Boro make it three wins at Old Trafford in five appearances as Cameroonian striker Joseph-Désiré Job fires in the winner from the edge of the box late on.
My favourite of our Old Trafford triumphs. Probably because of (a) not one, but *two* Juninho headers, (b) a young Stewart Downing playing without fear, and claiming an assist, (c) a Southgate masterclass, not long after he was linked with United, (d) Job’s winner, a combination of a fine Doriva ball and exceptional placement, and (e) that we still did it despite surrendering a two-goal lead.
Other observations: (a) Loved our passing for goals 1 and 3. There was a fluid, patient synergy in tandem with solidity at the best of times, not unlike the Karanka years, albeit with better players here. (b) The win was Typical Boro. Days before we’d limply lost 1-0 at home to a middling Blackburn, Jon Stead getting the only goal. Perhaps our cause was helped here because we’d already been written off and the pressure wasn’t on us to deliver.
Mendieta, Doriva, Zenden, Downing, Juninho in midfield ... holy hell

dorivas touch combined with jobs finish made it an incredible goal. now we have a number 9 who keeps putting his shoes on the wrong way round.
