Here are a couple of updates: #9 Malta Beseiged was been given an upgrade by Worthington Games #11 Carrier and #15 Tokyo Express are being updated by Jon Southard (the designer) and will be released by Compass Games. Carrier: Philippine Sea is being released soon. It is the third release by Jon Southard.

Nice ranking, most are my favourites. I don't know if Pacific War can fall into the category of (also) naval games but you forgot Beneath the med (Italian submarines in the Mediterranean).
Yes, I did... sorry. And, yes it is a great game about Italian submarine during WWII, well from the same family as The Hunters, Hunted and Silent Victory... they all are great tactical and strategical games, however in my opinion Hunted is the most challenging. How do you think?
This is a wonderful list at the strategic and submarine level. I would like to see something like this about the actual ship-level combats. Surely there must be games baaed on the various classes of actual ships, boats and the like. The Italian torpedo drivers seem to be the only thing at that level. Regards
I think you need to be careful to note that some of the game components you show are not part of the game; i.e The Silent Hunters. The main “board” you show is not part of the game and neither are the blocks. Since I’m not familiar with all the games I’m not sure us this is true if others. Other than that, good video.
Indeed, the Silent Victory one stood at as being a fan made version. Also note that The Hunters had components from both first and second printing, the latter had improved accuracy in the U-boat depictions.
😅Sorry, not included... but I should, sometimes it is hard, cause making video you aim for some good, round number for list like 5, 10, 15, .... 100 😂 and then, very often, are situations when you must leave a nice games outside the top. Play Fleet commander Nimitz 1st edition or third Edition. 2nd edition is unplayable.
