I can see a story featuring the origin of this song: Shadow with G.U.N. protects a rocker full of himself and full of the lifestyle of his band witnesses a deal go down with the Black Arms. He’s convinced Shadow is just an emo Sonic until he both witnesses first hand what he’s had to go through with B.A. and learns all about his origin story. After a grueling fight and Shadow leaving before an actual “thank you,” is given, the rocker recognizes the royalty that Shadow really is and writes the song. Shadow is present for the debut but leaves partway through thinking it’s another gimmick, but freezes briefly at the mention of, “found the meaning you searched for so long,” before he reluctantly admits that maybe the song isn’t THAT terrible…
