मूवी देख कर रोना आ गया था बहुत sad story he
इससे पहल या पीछेे भी पति पत्नी के बीच गलतफहमियों पर आधारित कई सफल फिल्में बन चुकी है और शायद इन्हें सराहने भर के योग्य तो समझा गया पर वे अपना अच्छा प्रभाव नहीं छोड़ पाई।एक बार जब विश्वास की डोर टूट जाए तो चाहे उन्हें जितनी भी सुन्दरता से जोड़ों, गांठ रह और दिख ही जाती है।और कभी कभी तो इसके इतने भयावह परिणाम देखने को मिलते हैं कि सारी जिंदगी नर्क से भी गई गुजरी लगने लगती है।

Great movie
some salient features:
1. Just watch acting between Nargis and Balraj Sahani; when they are together. Facial expression of each is one of a kind. What a rare combination.
2. lesson for a workaholic husband. Need to think about home obligation as well.
3.Common sense is not very common. A person can be good in his profession. such as law, medicine, engineering and others ; however he may lack in people skill, understanding men and women psychology and could be paranoid.
4. What kind of lawyer is he; who makes decision without listening the side of story of another party( Nargis in this particular instance)? The way he behaves professionally is quite different than he behaves in personal life. His personal life may have been affected by primitive society of 50's .I suppose, current era is no different than previous era.
5. Acting of Kumari Naaz is also quite admiring. Those were the days of pure talent.
5. Misunderstanding with offspring may be common and need skill to solve it.
6. I must admit that even though the core of the story is good; the movie contains full of masala, drama and exaggeration. In real life; misunderstanding of the daughter would have been solved through mutual talk of ayah, Nargis and Balraj including his friend. However, masala is needed for box office success. Need to make profit to sustain.
7. At the end; no one cares about Ayah. Where she could go in her old age ? The point is the viewers do not perceive the movie so deeply. All they want is drama. tears, suspense, fairly good story, good acting and dancing with a bit of comedy.(that what this movie offers)

I am still at half time in the movie, and it has bothred me quite a bit, how a well experienced lawyer would not listen to the other side, and act as prosecutor, and judge combined. The fact that he later may repent doesn't cancel his initial rash behaviour.

Classa,
Typical Indian male. He thinks the universe revolves around him. Even when he thinks his wife is dead he is worried about her not forgiving him before she died. Always he wants to hide his part in the breakup of the marriage. The theme is based on the Ramayana. Nargis has acted well. She overshadows Balraj in this film. Balraj also does well to portray the workaholic self absorbed person who has a wife more as an adornment in the house rather than a soulmate. But the weakness of the character does not sit well on Balraj so he looks a tad uncomfortable in the role. Balraj was a great personality with a strong character and this flawed everyday type of man was not really his type. But he does try to do justice to the character. Anyway nice to see these wonderful old actors.
All your points are right except the fact that Balraj being a strong character is not fit for this role. I think you need to clear your concept about acting. Character is always greater than the personality of any actor. A good actor is the one who keeps aside all his ego about who he is in real life and is ready to play any character possible no matter how different it is from the actor's personality. And Balraj did that thing very well. This is what versatility means.

Just saw 46 minutes of the movie. The scene just finished was quite mrlodramatic. Doesn't suit the temperment of Balraj Sahni as an actor, or as he was portrayed until now. Moreover he is an experienced lawyer. Not hearing a response from his wife to his accusations is unbecoming, unprofessional. Mr. Sahni himself should have objected to such behaviour.
