF kit in January. So far only tested focus gear, it works perfectly to create focus-pulling timelapse.
Nice! The focus-pulling is something that I haven’t tried yet, I am so curious to use it! 😊
@@MattiaBicchi you gotta get one! (I should set up a BFM affiliate link :-)
Looks like a great solution. And 75 instead of 3000, thats not a little bit :D
Ahah yes, definitely way cheaper than upgrade the full kit! 😜
Thank you, can you tell me if it runs the motors quieter? The NMX seemed to be very noisy, unusable for live video,
Hi! Yes, It is a bit quieter, but even more quieter with their motors..
I came across this video looking for DP alternative. I'm looking for a modular breakdown rail like DP. Since it looks like they are no longer in business, is there any other solution for such a modular rail that I could use with the pine controller? I'm looking to use it with 360 camera. From 5ft to 12ft. At a speed around 30sec to 1 min for 5ft and still be able to do 1 to 2 hour timelapse all across the rail.
I wish I could give you an answer because I am also looking for an alternative to Stage One, Still have mine since 2014. I hope BlackForest will make one in the future.
@@MattiaBicchi I asked them yesterday. They plan to do it. Maybe next year..
Awesome!! 🤞🤞💪
Hey everyone. Does anyone know if there's an alternative to the dynamic perception Sapphire pro which can be used on the stage 1 plus?
Alternatively does anyone have one for sale? Thanks.
Hi! As portable as the sapphire I don’t think so unfortunately, but you can check the Emotimo or the pan and til from Black Forest Motion. I think are the two best option out there at the moment if you have a DP slider.
Thank you so much for your reply. So I'm assuming I wouldn't need the nmx controller if I do use one of them? Is that correct? Thanks again :)
My pleasure! The NMX controls only DP stuff. The emotimo will control everything, so no need of the NMX, same with the BFM, you will need the Pine II to control the pan and tilt
Thank you so much for your help :) I appreciate it!
