I definitely love loafers. If you're someone who always wears sneakers unless you have to dress up, yeah it can take a bit of courage to first try them, but once you get used to them, you're gonna get a lot of complements. And in my opinion, just by changing your go-to-shoes from sneakers to loafers, what you're really doing is you're upping your game. It really works well in most climate conditions unless it's really cold out and snowing.
+Charles Garton Yeah - my advice would be to reserve suede loafers for the spring and summer months. They should be protected from moisture at all times.
It doesn't rain much here in Southern California. Most of my wardrobe is summer pieces. Although, my favorite suit is a heavy flannel. I get to wear it about once a month in the winter.
Great video. I love my loafers, whether they be penny, horsebit, or tassel. There's just something so appealing about effortlessly slipping them on and off. As for my favorite, I'd have to say that it's the tassel loafer. For me, it signals the wearer as someone who is/tries to be stylishly unique. And let's not forget the moccasin, the perfect blend of casual and stylish. The loafer is far more accepted in a business/work environment in tropical countries due to the hot climate.
Penny Loafers are my favourite, very comfortable, i never really thought of them as being more casual than lace up Derby for ex, but they are definitely more versatile, you can wear with socks or with out socks, dress pants or jeans etc ..
Penny loafers are my business casual go to for work shoes in the US. It hard to beat the comfort, ease of putting them on and functionality of them. They look good, but not overly formal. I have pairs in brown and black, so gives me a great collection of colours to work with shirts, trousers and occasionally a sports jacket. A decent pair of loafers tend to last me and I just have them resoled as needed. If I am in a more traditional place like the UK, I tend to go with something a little more formal like a Derby, due to them being more accepted. I don't particularly care for the tassels on some loafers, but that just a personal choice. I have friends who love them.
+pitiedvod Very strategic. I know what you mean. What's your opinion on my 5 dress shoes for every man: www.realmenrealstyle.com/shoes-every-man-must-own/
+Real Men Real Style do you wear a matching belt with those gray loafers? If not, what kind of belt can you pull it off? I'm getting a bit annoyed to have so many different belts ahaha
Thank you so much Antonio for making this video! I have been wearing loafers with a suit for two years now and nobody has commented on it, however I will definitely start wearing real dress shoes now!
+Brocton Nunns As long as you like it, go for it! The great thing about style is that you can always make exceptions. Like Antonio said though, just know what you're doing. lol
very nice !!! I never thought to get loafers cause it feels like slipping out of the heel when you walk, but I should consider now trying again, the elegant style shown in the last two photos is very nice thanks
Thank you for this, I'm a young guy starting to improve my style and this informative videos help a lot. You explained it well and very eloquently. Thanks.
I like how I can select a certain time in the video to watch a particular subject. I reference your videos and this helps me get to a certain part quicker. Thanks and great background!
After a lifetime of sneakers and running shoes I started my new shoe collection recently with suede penny loafers, I’m addicted now will end up with a Raphael Schneider shoe collection 😅
I like the horsebit with silver metal. I like the look of silver vs gold, as well as gunmetal (the color of the my frames when I was wearing glasses). The metal seems like something else you can play with when putting together an outfit.
Those grey suede loafers are the bomb. I need to purchase every style of loafer. Great video. Do you have a video of loafer manufacturers under $300? Seven to Ten manufacturers
Hey Antonio! I would have really loved to see some visual examples to go with this video. I've been looking for a pair of casual loafers and would like to see some more options outside of the 1 or 2 outfits I have in mind. I really like the penny loafer but I'm not quite sure I would be able to pull it off.. Keep it up with the awesome material!
+David Rodes Jeans in a medium to dark wash and a button-down shirt . Undo a button or two and roll up the sleeves. Penny loafers would work best with this attire. www.realmenrealstyle.com/dress-loafers-guide/
Another great explanation and walkthrough. I have a question. youre very well spoken and im wondering if youve taken speech lessons or something akin to that? Thanks antonio!
Yes! 100% would recommend, I recently was an organizer for an event and had to move around the venue constantly to talk to guests and check on stuff and the shoes held up pretty well.
I probably own more shoes than any man I know. However, I have yet to purchase a pair of loafers. I think that will be my next shoe purchase. I will definitely look at Paul Evans. Another great vid Antonio. Thank you.
Hey Antonio i think you should do a video about lighters and about carrying them even for the non smokers because you never know if the "special" lady needs a light. Keep up the good work.
+Mr. Treez In which context do you mean ? If you are around women and some of them smoke it would be polite if you light their cigarette. You can't control your heart if you find the lady attractive and you have a chemistry going on you wouldn't even notice that she smokes . Maybe I didn't understand you fully, if so forgive me.
I have a pair of Belgian tassle loafers; though I prefer penny loafers. I am a fan of the dark brown or black leather; not so much the suede, but they work very well for casual/ creative wear.
Haven't had a pair in more than 20 years, and then only for work, but contemplating loafters. I find the horsebits intruiging, but sense they're best with tailored slacks or perhaps slim, non-tie suit (not a problem, but not my daily chinos / jeans uniform).
Hi Antonio, I want to ask how do you match colorful loafers with belts? For example for your grey suede loafer, does the belt have to be in grey and make of suede too? Btw love your videos, keep it up man :)
+Real Men Real Style hmm let me think for a second, suggestion: some tips about how and when to wear a turtleneck sweater. And what types and colors are the most versatile. And maybe covering something about the history of the turtleneck. That should be a cool video :D
Never saw the Belgian loafers before, despite living in Holland. I like their more understated look compared to tassel loafers. Might plan a little trip to Antwerp to see if Belgians actually sell these. Thanks for the informative video Antonio!
Very informative and entertaining video as always! Thank you. I would wear leather loafers with odd trousers and casual sportcoat with patch pockets. Only in the summer/warm climate. Without socks of course. I would not wear a suit and loafers. There's a conflict with suit signaling formal attire and loafer doing the opposite.
Loafers are definitely the most versatile dress shoes you can dress em up with suits dress em down with chinos jeans and even shorts. What other dress shoe can do that? Probably not oxfords derbys monkstraps or even boots
Sven classifies the tassel loafer as more formal than any other loafer given that the color and materials are the same. You say the tassel is less formal. Who is right? Is it a matter of opinion?
First time purchasing a loafer, purchased the Gucci Horsebit leather loafer... and finding them a little slippery since there's almost no sole on the bottom. Some friends told me to get some sole on it... what do you think? Thanks Antonio!
Thanks for this info. I like the Gucci horse-bit loafers and i like to have them with formal wear. I think you said the horsebits are ideal for formal suits, etc. Please confirm, cos i want to be "accurately dressed," lol.
Hi Antonio Great Video I have a pair of Loafers and I have the 1st set you showed and use them when I have the spring summer and fall month's due to weather in the North west but Love the video that you did thank you
Love all your videos. I'm a pretty thin guy. Not skin 'n' bones but not close to a beef cake. Do you have any wardrobe suggestions? Would you consider making a video for the skinnier guy? Regards from South Africa :)
Hello Antonio, I plan to get a white dress shirt, navy blazer, small yellow bow tie with fine navy stripes and brown Loafer but don't know what pants to rock with it as I haven't bought them yet.....your advice.....
the one I liked the most was the brown leather mcqueen driving shoe you used. I want some driving shoes, but I've yet to find any that are double E as I have a wide foot.
You left an important point, that I was waiting for you to mention.. Socks! Do you/ do you not wear socks with them, how necessary or when it's necessary & what color????
Antonio, once again great video sir! I had been planning on getting a modest pair of loafers for everyday casual use with my khaki trousers. For me this video brings in alot of new information to consider. My choice would definitely be the penny loafers in suede. Still indecisive about the colour though.
You can wear pumps for black tie, that's formal wear. Not thinking of the shiny color and bow tie, they kind of look like each other. Are the pump a distent cousin of the loafer?
If the colour scheme of the socks match the rest of your outfit I say go for it! I often wear my dark brown penny loafers (+ matching belt colour) with charcoal pants and black socks and finished off with a white shirt. Can’t go wrong!
Could someone recommend me a Loafer Brand for special slim feet? Usually I need size 44/45 but the problem is, that most shoes in these size are too wide for me and my feet slip out during walking. Thanks in Advance.
+Matthias Y. Reich This is a matter of personal preference. Socks with loafers can add visual appeal, but they are not necessary. www.realmenrealstyle.com/dress-loafers-guide/
Antonio: What type of loafer is safe to wear with jeans and Sports Jacket? Suede or Leather? I just do not want to look too formal. I see a dark brown mocassin (without laces) would work out but I am not sure. Thanks

+Stephen Pelletier These versatile and comfortable shoes combine the convenience of slip-on shoes with the formality of business clothes.
+Stephen Pelletier you can get a pair of ECCO for way less on eBay.
I'm going to wear my loafers with anything whether suit, jeans, trousers chinos, etc

I just ordered a pair of beige suede loafers from florsheim amd I can't wait to get them.
I absolutely love my Bostonian Kiltie loafer in Burgundy with tassel. Have had them for over 10 years...
My favorite are the penny loafers, by far. I love them!!!

+Yakov Barashnykov Nice!
Great vlog, excellent explanation and background details. Thanks for this!
My choice: Gucci loafers all the way…
Just bought my first pair of loafers, horsebit style. Cognac coloured, have a light suit to go with it. Third pair of suit shoes.
After a lifetime of sneakers and running shoes I started my new shoe collection recently with suede penny loafers, I’m addicted now will end up with a Raphael Schneider shoe collection 😅

+Paul Brosnan Cool! I do too.

Antonio, your videos are great. I remember years ago they were kinda bland. Now they look great.
I appreciate the honest comment. Thank you!
Is there a difference in formality when it comes to wearing loafers with a wooden sole vs a rubber sole? Or is it only a quality difference?
I LOVE the Gucci Loafers. I'll buy them one day.
Have you bought the yet ?
Another great explanation and walkthrough. I have a question. youre very well spoken and im wondering if youve taken speech lessons or something akin to that? Thanks antonio!
That damm grey suede is a beast!
I'm a huge fan of the Gucci loafers, goes well with my charcoal grey suit
I actually saw those. I was considering them are they good quality? Got? Would recommend?
Yes! 100% would recommend, I recently was an organizer for an event and had to move around the venue constantly to talk to guests and check on stuff and the shoes held up pretty well.
Lol, and I am a huge fan of solid gold pants....equally affordable

wonderful tips
Hello Antonio, I plan to get a white dress shirt, navy blazer, small yellow bow tie with fine navy stripes and brown Loafer but don't know what pants to rock with it as I haven't bought them yet.....your advice.....
the one I liked the most was the brown leather mcqueen driving shoe you used. I want some driving shoes, but I've yet to find any that are double E as I have a wide foot.
+samuel cabrera I like that too! I wear it when I travel.
You left an important point, that I was waiting for you to mention.. Socks! Do you/ do you not wear socks with them, how necessary or when it's necessary & what color????
low cut socks
are good with them
its invisible socks
low cut socks are about as fashionable as v necks for men
they look awful, use regular socks
+Abdulelah Algharbawi You can wear them with or without socks.
www.realmenrealstyle.com/dress-loafers-guide/
Thanks a lot champ! For all the info. We enjoy your videos. Cheers
No socks, if you are going to wear one it has to be no show kind
How tight or loose should my loafers be? I got a blister from my LV loafers.
Thanks Antonio
+David Zuniga You're welcome! What else do you want to see from my channel?
No Kiltie style loafer?
Antonio, once again great video sir!
I had been planning on getting a modest pair of loafers for everyday casual use with my khaki trousers. For me this video brings in alot of new information to consider. My choice would definitely be the penny loafers in suede. Still indecisive about the colour though.
+Abdullah Mirza I would say wear suede loafers for spring and summer to protect it from moisture :)
Good selection.
Is it suitable to wear loafers with jeans?
I’m a size 9 but mine kind of come off a bit when I walk. Is that normal?
Which belt would i wear with those grey loafers?
Thanks a lotta for your advice
Great information ...thanks for sharing
+Jim D You're welcome Jim!
Thank you very. Much great presence and presentation grey suede for me thanks to you and your style sense informative
Great presence and presentation.
I own a pair of grey suede loafers but I am having trouble matching them into my outfit. Did any one have any tips? Thanks in advance.
Antonio- where did you get the rack?
great video Antonio..!!
+Archit Aggarwal Thank you sir!
You can wear pumps for black tie, that's formal wear. Not thinking of the shiny color and bow tie, they kind of look like each other. Are the pump a distent cousin of the loafer?
+Bjørn Stian Hansen Engebak Yes, you can. That's for another video.
Hey Antonio great video as always :)
Now with the Winter coming, what would you think of making a guide about gloves ?
+Muddaawsome I'll update you guys.
Excellent video Antonio! Do you mind providing a link to where one can purchase the wardrobe rack?
+Edwen Delcid Thanks! I'll definitely talk about it in my next video. Stay tuned.
what are the rules for socks when wearing loafers?
can a tassel loafer can be wear on a wedding suit?
Antonio, is it right to wear a loafer shoe with socks?
I always feel inconvenient wearing a winter outfit with loafer without socks
If the colour scheme of the socks match the rest of your outfit I say go for it! I often wear my dark brown penny loafers (+ matching belt colour) with charcoal pants and black socks and finished off with a white shirt. Can’t go wrong!
I love how he doesn't show the price of the shoes to turn anyone off because Paul Evans shoes are pretty pricey, but well worth the money.
+Miles Klotz Yes it is.
Could someone recommend me a Loafer Brand for special slim feet? Usually I need size 44/45 but the problem is, that most shoes in these size are too wide for me and my feet slip out during walking. Thanks in Advance.
Hey Antonio do the Paul Evans shoes have a Goodyear welt?
So what about socks? Visible ones? Also what kind of pants would you recommend?
+Matthias Y. Reich This is a matter of personal preference. Socks with loafers can add visual appeal, but they are not necessary. www.realmenrealstyle.com/dress-loafers-guide/
Which is the type of shoe can be worn with both formal trousers as well as jeans ???
Derby shoes, blucher shoe, double monk strap. Brogues..you would want them in leather
Penny loafers on my wedding, yay or nay?
Antonio: What type of loafer is safe to wear with jeans and Sports Jacket? Suede or Leather? I just do not want to look too formal. I see a dark brown mocassin (without laces) would work out but I am not sure. Thanks
As he said in the video loafers are casual so you can pair a loafer with jeans .
I think the suede version is more
Love the shoes...need to save in order to have them 😭
Damn those blue ones looks great imo 2:53!
+HonorFreeMusic Agreed!
