Detroit must be more affluent than I thought. The lack of Asian branded vehicles on the roads there, sort of proves it.
It’s because Detroit and its metro are home to Chrysler, Ford and GM. Almost everybody drives an American car here, except for rich people.

What is the purpose of this video? I did this drive twice daily back in the '70's and it was rarely as smooth as this.
