അനൂപ് എന്ന കലാകാരനാണ് മായാവി സീരീസിന്റെ നിര്‍മ്മാതാവ്. മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ പ്രമുഖ നടീ നടന്‍മാരെ മായാവി ചിത്രകഥയിലെ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളാക്കി മാറ്റുകയാണ് ഈ സീരീസിലൂടെ അനൂപ. ആര്‍ട്ട് ഓഫ് അനൂപ് എന്ന തന്റെ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റഗ്രാം പേജിലാണ് വരച്ച ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ അനൂപ് പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സീരീസ് കൂടുതല്‍ ആളുകളിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടിയാണ് മലയാളികള്‍ക്ക് സുപരിചിതമായ മുഖങ്ങള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ എക്‌സപ്രെസിന് നല്‍കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തില്‍ അനൂപ് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
മുമ്പ് പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്ക് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട താരങ്ങൾ തന്നെയാണ് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട കഥാപത്രങ്ങളായി മുന്നില്‍ എത്തിയത്. പ്രിയ താരങ്ങളായ കാളിദാസ് ജയറാമും, നസ്രിയയുമായിരുന്നു രാജുവും രാധയും. കൂടാതെ പുട്ടാലു, ലുട്ടാപ്പി, ഡാകിനി, കുട്ടൂസന്‍, വിക്രമന്‍, മുത്തു, ലൊട്ട്‌ലൊടുക്ക്, ഗുല്‍ഗുലുമാല്‍ എന്നീ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെയും അനൂപ് വരച്ചിരുന്നു. ചെമ്പന്‍ വിനോദായിരുന്നു പുട്ടാലു. ബിജുകുട്ടനായിരുന്നു ലുട്ടാപ്പി. പിഷാരടി മുത്തുവും, ഷമ്മി തിലകന്‍ വിക്രമനും. മാമുക്കോയ കുട്ടൂസനായപ്പോള്‍ ഫിലോമിന ഡാകിനിയായെത്തി. ലൊട്ടുലൊടുക്കായി പ്രദീപ് കോട്ടയവും, സലീം കുമാര്‍ ഗുല്‍ഗുലുമാലുമായി.

This is just an inspirational work based on legendary Mayavi series appearing in Balarama, children's weekly for over 4 decades. I grew up on these characters as I learn to read and I feel immense pleasure re-looking at them in my perspective. I hope each and everyone familiar with these classic Malayalam comic strip characters will enjoy them the way I do. I have no intention to tweak, manipulate the original characters in any wrong or negative dimension. Also I extend my deep respect and love towards the Actors featured.
