Heard the story of Ace being so shy to do lead vocals on Shock Me that he recorded it laying down in the dark while in the studio. That was crazy to me because Ace is the complete package and epitome of a Rock Star. Great vocals, great guitar skills, great fashion style and he lived the Rock & Roll attitude and lifestyle
Buck Cherry stoled Ace’s riff to Shock Me. The song is
“ lit up”.
@@teamginate3400 Every guitar player steals riffs and solo idea's from others. Ace has been stealing riffs and solo idea's for his entire career.
The solo to "She" was stolen from "The Doors" The staccato picking on "Firehouse" solo was stolen from "Jimmy Page" from the song "Livin" Lovin' Maid" The solo to "Love Gun" was lifted from "The Blues Magoos" and his new song "10,000 Volts" has the same riff as Sound Garden's song

But Jimmy Page stole 26 entire songs. And is my over all favorite guitar player of all time. Ace has chosen well what to take and make work for his career. Is every song he does "Golden?" Hell no' but when he plays it's very special and that's why Ace Frehley is one of the top 100 greatest Rock N Roll guitar players of all time."

I was a 6 yr old cancer patient at NIH when my favorite nurse received Alive II from a record club. She asked me if I wanted it.
I didn't know who you were. But I love the LOOK of the album, especially you. You looked the coolest. 😎 I got home, listened, and Detroit Rock City played an instant ARMY member.
My 12yr brother ran ìn my room and was in Aww as well. See, we grew up in the backbone of the Appalachian Mountains. We had 2 "ROCK STATIONS" in the belt bucket of the Biblè belt.
Shock me came on, and I was completely mesmerized. My brother told me who the singer was. The Spaceman had a name.
Then 🤯 ROCKET RIDE. ❤❤❤❤
You were our bond even after he passed, I received his collection, mostly of you.
The long way around the horn. We weren't 💋Army. No sir, we were (I still am, I hope that he is in Valhalla, per his wishes)

You never saw Tommy Thayer play like this. Ace is the only true rock star in Kiss.
He never wore pants and boots like that on stage either. hahaha But as for Ace being the only true "Rock Star" in kiss. Nope" "Kiss" was 4 wheel drive. "Gene Simmons" is a true "Rock Star" he's wrote some amazing songs and is a damn good Bass player. "Paul Stanley" has also wrote a lot of amazing songs and had a great vocal range until age caught up with him. "Peter Criss" was an amazing drummer and a perfect fit for those early "Kiss" years, and in my opinion had the best vocals of the four of them. He also has their highest charting hit.
"None" of the "Kiss" members have ever told the truth as to how they were created in the studio. But all of them had known each other before "Kiss" was formed. But it's the nostalgia and mystery of the band that made so many people interested.
Kiss sold more money in posters and all sorts of merch back in the 70's. They made over a million dollars a year on just poster sales alone.
They may not have been the first to wear makeup, use fire on stage, or sway around on stage together but they did it on a much bigger scale and were truly the best or most entertaining band in history,
Are they my favorite band? No' but they're definitely in my top 10. As far as live acts go though they are my #1. Because they was truly a magical thing happening when all four original members were together and on top of their game. Ace & Jimmy Page both have a lot of similarities. Both are a bit sloppy live and both create amazing solo's that fit the songs perfectly. But even Ace would admit that Jimmy Page is better than he is and it's not just modesty speaking either. But we all still love Hendrix don't we? And by the way, I don't blame "Tommy Thayer" for wearing Ace's makeup. I sure as hell didn't like it but Tommy made some good money for doing it. And I'm sure a lot of people would love to work for 20 years and retire a multimillionaire. I know I sure would. But we can all admit his original solo's aren't very good, and he's to cookie cutter to match Ace.
Rock on my fellow Ace fan. I've seen Ace live years ago, and if you haven't you need to buy a ticket because he's not getting any younger. Peace.. Joe
Back in the mid-90’s “The Off-Ramp” in Seattle would have band *theme-nights*, and bands would show-up & do a short-set of whatever band the venue picked to celebrate.
I went to Kiss-night in the summer of ‘94 and the best thing ever was the all-girl band that played “Rocket Ride”

Iconic riff and this song should’ve been on Ace’s Kiss solo album after all he played everything but drums on it and sang it but I’m sure the powers that be wouldn’t allow that to happen, had it been on the album who knows instead of platinum it may have gone double platinum

Ten years later, in 1987 Frehley's Comet was released and Ace didn't disappoint, the long-awaited
album was better than Crazy Nights by a longshot and sold well, too.
In particular, the track 'Fractured, Too' is amazing work by Ace, the band, and Eddie Kramer.
I was lucky enough to be in the audience while kiss alive 2 was recorded ! LA forum Los Angeles.
