Love Fate Gear. Nana the vocalist also is in death metal band called Gungire. Mina the guatarist and founder of FG likes to utilize different vocalist, but Nana is used mostly because of versatility. Other vocalist are Ibuki and Rami. Mina also has featured other members in certain songs like Jill the violinist from Unlucky Morpheus and Mitsuru the guitarist formally in Bridear. FG has toured the EU and UK several times and will be there again in a couple months.

Mina the lead guitarist and founder of Fate Gear was in Destrose with Haruna and Miho from Lovebites. I Love Fate Gear!! Great reaction bro. You actually gave them a higher score than I did. I was at 9 flat!!!

    Great, fun reaction.
Fate Gear is basically the continuation of Destrose under a different name. The guitarist is Mina, the co-founder, leader, principle songwriter and only member of every Destrose lineup. Destrose basically ended when Mina took several months off in 2015 to deal with an unspecified health issue and instead of continuing Destrose Miho and Narumi (the next two longest tenured members, althuogh both only about half as long as Mina) went their separate ways to found Lovebites and Disqualia respectively. When Mina recovered she decided to call her new band Fate Gear instead of continuing the Destrose brand, possibly because she had come up with the Steampunk idea - Destrose started out with your basic heavy metal biker look early on before morphing into the "Pirate" theme you saw in your Headless Goddess reaction - although these days Fate Gear sports sort of a hybrid Steampunk Pirates look after releasing a concept album a couple years ago that told a story about steampunk sky pirates. In fact, while this was an original song (and one of their newest, just a couple months old), Fate Gear has covered pretty much the entire Destrose catalog in the past and regularly play several Destrose songs in their live sets.
Mina is technically the only full member of Fate Gear although the drummer Haruka is listed as "support staff" and plays every song. The keytar player is the newest member of the band and this was her debut video with them so I'm not sure if she is also listed as support staff or guest, but her predecessor of many years (on keyboards not keytar) was. The bassist Erica was also with them as a semi-regular member like Haruka for several years before leaving about a year before this video, so it's not clear if she was only back as a Guest on this one track or was returning to her old role in the band.
The vocalist Nana is definitely considered a guest - Fate Gear only has "guest" vocalists, although Nana does sing on a lot of their studio recordings and does most if not all of their live shows, especially when they tour outside of Japan (they've been to Europe a few times but don't think they've made it to the US yet). So many fans do consider her Fate Gear's "singer" (she does also have her own band called Theo Nova though). You would love her live, she is a complete lunatic on stage running all over the place constantly interacting with the crowd and other band members.
For their live shows they do seem to generally be very limited in their production budget, so the steam punk concept is pretty much limited to their costumes, the Gear shaped cymbals on Haruka's drum kit and clockwork imagery painted on some of the instruments. Not so much in the stage design which is typically very bare bones. But as noted above, they do make up for the minimalist production with a lot of stage energy and running around (especially Nana and Erica).

The Fate Gear website has 3 full members:
      Mina as "Captain"
      Crew:
      Drums : Haruka
Keyboards : 黑咲(Kurosaki) (I know from the live stuff I have seen she does some backup harsh vocals as well, at least in 1 song)
A year ago only Mina and Haruka were mentioned as members, that was before Kurosaki joined.
Bassist Erika used to be a full member as far as I understand, but she isn't any more.
But yes, all the rest are considered guests.
Nana is in 2 bands btw, Theo Nova and Gungire (I have seen 1 streamed live performance by both). I believe she used to play in a 3rd one called Reasterisk, but that project seems dead. I just noticed that I have a ticket for a livestream show of (among others) Gungire on March 25th. They are a bit too metalcore for me and I actually bought that ticket for an other act, but I will give them an other go. I have no problem in seeing Nana perform again.
And yes, I agree about her stage presence. She is the main reason why I have watched Fate Gear 2 times now in a livestream and I will do so in the future. I am still not 100% sold on their albums (productionwise), but I really enjoyed their live shows.
      Edit:
It looks like March 26th will be Fate Gear's final show in Japan for now (they are asking to hold off for now). They are doing a tour in Europe in July from what I can see, so they are probably going to prepare for that. Nothing in my country, but maybe I should have a look on how difficult it is to get into one of the shows in the Netherlands.

Mina had been ill for 2 years, which is the reason why she did not appear live with Destrose over the last couple of years. Also Mina quit Destrose in the Jan of 2015, and the band split in March of the same year, as Ibuki was just about to take over the singing role.

@@MaartenT You are right, I just checked the liner notes on the Killers In the Sky (Part I) and Haruka and Yuri are listed as Crew not Support Staff - that was probably me misinterpreting "Crew" not linking it to Mia's label as "Captain" which I just took as her nickname - but yeah thinking about it your interpretation makes more sense. I assume the Killers in The Sky Part II liner notes read the same except Kurosaki replaces Yuri. In whatever interpretation Mina is definitely listed separately from the rest of the band in a prioritized manner.
I had thought Erika was only back as a guest for this song (she played on one track on Killers in the Sky Part I and was listed as a guest there) but interestingly the Encyclopedia Metallum web site (obviously not an official source) still lists Erika as a full member, albeit with a brief hiatus of no more than a year: Bass (2016-2021, 2022-present).
I haven't seen any live footage with Kurosaki, but Yuri did use to do backing vocals (both clean and harsh) when Nana sang lead - including on Headless Goddess which is interesting since on the original studio recording Ibuki sang the clean "lead" vocals and Nana did the "backing" vocals which mixed harsh and clean (for anyone who has only seen the Destrose version of Headless Goddess going "what harsh vocals?" the Fate Gear version changes some of the backing vocals to harsh) - so while I wouldn't be surprised if Kurosaki also does backing vocals, but that could have been footage of Yuri you saw as well.

yt apparently ate my comment anyway and I was too stupid this time to copy it first.
Hopefully you are able to see in in an email notification or something. I have no clue why it got me this time either, I purposefully kept it clean. It might have been ticket? I have no clue.
The main point was that I watched them 2 times with Kurosaki:
Once for an event that was held on: 2022-12-02: Trois Sparkles
Once for an event that was held on: 2023-03-03: 春爛漫のJAPANESE HERO-INES
I didn't just saw footage, I p a i d (let's hope this works) for streaming "tickets" for those events.

As far as Erika goes, I looked it up when the first and second Killers in the Sky EP's dropped because I put the credits on a website (not going to mention what type to be sure). I had a small back-and-forth discussion with one of the other contributors about it because some sources seemed to indicate she was still with the band while others didn't. But Mina played bass on the latest EP and Erika isn't on the official site any more, so we removed her from the bandpage on that site.
I hardly knew anything about the band before I had to fill in the credits and look some things up. It's why I am pretty confident. Erika is now in "Pinkish Crown" and seemingly just helps Fate Gear out with MV's and livesets.

A higher score than I was expecting. Awesome! Fate Gear was formed in 2015 by the guitarist Mina who had previously been in the band Destrose.

Personlly "Battle Against Justice" "Scars In my life" & Adventure in the east are my favorates. Romancer (Destrose Cover) & Deathless Memories (Destrose Cover)
Which are from their latest single Deathless Memories. When Miho and Narumi from Destrose decided to go their separate ways. Then forming Lovebites & Disqualia. When Mina recovered from an illness back in 2015.
She changed the name to Fate Gear!! I was happy to see them still going strong. Fate Gear deserves far more credit than they get on average! F** love this band!!🤘🎸🦊💕

The Band has 3 members Mina on guitar, Haruka on drums and Kurosaki on keytar.
Erika on bass in the video used to be a full member, but she left to join Pinkish Crown, then after her replacement left, Erika came back to help out the band in MV's and live shows. in the studio it's Mina that plays the bass which maybe the reason why the bass sound off, as she is a guitarist not a bassist.
The singer Nana is also a guest as she has her own band(s). Fate Gear used to have a full time singer, but she left for health reasons and now does anime voice acting. Fate Gear now pull from a pool of singers, which ever one Mina thinks will fit the song better, normally they'll use Nana.
I have seen them live twice now once with Nana and the other they had Ibuki, I am also going to see them on the small European tour this year, and I believe it's the line up that was in this MV. Personally I prefer Nana as a front woman for the band, as she balances out the nutcase on bass, Erika. There is a video off them live in a small room that was recorded just for video, up front are Erika and Nana, all the others are crammed up at the back, as they let the front 2 do what they do.
Haruka is also an anime artist, and sometimes does the cover artwork, she also has a cartoon on Japanese TV, and she does pop up in other bands/artists MV's or live shows.
Mina fell in love with Steampunk aesthetic when she visited New York, and thought I would be a good idea to base the concept of it around a band.
The band is not that big, a few reasons for that. 1st they are another independent band, so they do not get the promotion they need. 2nd they tend to be all over the place on the metal music style they play, also the band has got better over the years.
Fate Gear may not be the best band in the world, but they are great live.
Ah!! the vibarto, I guess one of those singers is Fuki, Fuki can sing clean and has done. But Unlucky Morpheus are a band that want to appeal to a Japanese audience, they are not play/releasing for an international market. Yes they are happy to have it, but they are not going to chase after it by changing and losing the Japanese fans that like them with the vibrato, which has been stated by the band, in an interview.

Nice review, one of my (many) favourite Japanese bands. Mina & co are very good, maybe not on par with some other bands, but still good.
And like other comments here stating, the cooperation and support between bands and individuals in Japan are astonishing.

All I gotta say is WOW and in my opinion this isnt even their best song or atleast my favorite song by them. Fate Gear is one of my favorites from Japan and do own every cd they've produced and I love them all. Nana is a great vocalist and I'm love with her cleans and yes it is refreshing to when you hear vocalists from japan without heavy amounts of vibrato
Fate Gear is pretty much the continuation of Destrose. Captain Mina formed Destrose and then when Destrose desolved in 2015, she formed Fate Gear and she carried alot of their songs over from Destrose
Mina got the idea of steam punk from When Destrose came the USA and Mina was introduced to the steam punk theme at a convention they were playing at here in the states. She really liked that theme and decided to use it when she formed Fate Gear. Fate Gear almost regularly tours Europe so were just waiting until they finally come to the states. Hope to see you do more of them

At other tracks Nana's screams sound differend, you're right there's done some post-production work. Nice you like the guitar player, she was also in Destrose where you complained that she was playing dead notes. The guitar player is the founder of the band and was also the founder of Destrose.

I am not a huge fan of the album production on their albums, but I bought tickets to livestreamed shows to give them a final chance and the vocals and production sounded way better on those (imo). Watching them live changed them from a band that I was probably going to ignore after buying some of their albums to a band that I am probably going to buy more livestream tickets for when I they are streaming a liveset.
I have also heard livestreamed sets of 2 of the vocalist Nana's bands "Theo Nova" and "Gungire". She is actually a pretty good harsh vocalist live (Gungire especially is pretty heavy with a lot of harsh vocals), but her cleans are also very good, she has actually impressed me a lot live. These vocals have a lot of postproduction on it, which is my major gripe with how their albums sound, I just generally don't like the sound of heavily produced vocals. Nana tends to tour with them as a vocalist from what I have seen. I think she is a great fit for that because of her stage presence and her skills in clean and harsh vocals.
Fate Gear uses guest vocalists and guest members in general, only the guitarist (Captain Mina), drummer (Haruka) and keyboard player (Kurosaki) are "official" members. Guitarist Mina basically writes all the music, lyrics, does the production, mix and she even played bass on the latest EP's. Which might be why the bass isn't as good as a pure bassist would do. She also wrote all the songs for Destrose as far as I'm aware.
Their last couple of albums and EP's had diffferent vocalists on different tracks, including some with Nana which you saw here. The bassist you see in this video (Erika) has officially left the band about a year ago but is still helping them out on musicvideos and during livesets. She now plays for the band "Pinkish Crown" although they just lost 2 members recently and are in need of a guitarist and maybe a second vocalist (they had 2).
