겨울 노지상추 봄에 빨리 수확하기 위해 관리 이렇게 해 본다.

상추는 봄부터 가을까지 심고 수확을 반복하는 작물이다.
하지만 이런 상추도 가을에 심으면 겨울을 지나 봄에 수확할 수 있다.
이와 같이 하려면 지역에 따라 차이가 있지만 10월 중순경에 씨앗을 심으면 싹이 돋아나서 자란 다음 기온이 영하로 내려가면 상추 위쪽 잎들은 시들어 없어 죽지만 땅속에 있는 뿌리는 계속 자란다.
이렇게 된 상추는 기온이 올라가는 봄이 되면 다시 싹이 돋아나서 봄에 씨앗을 심는 것보다 빨리 상추를 수확할 수 있다.
물론 겨울을 나기 위한 여러가지 방법이 있지만 순수한 노지 상추를 맛을 있지 못하는 동해아찌는 이런 재배 방법으로 매년 심고 관리하여 왔다.
올해는 방법을 달리하여 일부는 부직포를 이용하여 보온을 해 주어 상추 성장 상태와 수확 시기에 변화가 있는 지에 대해 알아 보려고 한다.
