THIS is just one reason you should NEVER have BOTH earned in at anytime you're out in public. You cannot hear anything around you that might be a warning. I am NOT victim blaming! I'm a Survivor of an attack. I'm betting that if she'd had sensed danger she may have been able to outrun this piece of human garbage. We have 6 girls grown. We always warned them not to have both ears plugged, and NOT TO have their faces in their phones walking to their cars. Not to sit in their cars and read or listen to their phones. There was no reason for this guy to even BE in the US. That in itself is both maddening, and so frustrating!
People wear earbuds for the purpose of not hearing the world around them and have been wearing them for decades. It's not a safety issue to wear ear buds unless you're riding a bike or driving, this man was "hunting" for a woman. This was a radom attack and people aren't less safe if they wear earbuds in public going about their business. Not going to alter my life for a murderer and fyi there are earbuds that you can hear ambient sounds around you.
Citizens statistically cause way more issues in this country. It's not an immigrant issue, it's a gross human issue. No reason to bring immigration into it. He didn't do this bc he's an immigrant, he did it because he has problems.
