I always get a bit sad when I watch this types of videos because I graduated last year in high school, and it was always my dream to study in a japanese school since I was at 7 grade, but I watch anyways because the give me the felling of being there ❤️
Akashi Yamazaki u should do what I plan on doing in the future, save up all ur money every dollar every penny live with ur parents until u have what u need if u rlly want to go to Japan then u have got to be dedicated to saving ur money like srsly u can’t spend a cent. hope that helped a bit😊

Don't worry! You can still go to Japan and meet lots of people and really experience the Japanese life! It will still be such a great experience, don't worry about the past anymore and plan for all the amazing things you can do in the future! :)
It was my dream to be a high school exchange student too 😭 biggest regret, but since I’m graduated now, I’m going to apply for the Japanese exchange teaching program someday! If you can’t be the student you have plenty of time to be the teacher! Or you can do a college exchange :)
I feel you, I always wanted to go during my high school years but I couldn't, and now I'm almost finished with university, and I still want to go so bad, but it's time for me to look for a job and stop dreaming

Yeah of course, it depends if you study in an english school or one completely in Japanese. I went to one completely in Japanese and even though I knew the stuff/subjects I literally just found it hard to understand and actually take the tests because it was all in Japanese haha :)
One Of them its tough, im from seattle and a A and B student but i go to japan for summer and its tough but really fun to meet new people
im a sophomore in the US and take trigonometry which is pretty high level for 10th grade but in japan these guys are doing crazy stuff like calculus rt when they enter high school. Also they have to learn about old Japanese history from a long long time ago which is also very hard

Wow, good for you, I had to transfer schools because of how early the previous one was, 6:30am and I was always late and my teacher would not let me in so I would miss the first class :/// But my school that I transferred to starts at 7am, and when you're late you just have to get an excuse slip from the guard, write the reason why you're late then they will let you in the classroom unlike my previous school 🙄.

Oh no you never wanna go to a Korean school. I wake up in 5am and school starts in 7am. There are 10+ subjects i learn and school ends in 5pm. But after afterschool programs, tutoring, nd self study programs in school, students go back to home in 10pm. And then they saty up till they finish their homework or finish studing for tests.

진경최 seriously, how do you survive??? I honestly feel so bad for Korean high school students, they must be stressed out. I have heard that students feel way better when they go to university. I have been preparing my Korean to go to Korea and do my bachelor at a Korean university
I took a Jap class and my teacher said in her time there was only one day off from school and the rest of the week there is school.. I think summer break is only like 2 weeks. Correct me if I'm wrong thanks lol

That's because houses in Japan are expensive and families live outside the city. Luckily, traffic in Japan is almost nonexistent and even if it is, the delay is usually only a few minutes.
@@anima099 and when there's delay in train they apologize for it and handout like an excuse letter that will excuse the person if ever they come late to school or work
@@foi_kenneth sometimes the delay is due to people jumping on the tracks. I literally rode one that stopped suddenly and the explanation on the monitor was "man on tracks" holyshit

If I'm not too late, can I ask you a couple questions? What program did you travel with, and what was your required level of Japanese? I'm just curious because I'm interested in doing an exchange in my junior year and it seems like it would be fantastic to study in Japan! My level of Japanese is around an N5-ish.
I think lots a different programs have different skill requirements, I think what program you choose is a personal choice! Just do some research and look at the requirements of each program! I know a guy that went on the same program that I did and he applied two weeks before departure and then only started learning Japanese those two weeks before hand!! Crazy! He can now speak really good Japanese!

in my opinion, i feel like it's quite difficult sometimes for exchange students to blend in with students especially when you can't talk japanese. but it really depends.

why do you get to school before everyone else? just wondering 💓
I did it middle school, high school, and now (college). I just go early get some studying done and because I commute. I commute from my house so about (32miles one way or 64 miles to and from) so, now I just do it to make it on time. It takes anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours depending on work hour traffic, time of the day, ROAD CONSTRUCTION (I take four interstate/state roads/ highways/ motorways/ Major A whatever you call them), or holiday times. But, then, if I get there early I study for the lectures and read the chapters for the day and that kind of stuff, sit or lounge, or meet up with friends that are there or coming but later. That kind of thing.
Mainly because that was the only train that got me there in time, if I had left later then I would have been 2 minutes late! You get in lots of trouble if you are even a minute late!

My highschool at 8am : "aight that's the material now do this question in 30 min and then we gonna grade it."
For anyone that doesn't understand my school starts at 7:15 so at 8am we usually already completed the material and are already doing our quiz for the first period
Also Japanese school ended at 1PM? Jesus christ what? our school ended at 3pm and extended untill 5pm for club
the point is that i really should take japanese exchange program
On that day it ended at 1pm but most days it ends at 4:30

Yeah clubs go until really late! So it doesn’t include the clubs, clubs usually go until 6-6:30pm (depends what type of club you do) !
How about 7 to 6 every day with no club activities? And that's just junior high I'm talking about

Omg I know this is wayyy late but what do you do with lunch? Like do u make it yourself, or does your host family make it??
bit of both, it depends on the family! Sometimes the family will say they would like to make it for you or ask you to make it yourself! I used to help out sometimes, my second host family made me lunch all the time but the first didnt really have time so I made it for myself & just made sure to get the ingredients I wanted when they went to the supermarket!
