I think the most fitting name is 'Meat Grinder' (to quote Richard Holmes) , but I appreciate the designer's more eloquent choice. Fantastic and underrated game.
Hey Marco, thank you for aother great video. This looks absolutley great. I am now debating to get either this or "the lamps are going out". Which one would you say is better (of course this is subjective) ? Both are high level strategic games and I was hoping to get your thoughts. Thanks again!
I just can’t get over the fact that the country banner visuals are stock images you can find google. I literally saw those in some corporate presentations where they were used as a way to lighten up the slides. It is so out of place and I can’t see unser it.
So, the map is a railroad (no link between FR and IT, really?), allegiances are scripted events, production is random, combat has a futile 1/6 chance to do anything, artwork is bland, and 17 points looks like it is meant to be played to 1918, unless luck decides otherwise... not sold on this at all. There are engaging ways to portray a strategic stalemate without making the game an unescapable slog.

I was thinking the combat system simulates the carnage and futility of WW-1 warfare. In that view the name is fitting.

How about a review for Great Crisis of Frederick the Great
Great review, what do you think of the solo mode?
That's a really interesting combat system.

Love the IU tee shirt, go Hoosiers!
Great video! I just got this game and definitely think it is better than "the lamps are going out."
I'm really enjoying this game.
