Denis this by far was the best video, I'm blown away by your honesty and origin story. I look forward to seeing Stephanie's story as well. You are so right that none of these tools were available to my generation growing up. And unfortunately, decisions were based on family and friends, due to a lack of know-how to achieve things. I remember my father at a young age squashing my dreams to become a pilot by saying " son you should probably aim lower". Not even entertaining looking into what things I would need to achieve this goal. I have been very blessed to be in my late 40"s have a beautiful family, investments, a house, and a great job allowing me quite a bit of freedom. However, what you two are doing is inspiring others at a young age to dream big and don't just accept the 9 to 5. Bravo, I'm a fan for life.
@@stephandden It's crazy but we did not have internet back then and my parents were just tired from work and the thought of them doing research ended there. The opportunities are endless now if you want to fly and work hard. Before people would be working hard but blindly without a clear path or people to guide them.
Hi Den! I was super inspired by your and Steph's journey! I paid off $43,000 of student loan debt in 20 months. COVID really kicked my ass in full gear- and your videos helped me during those lockdown months. Thanks for the inspiration!
⬆️⤴️Thanks for the review⤴️Do well to reach out to JIM my trusted investment broker, he will bring you to a cost effective strategy. i recommend him☝️☝️💯💯💯💯
Appreciate the intensely personal story. This resonates with a lot of first and second generation millennials and Gen-Zs in their 20s. Living in the shitty apartments, not enough money for field trips or eating out, etc. glad to finally be on the other side of things as an educated, professional able to afford things comfortably that I once took as a luxury. Loved this video - keep it up Den
Incredibly proud of you, Den, for sharing your story as well as your resilience. I totally agree with you from 9.30 onwards (Life Decisions at 17) especially if you're a first-generation university student. I am, myself one, and I think that it is unfair how an obvious inequality exists between those individuals who have more resources and consequently networks than those who are emerging from unique circumstances like intergenerational poverty, and frankly, do not have the necessary support or resource mechanisms in place to make a decision like which degree they want to pursue. Obviously, this calls for a greater conversation, but this is definitely one of my favourite videos from you and Steph. Keep it up you two, love the videos!
This video was so relatable. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your journey (both the challenges and the success you've had so far) Very inspiring because I also was in a position of being in debt, no knowledge of investing and felt that I wasn't making enough in my career. Now, I'm on track to be in a better place with more financial security, but the journey is not easy. Thank you for continuing to spread your knowledge and educate us all!
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! As an immigrant, this resonated with me so much and made me super emotional. So happy to see how far you've come on your journey! Like always it was amazing!
Would love to see those OG video from 2016 😂But jokes aside, this was a great video to watch. This channel is one of my favourites because I feel like in your 20s it is so difficult to find people that are interested in finance. Also, going from -40k to 30k in 3 years is amazing. Not many people can say they have saved 70k in 3 years.
Den, this is by far my fav video! Thanks for sharing your story and congrats on all your success. I started following you and Steph since Millennial Money and to see you both grow and achieve your goals, I am a proud Torontonian subscriber! You both deserve all these blessing and more, keep up the great work and content.
I truly enjoy the content you put out. You are both so personable. I enjoyed learning about your struggles and how you set a plan to overcome and succeed. Great job on another great video.
This story resonates with me so much. I was born in Canada but my parents were struggling immigrants. Our origins are different but our story is very similar. Den's family probably experienced more hardship than my parents... My school to work route was also the exact opposite (attended school in Toronto but found the career in Ottawa...lol)
It's been months since I subcribed to this channel because of how genuine and valuable your content is🔥. I am Kenyan and I had no idea you have a Kenyan descent. Asante sana for your amazing content. Love from KE!
Ah the snapback reselling era. Had a classmate sell some Fugazzi sports team snap backs. Anybody else have this back then? Grade 8 and 9’s couldn’t tell the difference bought them Really appreciate 14:03 thanks for that segment. Planning to do this strategy too saving for a cushion like Steve.
You guys are awesome . I’m a GenX who just transitioned from one of the four banks to EQ fir HISA. I’m now looking into your investments options since I no longer have debts 😝👍🙌🏾.
Wow, Dennis, this is a great video. You took the time to tell us about your journey from Kenya to Canada and how you've made a lot of money along the way. I hope you continue doing well. I also hope that this video will be seen by a lot of people who have never heard of or seen your channel. That is a great way to title the video; the algorithm with probably put it in the results of when someone searches: "how to change my life". I hope you and Stephanie continue succeeding in these UA-cam streets. I, myself, started watching this channel last year when I was scrolling my Facebook feed and your CNBC video came up as an ad. I'm glad I found this channel. I love watching your videos so much that I even get sad when there's no upload on a Wednesday or Sunday. Keep up the great work and continue staying strong and proud of who you are and continue motivating all of us to be financially sound in our money and investment goals. Also, have you guys thought about doing a livestream or doing the quick-takes again? That would be exciting to watch. #IKNOWTHEVIBES
Thanks man, I really appreciate it 🙏🏿 we love seeing your comments every week #youdoknowthevibes And we definitely want to do something where we just talk it out more in the future! We're focusing on ramping up our usual long form videos right now, but a live stream is a good idea for the future 😊

I got into your channel I think around the time the millennial money video dropped and it's been a journey my guy. Heck check the comfort levels you have with the camera from then till now, the identity of the channel slowly but surely took shape and I'm mad proud being able to cheer you guys on. Hongera sana, let's keep at it!!!
Great video Den. your journey is really inspiring. I just going over my first month here in Canada coming from Colombia as recent engineer graduate. And sometimes I started thinking is the only path to become successful at early age is following one of the path that are currently trading right now. and I feel that fo me that's is something I wouldn't be passionate about and we just see the successful stories. I'm truly honor to be in this country and what I ve accomplished so far. And as right now I'm truly focus on learning as much as possible because I truly believe that success can be found in any row if you put your mind and soul to it. Great to be in this channel from the beginning and please keep sharing and inspiring us!
I lived 4 hours away in Windsor and was an immigrant as well. I would deliver the newspapers for 25$ a week too! it was brutal, the packaging the walking for hours, was SO much work. So grateful to be where I am at now. Ik corporate has a bad rep, but started from the bottom now we here!
