I was apart of that 18K who bought The Minstrel Show in the first week. In '05, it was all about 50 and Kanye. But I was still rockin' wit the underground.
@@blazayblazay8888CAP little brother are better than 90% of your favorites
@@blazayblazay8888You wildin
@@blazayblazay8888 They made great songs. Phonte was always the technician. Pooh was the stylist. Most duos are like that.
Real talk .. I love the underground.
Been a fan since a teen. They got a song called “all for you” on the minstrel show album. I lived big Pooh’s verse at the time I heard it and grow up to literally live out phontes verse in this song. It’s crazy how some music impact your life, In a prophetic way. I still think about that verse from time to time when I’m with my kids. It’s one of the best association to music I have.
My fave LB track
The hook and the best for all for you is just so dope and the concept of the song is crazy. can somebody answer the phone? I pay the bills. Lol
I definitely related to Phonte's verse from All For You.
I seen them live for like 10$ in like 06’. Shit was 🔥 they rocked for like 2h straight
"Never see him in the spots that we be at..."
"So Pops how can I blame you cause' you couldn't maintain..."
Blood runs cold everytime I listen to that song...only a real man knows the depths of their verses on that song.
Yo Math thanks for getting these dudes on. Underrated group
How many people skip the intro?
🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️
Sometimes.
EVERYONE
It's borderline entrapment
@@DeathsInverse No, it's called promotion
😂🤣😂
You talking to Drake's father 😂🤣😭😂🤣😭😂
Phonte Was Featured On Drake's "Think Good Thoughts" Alongside eLZhi Back When Drake Was Actually Rapping! Before Young Money/Cash Money Dope Beat By 9th Wonder Too... And Rapper Big Pooh Featured Kendrick Lamar Along With Ab Soul And Jay Rock On His Track "Nothing Less" Before Kendrick Blew All The Way The Fuck Up! These Dudes Put Serious Work In And It's Time For Folks To Get Familiar.....
LB and Drake also did a track called “Don’t You Have A Man”
Great song
With that Aretha Franklin sample? That's my shit.
Math that intro song ain’t it my brother. If you gonna force us to listen to your music please let it be something good. Lol.
Woof arf woof
That isn't an option with his music. 🤣💯
For real... he's being petty, though....rubbing it in his ex's face, lol 😂😂
YEAH I’M SINGLEEEE 🗣️ 😂
I was thinking the same thing. Math, we looking for something of “dear mama” pac caliber. We know you got it in you. Remember, you ain’t no regular nikka.
I said for years that Phonte is Drakes sensei. But he doesn't go on a "I taught Drake everything he knows" campaign. A true class act.
He watered it down tho.
Real ones know who Drake patterned his rap style after when he hit the scene💯
I got to find the vid but Drake has been quoted stating that Phonte inspired his style
Exactly
Joe budden
He actually says on a song, "Phonte you know you my favorite rapper right?" He admits to patterning his style after Phonte in 9th Wonder's Wonder Years doc (just watched it) on youtube.
@@SoapMacLavish definitely was influenced by Joe too he rapping just like him on "Do What You Do" off Comeback Season
Drake has credited Phonte for his earlier style but arguably it shouldve been more. A recent feature (similar to Wayne hopping on a track) probably would've sufficed
I doubt Drake has even thought of or spoken to Phonte in years...A collab between them will never happen at this point
@@rodneyscott5450they have 1 feature already on a song called "think good thoughts" its such a fire song
@@rodneyscott5450I don’t know about that. LB does Glory Glory with Conductor Williams….and then Drake does some joints with Conductor. I’m betting he’s still a fan.
My favorite duo of all time. This is my opinion, their lyrics literally mimicked real shit I experienced as a young man and even more at 30. S/o Phonte & Rapper Big Pooh
They spit for the 9-5 average working person. Can’t get no realer 💯 second fav group ever next to slim V
Slum Village *
Drake definitely studied Phonte and ran with it. Been saying this for about 10 years now

And people wonder why battle rappers don't make it in the music industry. That intro is a no no.
@@seanyoung9014 only 2 legit battle rappers I know that made it huge in music industry. Eminem and Meek Mill. And yes people wonder that. They can rhyme but can they make a good song? 🤌🤌😄
KRS is a battle rapper. He's one of the best to do it. But it's far and few between for sure.
I love that y’all got little brother on here . Finally someone letting these brothers tell they’re story . We need more ppl to give these brothers there flowers

Drake said phonte influenced him and kanye even said phonte influenced him.
Going to check out the doc now 💯
About to watch the doc, I gotta see how the label did good by them since we always hear the negative 💯
Tired of skippin’ pass these Hoffa song intros to get to these interview snippets 😂😂😂

After meeting Mr Brian Taylor in the United States, my life changed completely.
Yours can change too, it's just a matter of commitment and focus.

Great interview!
Good to see little brother comfortable I'm thier own skin. Who wants super stardom with all of its craziness. They look happy with what they accomplished.
I hope "SINGLE" is not a single.
Doc was fire!!!!!
Hey Mecca what was the energy like with these AMAZING BROTHERS. IMMA HUGEEEEE LB FAN 💯💯💯💯💯.
Phonte is head and shoulders above Drake. Not record sales wise but talent.
Raps grown man raps.
They’re laughing at Julie being able to buy a network not recognizing she’s buying it with their hard work. 🤦🏾♂️
I'm quite sure that irony wasn't lost on him. Phonte's a pretty smart cat
@@zshakur I disagree. He complimented her a bunch. It’s ok to say he was lost in that sequence
@@podkash Listen to what he says right after that, about having your own thing. I'm sure he realized after his discussion with her that his blood, sweat, and tears helped build her "empire". Listening to countless interviews with him, that irony is too glaring for him to miss. Why do you assume he didn't get it?

S/o Lil brother. Dope music and people.
Drake drafted phonte style and ran with it fo sho!

Real talk w Julie Greenwald flexing in a nonchalant manner. I bet it did hit different when she was talking about buying a network.
On a Tuesday…😂😂😂😂
I’m single in the club trynna mingle?? Really?? 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
Phonte heavily influenced Drakes sound. Drake sound now influencing Math. Except Math is terrible at it 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gratitude.
Drake gives Phonte credit.
HOFFA KEEP GRINDING BOTHA.
Yo I’m singleeeeeee, in the club tryna mingleeeee *sings alongs with Math*. This dang song is growing on me 😆
Yo Math- first two singles you posted were fire. This new one with the dogs barking aint it bro. If ya peoples told you different, theyre lying.
LB Bidnezz !!! When I first heard Chittlin Circuit 1.5 I knew they would blow! The music industry never seems to get it right on how to promote groups like LB so that they would blow up sooner!
The intro aint it Math! 🤝🏾it’s gotta change!
S/O to LB crew Carolina represent!!!!! Have to give credit to Mos Def and 3 stack along with Phonte on the being able to spit and harmonize where Drake control C on.
Yea Mos Def always did a great job with that. It wasn't traditional r&b type of singing but it sounds really dope and adds to his raw style.
Math songs sounds like he’s sleepy or just waking up..
That intro sound like postnasal drip
My fav is we got now!
DRIZZY better pay PHONTE them royalties. 😂
S-Tier podcast clip.
Dam that’s a big tummy
these songs on the intro be some of the worst shit ever😂
Love this support for some NC MC Groundbreakers, Trendsetters LEGENDS. Salute
I think the reason why i dont like Drake is because i like phonte to much. Drake just doesnt have lyrical content for me
We need a 30-second skip button
The fact that Phonte did want bigger success is crazy to me but I understand it because i didnt want that either as an artist. Just wanted to feed my family.
You dope let me hear something
You should put that other intro song back on your videos cause that single song ain’t it especially when you say "siiiiiiingle" Lol 🤦🏽♂️
Drake definitely credits them for influencing him but I don’t think they had an influence on Kendrick. Kendrick sound favors OutKast, Pac and Eminem
Kendrick is in their documentary
Zulu swashbuckler.
And honestly I think they was trying to tell you something early on with that

I am glad Ozempic is out

Wasn’t ja rule da blueprint before them? I feel like if ja rule ain’t start it but he definitely made it popular like tpain did the auto tune.
There's been other rappers to sing since the way back. We could play thst game all day. I think it's deeper than just the fact that he sings and raps. See Smoov B for an early 90s rap/sing reference.
Plus Ja Rules singing joints were terrible. He just had fans that didn't know any better at the time.
@@NW7386 u doing crazy gang, ja rule had way more then these weak ass 🥷. Jar rule had how many #1 and how many top 10 hits? If anything dat came from ja rule like I said but if not ja den who
@krispydev4843 Little Brother is and was very well known. So what he had #1 singles. When will some of yall get the fact that that shit doesn't matter.
It's tragic that we have the internet and all types of outlets for yall to do the knowledge on hip hop. Not just the top 40 hits from said year, but hip hop music and culture. It's like some of yall choose to remain ignorant to an entire culture and genre that has been around for decades now.

Math- get them yes men outta the studio bro. This aint your wave. I like the attempt, but you missed on this one.
K-OS, a CDN rapper, was singing/rapping years before. That was Drake's influence, not LB.
