( i -> I, l -> L ) The name of the girl mentioned in the song is Eeva, like Eve in Bible, but the lyrics of the song are Savo dialect where the name is pronounced 'ieva'. Eevan polkka (Finnish language) -> Ievan polkka (Savo dialect ) -> Ievan Polka (English) meen Eve's polka.
It's 2024 and people still can't get the spelling (let alone pronunciation) right. There's no "L" in Ievan as it is a capital "i" and "Ievan Polkka" means "Ieva's (or Eva's) Polka" in Finnish!
