Used to be a black trail. A bobcat or other small tractor plowed down it the other year and it now looks to be a blue, you can edit the difficulty on trail forks if you want. The difficulties are subjective to the trails that are immediately surrounding them. The trails at Rocky Peak are only "single black" but would be double black most other places but if compared to the unlisted trails there they are easier.
The only thing I could guess is the exposure in certain areas. I’ve ridden this trail several times and the only fear factor is the cliff’s edge in your peripheral. lol. Great trail though and he’s not exaggerating “the beast!” omg!
Hey Brian! Always anxiously awaiting your next video! 😁 😎For sure gonna hit up this trail. Not far from the A.V.. The weather down there was cool over the weekend. Nice and cool all the way to Camarillo! Fri. I finally rode in Thousand Oaks over the weekend at Conejo Canyon, and Sapwi Trails, and the fire damage is still so prolific. But nature is trying to overcome the damage. Seeing it up close is eye opening.
Do you still have the largest volume spacer installed in your rear shock? The chart on Fox's site says the max is the .6 but I wanted to see how it's been treating you if you kept the larger one in. Thanks!
Yeah I have the largest one in still (1.02) the dark blue one. Feels the best for me from there it is just fine tuning the air pressure good starting point is what fox recommends. I run it a little lower than what fox recommends for my weight.
Brian, question... when you ended this ride, did you go farther and come out at Placerita Canyon? How far is it back to the Park and ride where you parked your truck? It's a road ride all the way correct? Thanks
Yes when i did the loop a large section is a road ride. there is the placertia canyon trail that goes to the animal center after you finish los pinetos.
This is off the 14 frwy in Santa Clarita you can take the Lyons ave exit and park at whitney canyon park and take the beast fire road up to the trail (the way i went) or you can take placerita exit and park near the nature center. just depends which way you want to ride up.
That was intense, Yeah!
Nice ride! You should try Viper if you go up there again!
Next time Definitely!
Hey, Brian! Don’t bother with Viper. I just rode it and it’s not as flowy as it used to be. It needs some TLC.
@@aparadoxinplaidsox Thanks for the heads up!
Camp 9 is a good 5 miles from Wilson Saddle (where you started). I have run from Newhall to Camp 9 a few times. Nice views.
Nice, how do I get there from the AV...what can I search on google maps?
14frwy south to newhall exit there is a ride share parking lot there and take the fire road up to pinetos trail

Seems nice and flowy to me, what makes this ride a black? I want to check this trail out!

I think it might be if you ride up would be the only thing. On trail forks it is rated black though. Fun trail. Definitively worth a shot. 🤘

Right on! The thousand oaks area has some nice trails for sure and have to take advantage of those cool days. 😀
