I used to have friends over once a month for what I called, "heart attack night". They'd bring over whatever they wanted as well as whatever I had in the fridge, and if we could get batter to stick to it, we'd deep fry it. We did PB&J's which were my favorite. Pizza, mushrooms, hotdogs, bacon, pickles, various sandwiches, all kinds of stuff

We've been doing this for years. Fry a turkey on Thanksgiving day and then because we still have the oil in a big pot we have Fryday where we just randomly batter and fry everything all day. You gotta try thick cut bacon fried like this. Leftover turkey with mashed potatoes wrapped in cornbread dressing ball like a hush puppy takes leftovers to the next level. Gonna try a couple of these next time as well. Maybe my favorite episode ever.

OK two things. Love making deep fried tortellini. Something to try is soaking them overnight in lemon juice first. The NY strip I wonder if you couldn't do a reverse sear method of cooking it but instead of the pan fry after the oven, deep fry that sucker instead. Then that way you get that nice color with the crispy outside.

I love deep frying. I used to cook somewhere and I used to do a deep fried grilled cheese with bacon and tomato as a lunch special. Used a wet batter from flour baking soda salt pepper and season all. Amazing flavor.

And if you were lucky enough to get your fries from the same basket they fried the pies in, the fries were insanely fukn awesome! There were a couple of stores that I went to, that if you went right before close, they would fry a couple of pies with your fries since they were gonna change the oil the next morning anyway!

with the meatballs cut in to them 3/4 times (depents on the size) before frying them -> more crispy edges, faster frying time and you can pull pieces off of them
