biggups... Kenyan fan here... keep going
Thanks to algorithm gods…….fellow Kenyan 🇰🇪immigrants with a similar story…but slowly leveling up!
Love it Shikoh 🇰🇪 That’s great to hear - we’re very resilient people! 🙏🏿
Denis this by far was the best video, I'm blown away by your honesty and origin story. I look forward to seeing Stephanie's story as well. You are so right that none of these tools were available to my generation growing up. And unfortunately, decisions were based on family and friends, due to a lack of know-how to achieve things. I remember my father at a young age squashing my dreams to become a pilot by saying " son you should probably aim lower". Not even entertaining looking into what things I would need to achieve this goal. I have been very blessed to be in my late 40"s have a beautiful family, investments, a house, and a great job allowing me quite a bit of freedom. However, what you two are doing is inspiring others at a young age to dream big and don't just accept the 9 to 5. Bravo, I'm a fan for life.
Thanks Marc! 🙏🏿 Damn, it's crazy to think about 'aiming lower', but it's a reality for a lot of people, and a lot of the time it's out of necessity.
@@stephandden It's crazy but we did not have internet back then and my parents were just tired from work and the thought of them doing research ended there. The opportunities are endless now if you want to fly and work hard. Before people would be working hard but blindly without a clear path or people to guide them.
Appreciate the intensely personal story. This resonates with a lot of first and second generation millennials and Gen-Zs in their 20s. Living in the shitty apartments, not enough money for field trips or eating out, etc. glad to finally be on the other side of things as an educated, professional able to afford things comfortably that I once took as a luxury. Loved this video - keep it up Den
🙏🏿 Glad to hear you've on the other side of things 👏🏿 and thank you!
Thanks for sharing Den. You and steph are doing a massive service to society.
Thanks so much, Marvin 😊
I truly enjoy the content you put out. You are both so personable. I enjoyed learning about your struggles and how you set a plan to overcome and succeed. Great job on another great video.
Thanks so much 😊
Very encouraging, real talk. Thanks Den!
And congrats on the success so far.
Thanks, Jessica! 🙌🏿
Den, this is by far my fav video! Thanks for sharing your story and congrats on all your success. I started following you and Steph since Millennial Money and to see you both grow and achieve your goals, I am a proud Torontonian subscriber! You both deserve all these blessing and more, keep up the great work and content.
Thanks, Diane! 🙏🏿 we appreciate it!
Hi Den! I was super inspired by your and Steph's journey! I paid off $43,000 of student loan debt in 20 months. COVID really kicked my ass in full gear- and your videos helped me during those lockdown months. Thanks for the inspiration!
⬆️⤴️Thanks for the review⤴️Do well to reach out to JIM my trusted investment broker, he will bring you to a cost effective strategy. i recommend him☝️☝️💯💯💯💯
Such an incredible story. Thank you for sharing! Your parents are incredible 💕
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏿
Thanks for this video!!! I was at a standstill,career-wise, but now, I’m pumped for change🙏🏿🙂👍🏿
Amazing! There’s good things ahead 🎉🎉
Talk about building generational wealth here! So inspirational! We need more content like this on UA-cam!
🙏🏿🙏🏿 yes to that!
Incredibly proud of you, Den, for sharing your story as well as your resilience. I totally agree with you from 9.30 onwards (Life Decisions at 17) especially if you're a first-generation university student. I am, myself one, and I think that it is unfair how an obvious inequality exists between those individuals who have more resources and consequently networks than those who are emerging from unique circumstances like intergenerational poverty, and frankly, do not have the necessary support or resource mechanisms in place to make a decision like which degree they want to pursue. Obviously, this calls for a greater conversation, but this is definitely one of my favourite videos from you and Steph. Keep it up you two, love the videos!
Thanks so much, Fauzia! Appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts. More to come! 🙏🏿🙌🏻
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! As an immigrant, this resonated with me so much and made me super emotional. So happy to see how far you've come on your journey! Like always it was amazing!
Thanks so much, Ava! Appreciate you watching 🙏🏿
Great video! I'm set to graduate this year and you guys actually make me excited to start this new phase of life!
We love hearing that! Good luck with the new phase coming soon 🎉
From one immigrant to another, I understand how hard you’ve worked and you deserve all your blessings 🙏🏽
🙏🏿 thanks man!
This video was so relatable. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your journey (both the challenges and the success you've had so far) Very inspiring because I also was in a position of being in debt, no knowledge of investing and felt that I wasn't making enough in my career. Now, I'm on track to be in a better place with more financial security, but the journey is not easy. Thank you for continuing to spread your knowledge and educate us all!
Thanks, Eleanor! Happy to hear you're doing well, too 🙏🏿
Great vid Den. Thanks for this 🙏🏿
Thank you! 🙏🏿
Congrats Den, amazing story!
Thanks, Carlos! 😊
Wow, What a journey! Can’t believe our little tremblant adventure actually ended up in one of videos years later 😂
Amazing video and story telling 🙌🏽
Who would've thought 👀🙌🏿

Ha, thank you! 🙌🏿
LOVE THIS
Everyone has a story. thank you so much for sharing yours. Truely inspiring 💪
Yessir, thank you! 🙌🏿
This story resonates with me so much. I was born in Canada but my parents were struggling immigrants. Our origins are different but our story is very similar. Den's family probably experienced more hardship than my parents... My school to work route was also the exact opposite (attended school in Toronto but found the career in Ottawa...lol)
Hey Marvin! Glad you could resonate with this 😊
Pick this up UA-cameee!! Old sub & so happy for you two
🙏🏿🤞🏿 thank you so much!
Loved this video! Thank you for being transparent and I can only hope to make it to having financial freedom one day
Thank you! 🙏🏿
Wow👏👏what a journey it has been..
Great inspiration
Thanks, Alex 🙌🏿🙏🏿
I appreciated this back story!
Thanks, Susanna! 🙏🏿
Still waiting for that Neo Financial review video lol, but honestly this is such an inspiring story. Thanks for sharing!
Ha, we can do that soon! Thanks for watching 😊
Would love to see those OG video from 2016 😂But jokes aside, this was a great video to watch. This channel is one of my favourites because I feel like in your 20s it is so difficult to find people that are interested in finance.
Also, going from -40k to 30k in 3 years is amazing. Not many people can say they have saved 70k in 3 years.
HA, they're great to look back on! Thanks so much Cindy 🙏🏿 we love seeing your comments!
Dude your channel is going though amazing growth in style and identity !!! Love the story telling perspective 🎉
Thanks Edwin! That's what we want to hear 🎉
You inspire me . Great Canadian hope.
Thank you 😊
kinda figured your background....asante sana for sharing your story (ah-ya)
🙏🏿 thanks for watching!
incredible video here man - appreciate you sharing this
🙏🏿 thanks so much!
A walking legend. Respect to you sir.

Very interesting. Loved it every minutes of it.
Thank you! 🙌🏿
It's been months since I subcribed to this channel because of how genuine and valuable your content is🔥. I am Kenyan and I had no idea you have a Kenyan descent. Asante sana for your amazing content. Love from KE!
🙌🏿🙏🏿 we appreciate that! Thanks man!
Proud of you Den! As a child of African immigrants, I know how hard our parents worked! They are so proud of you, keep killing it!
Thanks so much! 🙌🏿🙏🏿
I saw y’all on Front St going to grocery store lol
Sounds like that was us 😊 yell hi next time!
Ayy Kenya! I'm from TZ!

Hey fellow Millionaires 🥲. Glory to God 😭 beautiful story Dennis! Waiting for more content😉 #InchargeofourDestiny
👀🙏🏿
Love the video! What do you use to edit?
Thank you! We edit with Adobe Premiere Pro 😊
Ah the snapback reselling era. Had a classmate sell some Fugazzi sports team snap backs. Anybody else have this back then? Grade 8 and 9’s couldn’t tell the difference bought them
Really appreciate 14:03 thanks for that segment. Planning to do this strategy too saving for a cushion like Steve.
HA, classic 😂 you gotta do what you've gotta do.
And love to hear that 👏🏿
Fellow Kenyan here!!
🙏🏿🇰🇪
Amazing story thus far Den! Steph's turn next!!!
🙌🏿 yes, we've got to get her's on here too!
Great video Den. your journey is really inspiring. I just going over my first month here in Canada coming from Colombia as recent engineer graduate. And sometimes I started thinking is the only path to become successful at early age is following one of the path that are currently trading right now. and I feel that fo me that's is something I wouldn't be passionate about and we just see the successful stories. I'm truly honor to be in this country and what I ve accomplished so far. And as right now I'm truly focus on learning as much as possible because I truly believe that success can be found in any row if you put your mind and soul to it. Great to be in this channel from the beginning and please keep sharing and inspiring us!
Thanks so much for this comment - we appreciate it! So glad you found our channel and love to hear that you’re on your own grind 🙏🏿👏🏿
Wow, Dennis, this is a great video. You took the time to tell us about your journey from Kenya to Canada and how you've made a lot of money along the way. I hope you continue doing well. I also hope that this video will be seen by a lot of people who have never heard of or seen your channel. That is a great way to title the video; the algorithm with probably put it in the results of when someone searches: "how to change my life". I hope you and Stephanie continue succeeding in these UA-cam streets. I, myself, started watching this channel last year when I was scrolling my Facebook feed and your CNBC video came up as an ad. I'm glad I found this channel. I love watching your videos so much that I even get sad when there's no upload on a Wednesday or Sunday. Keep up the great work and continue staying strong and proud of who you are and continue motivating all of us to be financially sound in our money and investment goals.
Also, have you guys thought about doing a livestream or doing the quick-takes again? That would be exciting to watch. #IKNOWTHEVIBES
Thanks man, I really appreciate it 🙏🏿 we love seeing your comments every week #youdoknowthevibes
And we definitely want to do something where we just talk it out more in the future! We're focusing on ramping up our usual long form videos right now, but a live stream is a good idea for the future 😊
AYOOOO who else remembers that $65/month newspaper job hahaha it was crazyyy! and i did Mcdonalds too!
HA, seriously - realizing how many hours went into making $65/month was crazy 👀
Commenting for the algo... Also, nice video!
🙏🏿🙏🏻 we appreciate you!
You guys are awesome . I’m a GenX who just transitioned from one of the four banks to EQ fir HISA. I’m now looking into your investments options since I no longer have debts 😝👍🙌🏾.
Amazing, we love hearing that!! That's awesome, and a huge congrats on both of those big wins 🙌🏿🙌🏻
I got into your channel I think around the time the millennial money video dropped and it's been a journey my guy. Heck check the comfort levels you have with the camera from then till now, the identity of the channel slowly but surely took shape and I'm mad proud being able to cheer you guys on. Hongera sana, let's keep at it!!!
Thanks man, love that you've stuck around since then! 🙏🏿 We appreciate it!
Congrats for your achievements from nothing and keep it going
Thank you 🙌🏿 much appreciated!
Hiii Den thanks for a great video definitely can related I'm on my own grind here in the UK . By the way we are neighbours lol 😆 I'm Somalia 🇸🇴.
Hey! That's awesome, I love to hear that - keep pushing 👏🏿
I lived 4 hours away in Windsor and was an immigrant as well. I would deliver the newspapers for 25$ a week too! it was brutal, the packaging the walking for hours, was SO much work. So grateful to be where I am at now. Ik corporate has a bad rep, but started from the bottom now we here!
loved this video, I am in the same place of trying to aggressively grow and im sure those who have the mindset can do it
It's crazy to realize how much went into it looking back! The money felt so good at the time 😅
Thank you! 🙏🏿
im your cousin from UK
Hey cousin! 👋🏿
@@stephandden you were born in kenya right? Yeah, im your first cousin. Heard about channel from a family member. Anyway, great content
I was born in Kenya my life's so much harder then yours. Really
It's funny how your journey similar to how poor Kenya was back in '01 and experienced a lot of economic change in those two decades
Ya, I was there in 2019 and it looks so different - I'm sure even seeing it now 3 years later there'd be even more crazy differences! Do you live in Kenya? 😊
@@stephandden Yeah, live in Nairobi, just finishing my bachelors degree in CS
Kanye West? Dude. Calling that guy a "philosopher" is a *bit* of a stretch LOL.
that was the whole point…it’s a joke lol
