The fact that scammer payback took down a congressman from a country on the other side of the planet is actually insane and it deserves to be talked about more than it has!!!

My mom was stopped at the bank by the bank employee right before she was about to wire $50,000 to a group like this. I have had her subscribed to your channel ever since. Thank you so much for what you do
Respect to that bamk teller. For me: Every time I get a scam text, email, robo-call, suspect link on any site... I call my Mom and walk her through the details. She is under orders not to ever click on a link or complete her details anywhere she hasn't gone to by her own choice. All her activity is on Apps she trusts and her desktop is 100% favorites to safe sites. She must also call me if anything she has never seen before comes up. I can do no more. What more can any of us do? ^.^
Worked in banks before. I have stopped many of these frauds and saved many customers from falling victims to these scams. however many customers still believed the scammers more than they believed their local bankers. I have seen people lose their life savings, their retirement funds and their little emergency funds that may have. Whoever said “ it’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they’ve been fooled” is absolutely spot on. I spent HOURS trying to convince customers that they were getting scammed yet they believed the scammers over me. So sad.
Totally ! People go crazy and almost don’t want to admit their mistake. Like a brain block or something. Well done for trying to get through, it’s all you can do. As they say you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink !!
Same thing happened when I worked for an insurance company for seniors. The amount of them that lost funds given to them by the company, and just gave their personal info out calling back for help was crazy.

You’re amazing. I was scammed $9700 and was sickened that people do this for a living. I’m embarrassed by how far they got with me - they successfully instilled fear and a sense of urgency in me. You do amazing work. Thank you for caring.
That's exactly what they teach sales people to do they want to make the person feel a sense of urgency and they want to give them a sense of fear it's called the takeaway basically you say here I have this nice shiny whatever and you can have it now for only $97 and say you come back with well I'd have to talk to my husband first and then the person instills fear in you by saying well unfortunately we don't have time to wait for your husband to get home from work because we only have a few of these packages left so if you don't take it on this call unfortunately it's going to be gone so I'm here to offer it to you now and if you'd like I can book you with this package or I can you know sell you this last one of three that we have left but I can't you know wait until 5:00 when your husband gets home because it won't be there anymore so that's the fear that you have that oh gosh and the urgency basically I've got to get it now or I won't be able to get it at all and that's a really good price and that's really pretty and yada yada yada so that's exactly the two things that they were taught to make a customer feel a sense of they need it and they need it now and if they don't get it they're not going to be able to so right there urgency and fear so you said it all That's what they teach salespeople to make customers feel like. I did talk to text so I hope that came out right because I didn't use any punctuation lol sorry

Something with high tactics regarding my credit information was hacked by hackers need to provide to them money to counter my information being misused
@@chantelarchuleta6533 Whatever you do DON'T SEND MONEY to anyone claiming to help you "counter your information being misused". You can always cancel your credit card and order a new one, and you can always freeze your credit score, but it's very hard to get your money back after you send personally send it. It sounds like you are being lied to about these "hackers", and the true "hacker" is the person asking you to send them money. A good rule of thumb is, if somebody contacts you and claims you have a problem that you didn't know about until they called, and that same person also claims they can solve this problem for you if you pay them, then they are attempting to scam you: >A real ambulance driver would never ring your doorbell, tell you that you have cancer, and then ask you to pay them in cash to take you to the hospital. >A real policeman would never call you, tell you that criminals are after you, and then tell you that you need to send him money so that he can protect you. >A real Tech employee/IRS agent would never contact you saying that your credit information was hacked by hackers, and you need to provide them money so they can counter your information being misused. In the future, if someone is claiming to represent a legitimate company trying to help you, don't call them back using the number they gave you, or reply via the email that they sent to you. Instead, google the company's contact info and contact them using the contact information you find on the company's website, this way you can be sure of who you're talking to. Most importantly, I recommend you always contact a trusted friend or family member who is good with computers/technology and ask them for help & advice before you do anything like send money online or download anti-virus/security software.
Don't be giving them any money, do you think they'll stop once you've gave them money, they will just keep coming back for more and more till they've cleaned you out@chantelarchuleta6533

This is the good stuff. I'm a former deputy sheriff, and I know how it feels to come across information that needs to be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. Its like defusing a bomb and the timer is down to seconds when you clip the last wire, or racing to a run where a woman is in her closet, on the phone with 911, and there is an intruder forcing entry with the intent to do serious harm and you are 3 or 4 minutes out running 100 mph and they are 2 minutes and 30 seconds from gaining entry. It gets intense. 😵 But that's what you're in the game for. To stick it to em right when they think they've pulled it off.
absolutely love how scam baiting has grown towards actually helping people and putting these scumbags in jail. years ago it was all about trolling scammers and wasting their time and now it's all about truly holding these bad actors accountable.
both is good, more people doing whatever they can in their capacity (whether its trolling or extensive investigations leading to arrests) is good, if someone wastes a scammer's time, they might have just saved someone from actually getting scammed that day.
Yeah I think it's the same type of people who do both. They do what they can, in their current situation and within their means to try to stop, or at least interfere with, these scammer's daily dealings. As more people gravitate towards content like this, and as these people amass more funding and bigger and more skilled/connected teams, they up their game. It's been cool to be able to witness the evolution of these guys over the last few years, and hope they can take it much further in the future! Same with Kit and everyone, they are all seeming to be pushing the boundaries as much as they can as time goes on. :)

@dianahoward6024 that's a hard one to answer. I think I'm fairly cautious, but they got me again just before Christmas. Tech is advancing so fast that it's difficult to really protect yourself. They can call you with AI and make you think it's your mom calling. They got me last time by calling me on a familiar number that wasn't really that number. Didn't know they could fake that.

A good rule of thumb is, if somebody contacts you and claims you have a problem that you didn't know about until they called, and that same person also claims they can solve this problem for you if you pay them, then they are attempting to scam you:
>A real ambulance driver would never ring your doorbell, tell you that you have cancer, and then ask you to pay them in cash to take you to the hospital.
There's no way scamming could thrive to such a scale without the Indian authorities being involved as co-conspirators.

Perfect analogy.
absolutely love how scam baiting has grown towards actually helping people and putting these scumbags in jail. years ago it was all about trolling scammers and wasting their time and now it's all about truly holding these bad actors accountable.
both is good, more people doing whatever they can in their capacity (whether its trolling or extensive investigations leading to arrests) is good, if someone wastes a scammer's time, they might have just saved someone from actually getting scammed that day.
It seems like a natural progression. Both are good but of course the raiding is amazing.

Exactly. My friend who's overall a very smart person was moments away from getting scammed while doing work for DoorDash. Someone called him pretending to be "Dasher support". @@kylemccormack1785 thank you for your reaction. It wasn't like this situation, it was someone I met online. So stupid. The hardest thing was to tell my 2 sons of 16 and 13 that I just lost so much money to someone that didn't exist. And even have to ask money in the following period from their mother with whom I ended the relationship with after 23years. I most admit I came close to stepping out of everything at moments, I was so ashamed of myself. I couldn't even look at myself I the mirror in the morning without starting to cry. The worst thing is that my bank didn't believe me and kicked me out because they thought I was in on a online scam while I was the victim. I almost lost my house, had to ask so many people to help me out. I just started a business that I was planning for 5or 5 years but that completely failed because of all that. So I'm trying to get back to my life like it was 2years ago, it will take me another year before I m back and paid everybody that borrowed me something.
