I was raised on GI Joe since I was five years old. This dude has done the research! Deep references to things that happened in the comics and a true, obvious love of the material. Wordburglar is like that figurine you had to mail in for... unique, awesome and one of a goddamn kind! The Joes would fear you and Cobra would be lucky to have you!

SAME! I collected the comics nearly from day 1! Several action figures. My Dad read GI Joe too - now one thing I think gets overlooked a lot is the quality of those comics. Certainly aimed at kids but - honestly I learned a lot of vocabulary from reading them, and in grade school when we had spelling bees I was often the only one in my class that knew certain words, from reading the comics hahaha. The tv show wasnt nearly as good as the comic. Even as a kid I thought the cartoon was dumbed down. I gave your comment a thumbs up.

Growing up with this G.I. Joe I loved all the references, from Cold Slither in the chorus to the mention of Billy of all people. And the Rattlers and Mambas really made this video just awesome.

As a life-long Joe fan, I appreciate the thorough blending of the original toy line, Sunbow cartoon, Marvel Comic, and even up to the Pursuit of Cobra line of figures.

This Crimsonguard wants more. I do not even like rap but I liked this! You sure brought my morale up. My few Cobra enthusiasts here could use the morale boost. Your video not only sounded great, it looked great. I once owned every piece of equipment and nearly every figure you mentioned but I suffered a house fire and lost nearly all of it. That included two complete, original night ravens and a partial terror dome, a Crimson MBT, and much more. Watching your video brought back sweet memories of crushing GI Joe in numerous backyard battles that often lasted fore hours. Sure, I lost a few, but not many and I never allowed CC to come to harm. He was always guarded by a phalanx of Crimsonguard that the GI Joes could never penetrate. Plus, I am a trained US Infantryman and none of the GI joe team had any real military experience.
I was first introduced to the world of GI Joe during the Viet Nam era. He was 12" tall and had Kung Fu grip, underwear that was molded on, and was being pushed away from military adventures and into adventures as an explorer, a doctor, an archeologist, etc. There were still a lot of weapons and military accessories available, but they were being de-emphasized in favor of non-military ones. Instead of the tank, they were pushing the space capsule. He nearly disappeared for a while, just like toy guns in general, as antiwar sentiment swept the nation and parents began blaming toys, cartoons, and comic books for violence. The last thing any parent wanted was for their child to look to a soldier as a hero and want to be one himself one day.
When GI joe came out again as a 3.75" figure, I will admit I was disappointed. I soon began to admire the look of the Cobra figures and equipment and the stories in the comic books and on the cartoon. I became a fan of Cobra pretty quickly. The Commander was usually a lot smarter and deadlier in the comics and he did not have the same voice as Starscream, so I began to favor him heavily over the cartoon version. Besides, the comic version of Cobra actually managed to kill people. The ones on TV were worse shots than the A-Team!

As a life long GI Joe fan who doesn't normally like rap music I have to say this was awesome. Truly one of the most creative fanvids I've seen in a long while.
