John Dillinger Died Here at the Biograph Theatre. This video is about the final moments and FBI ambush of John Dillinger at the infamous Biograph Theatre in Chicago. Dillinger was inside the theatre watching Manhattan Melodrama starring Clark Gable, when his reign as Public Enemy #1 was about to come to an end. FBI agents ambushed him in the alley next to the theatre and I will show you exactly where John Dillinger's last moments were lived out. The death of John Dillinger marked a huge win for the FBI, but the public was fascinated by him. The Biograph Theatre is a Chicago landmark and the history of it will last.

The movie Dillinger watched was Manhattan Melodrama... A Clark Gable film where he plays a wanted man facing execution. It was the last film that a legendary gangster ever watched.

Every Sunday night my mother went to the movies at Biograph theater. For some reason on July 22, 1934 she went to the matinee. She missed the Dillinger killing by a few hours. But maybe that was a good thing since some bystanders were shot.

Hi thanks so much for these great videos. Just for information purposes, Dillinger did not run down the alley and turn back. He was fatally shot just as he was entering the alley and several of those theater patrons walking nearby were wounded.

Wow, now that was interesting. On the mural it was in scripted his life long dream was to be a bank robber. That is erie! He must have known his life would be cut short to have that kind of ambition. Thanks for a great video. Stay safe out there.
