What an amazing adventurous type of route, very different than most of the other ultras at this distance that I’ve watched. It was amazing to see all of the different types of scenery around Puget sound. I also noticed in this edit you showed more of the mental and physical side of it, awesome to see more of what you are going through between checkpoints. And one more thing, what a cool woman you have bro. She definitely has your back!
Hi Tommy! Thanks for watching I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I’m incredibly lucky to have partnered with a wonderful and loving woman. I am blessed to share these adventures with her.
Loved watching this loop! I'm amazed how you continue to conquer these unique places. And keep tackling the 200 distance. Kudos! I had to chuckle at your funnel for the powder. I started to use a collapsible one in races. My friends thought I was nuts, but the aid volunteers loved it
Thank you Sean! It really makes me happy to know this stuff connects for you. I love making this content, I love the adventure that we document, and that it all strikes a chord with you is extra awesome. 🙌🏼
I'm going to update the "Runners Guide" that Dave and I used with learning from the run, it will be on the Puget Sound 200 web site. A very important thing to know is, it is dangerous and often the roads have little to no shoulder. Be very visible and very vigilant. It is a fun journey though!
I grew up in western Washington, it was fun to see you run through so many familiar spots. You did great! I'm from the Olympia area. I use to do fire, but I also did rafting on the Skagit and Wenatchee. Such a beautiful state❤
Wow! Amazing job! I dropped in for part of the premier, but returned to watch the whole video though. I can't imaging running 200 miles. Thanks for sharing this journey!
So Good!! Congratulations Wes (and Dave, of course) for this Amazing Adventure! I liked sooo much the trail sections and the woman that gave you a coke on the Road!😂😂 Congratulations again and this "race" was a very good idea!! 🎉🎉🎉
Really enjoy watching all of your videos. Your positive attitude and the adventures you go on have motivated my wife and I to start training for some ultras. We just knocked out our first half marathon ever and are planning on taking on the Big Foot 40 as our first ever ultra. Keep up the awesome work you are doing!!
Running around Mt St Helens will make for an epic first ultra! I’m so happy these videos have inspired you two, I really hope you have amazing experiences on the trail.
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to make the video. Not sure if you have tried, but ever thought about using 2 pairs of socks when doing a lot of road miles? Seems to help me.... then again, 200 miles...geesh! Gratz and keep em coming!
I have worn two pairs for hiking before, not running. There’s probably enough room in the wide Hokas. Thankfully I didn’t have any blisters after this run.
I would love to visit out there. I’m doing the Hitchcock 100k in a couple weeks then hopefully the Cool Moon 100k in June. I shared the Bandera 100k with you but you smoked me lol. It takes a lot of discipline to accomplish something like this. Great job and thank you for sharing!
I’ve been asked that, I just don’t know what to show. My training isn’t very interesting. Other athletes are good with strength training and mobility exercises. I’m not. You can see on my Strava that I just run, and nothing very crazy either.
Thanks for taking us along. I spent a wonderful vacation there once. Although for running I prefer Arizona 😅. Congratulations for finishing this course in such a great time.
This company was recommended by other running friends who created their own buckles... metalsomeart.com I'm really thrilled with how my buckle turned out.
Kinda, we weren’t pushing too hard though which helped. While I was constantly complaining about my legs hurting, the recover afterwards was fast! Faster than any trail ultra.
This is a cool story. The first one you saw follows me on Facebook where I had posted about our planned run. She's also a runner, and a while back ran her own 50 mile adventure running around Camano Island and he had rallied community support for her run through a community Facebook group. She posted to that group about our run and encouraged residents to encourage us if they saw us. We had several people stop to cheer us on, one couple had been waiting on their deck overlooking the road for us to pass by, others cheered and waved as they drove by. We had satellite trackers and a public tracking page so those who were interested could follow our progress close to real-time. The warm reception of those on Camano Island really boosted our spirits. We wished we'd captured video of all those we talked to.

How awesome it must be to just do this distance with a good friend.
It was amazing. Really bonding and special.
Thanks!
WOW! Thank you for the Super Like! I really appreciate the extra support for the channel. Thank you!
Amazing adventure. Thanks for sharing your journey. Keep smiling. 😊
Thank you for watching! 🙌🏼
Thank you, Wes and crew for this beautiful run. I really enjoy your videos - feels like I'm right there (less the hard work).
Thank you for watching!

I was so stoked to fit that small funnel, it is awesome. Thanks for watching Vagn! 🙌🏼
Way to go gentleman! Looked like a great adventure!
Thanks, this was tough but we had a good time in the end.
Thank you. Enjoyed vicariously when I should have started work for the day 😂
Right on, happy to provide a distraction! 🙌🏼
Cool adventure!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely crazy. And Epic.
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for continuing to put out fantastic content that is inspiring to a middle of the pack, over 50, adventurer like myself
Thank you Sean! It really makes me happy to know this stuff connects for you. I love making this content, I love the adventure that we document, and that it all strikes a chord with you is extra awesome. 🙌🏼
This is amazing! This is on my bucket list item for next year 🙋
Thank you for sharing this incredible route and journey!

@@wplate that's good to know. I saw the high visibility gear y'all had on. I'll make sure to get something similar.
What an awesome trip and amazing video. Congrats and kudos on the crew!
Thank you for watching!
Congrats Wes! So many “waddle/pain” starts after each stop. Way to persevere and finish!
Stiffness more than pain in those waddles. It is tough to get moving again after a rest, even a brief rest. 🙌🏼
Love this so much! A self-supported 200 is so much harder than an organized race.
We should team up for an adventure one day.
@@wplate for sure!
Brilliant...well done Wes and Team...great adventure...
Thank you!
Love your videos Wes, such good production. Watching from UK. I also love watching Jeff P and Kerry W
Thank you! 🙌🏼
Amazing! Congratulations 👍🏼🎉
Thank you!!

Except for the doldrums of winter the PNW is amazing. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed watching this.

Thank you for watching our journey Chad! And thank you so much for supporting the channel with your membership! It means a lot to me. 🙌🏼
Congrats Wes and Dave on an incredible journey! These POV videos take me to such a calm and happy place, thank you for continuing to share.
I’m happy you enjoyed this! Thanks for watching.

Another amazing video! You should think about running Ragnar NWP! 200 ish same area- lots of fun!
I have been on two NWP relay teams. I agree it is a lot of fun! Some of this route was inspired by what NWP did and didn’t do.
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to make the video. Not sure if you have tried, but ever thought about using 2 pairs of socks when doing a lot of road miles? Seems to help me.... then again, 200 miles...geesh! Gratz and keep em coming!

The PNW is beautiful. Planning this project was a lot of fun, I really got to know the area a lot deeper.
Would love to see some videos on your training and how you prepare for the 200 mile efforts!

Way to go! Keep watching out for those Mustangs!
lol good life advice! 🙌🏼
Nice video Wes. Having a sparing partner in Dave made for a new perspective. Good to see you're a Clifton guy too 😉
It was so fun sharing the entire journey with Dave. The Cliftons were really awesome for this!
Thanks for taking us along. I spent a wonderful vacation there once. Although for running I prefer Arizona 😅. Congratulations for finishing this course in such a great time.
The PNW is a beautiful place to visit indeed! Thanks for watching.
Where did you get the buckled made to commemorate this adventure?
This company was recommended by other running friends who created their own buckles... metalsomeart.com
I'm really thrilled with how my buckle turned out.
I bet the road pounding and relatively flat elevation must have felt harder than a trail ultra?
Kinda, we weren’t pushing too hard though which helped. While I was constantly complaining about my legs hurting, the recover afterwards was fast! Faster than any trail ultra.
So one of you came in first place and the other came in DFL lmao
I prefer to say we tied, but you're also right! 😂
How did those random people know you were passing by?
This is a cool story. The first one you saw follows me on Facebook where I had posted about our planned run. What does your race/run calendar look like for 2024?
wesplate.com will have my schedule as it develops. Cocodona in May, hopefully Divide 200 in Sept. I’ll do a couple 50Ks in the spring I think.
You running bigfoot again in 2024?
No, there are a bunch of other 200s out in the world I want to do. Maybe someday I’ll return to Bigfoot.
