Since I had watched many of his videos in preparation for my trip to London, I felt like I was meeting an old friend. Thanks for all you do and for who you are. Anne H, Portland OR
Hi Joolz, Freddie proposed but never married Mary but he said despite all of his other relationships he regarded her like a wife. She had a home next door to his. Mary is the only person he entrusted his ashes to its final resting spot. He lived at his home with his partner Jim Hutton.
100% true Mary was the only friend he truly trusted, Freddie Mercury once said " The only friend I've got is Mary and don't want anyone else. To me, she was my common law wife" he was asked why Mary could not be replaced as a trusted friend his answer was "simply impossible". Freddie was godfather to Mary's children.
sam Thorne Freddie often said those sorts of things to protect himself from homophobia. Mary was his beard, but Jim Hutton was his husband. Freddie had loads and loads of wonderful friends like Joe Finelli, Elton John, Phoebe Freestone, Peter Straker, and of course the rest of the band. He lived with his husband Jim Hutton and said “I’m very happy with my relationship at the moment and I couldn’t ask for better. I’ve finally found a niche that I was looking for all my life and no fucker in this universe is gonna upset it.”

The steeple is the tower on top of the church - often square or cylindrical. It may also be used to mean that part together with a superstructure that tapers into a point (often roughly conical). This superstructure is known as the spire.

O! We were interrogated, unceremoniously ejected and invited not to return. It was then we decided to never purchase a home on that road.
We'd rather not say outright. It's a country situated east of the meridian line that cuts through Greenwich (see Julian's wonderful video of Greenwich!) and the embassy building itself is located no more than half way up the hill from the High Street entrance.

I love watching your videos, they were a lifeline during lockdown when I couldn't go anywhere.
You are delightful to listen to...
Brit wit is a TONIC !!!
Pse do a lot more of these.... You have a natural talent...
Kensington beautiful place I hope to visit that area especially that jewellery shop were lady Diana visited. Thanks alot your amazing
She looked as if all she does is sit there in that tiny shop all day lol
While her husband uses it to launder money lol. How else can she afford to be in Kensington ey?
Just up the street from the palace?
@@prepperjonpnw6482 What an ignorant and idiotic remark. She probably owns the shop. Not everyone is Kensington is filthy rich. There are middle class, working class and very poor people living in Kensington and yes, up the street from the palace.
What was pixelated out in the walking cane shop?
That German codpiece was belonged to the guy with the bow-legged wife!
😂
Just the reflection of someone's face, I think. Maybe an even more outrageous Teutonic codpiece?
Haha... just my own face! I was out of costume. It was a different day and i hate bad continuity.
@@Joolzguides More of a fishface than a codpiece, then! ('Fishface' was Princess Diana's nickname for Prince Charles. Or maybe it was the other way round. Am not sure.)
@@Joolzguides Blimey. There's me thinking it was a bit of Victorian contraband of antique porn or something, and turns out it's just Joolzy trying to cover his boat race for sake of continuity!
If we're allowed to discuss 'behind the scenes', do you film your videos in a single day on average, or is it common to 'patch them up' here-and-there over a a few different days?
@@pjgathergood6987, boat race, there's a bit of rhyming slang I haven't seen before. Thanks for that.
I'm still keeping the patchouli dream alive! 🌺
Joolz has such a likeable temperament, if only all Englishmen were like him
Magnificent Tour, my thanks Sir.
Regards
Another fascinating video Joolz, again I have wandered round this area a few times but missed many of these little details. Keep them coming Joolz.
I am from Argentina and i am living in London. I enjoy your videos! I hoce to visit all the places you show in your videos. Excelent work!!!
good to see and hear you again. i took a break-reading!
Love how the suit jacket corresponds with your hat! I just had to say that, as it literally brought me joy, I don't know why. Also loving the pants. And of course, thank you for the lovely video ♥
Trousers. Pants = underwear to the Brits.
Always time well spent with Joolz!
Great video! I'm planning our first trip to London for Spring 2021! Your videos are so helpful in my research for best places to tour! Thank you!
Thank you for taking us to the Linley- Sambourne house. I grew up in Canada with a book that detailed this house and the family.
Wonderful people, wonderful place, vile architecture.
Another excellent video Joolzy - when you went to Stafford Terrace I thought it was going to be another hat tip to Freddie as he lived at No. 12, but no, another interesting and just as eclectic gentleman lived along there as well...
I live in Kensington and never knew about the costume jewellery shop. Will definitely pop in to see!
O! The memories you've conjured: A few years back we nearly caused a diplomatic crisis because we paused a bit too long before a certain embassy on Kensington Palace Garden Road (we possessed a camera!). We were interrogated, unceremoniously ejected and invited not to return. It was then we decided to never purchase a home on that road.
Duke of Haas Which embassy?
We'd rather not say outright. It's a country situated east of the meridian line that cuts through Greenwich (see Julian's wonderful video of Greenwich!) and the embassy building itself is located no more than half way up the hill from the High Street entrance.
@@dukeofhaas Everywhere on Earth can be found by travelling east from the Greenwich meridian. I expect you were chased away for not having the right shaped reproductive organs.
I have also decided not to purchase a home there, mainly because I only have £2,000 In my Bank Account :)
Ah, thanks for taking me back to my childhood and youth. Used to live in High Street Ken and went to school in South Ken. Wish the NHM would bring back Dippy, I miss him.
Beautiful Kensington 💞
Really love your quirky walks around that great city. Always makes me smile! If I ever need a tour organiser I know who to look for!
I'm in London right now doing some of this, passed Enid Blyton's house site and blue plaque of Lady Diane old flat, loved Kensignton buildings red brickwork and whites stone all visually pleasing.
Just discovered this amazing channel and have been watching all day ... charming informative and thoroughly enjoyable - well done sir
