Digging the anamorphic look Ash! Beautiful work, as always! Looks like you were using actual ones, yeah? SLR magics, maybe? Or something higher end? The oval bokeh is easy enough to fake on spherical lenses with filters but that soft CA and barrel distortion on the edges of the frame looks like the real deal!

Been tempted to get into a system like this for a while so the director doesn't always have to be on top of the camera but never had the spare cash. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the SmallHD Focus Bolt - you said you'd had bad experiences with Terradeck but that system looks fantastic for keeping the camera package and director's monitor small and light.
Also loving the anamorphic shots inside - guessing you had to pile on the diopters but they looked fantastic as ever.

anamorphic for sure and it's not emulated it's the real deal :) I think we can see the lens on the camera setup not the Red, the bigger with the square hood

it's an anamorphic lens for sure those flares and that smooth bokeh can't be obtained with regular glass

Teradek user here. Vaxis looks a lot bigger. If I was buying now I'd get the Teradek/Small HD collab.
Hey Joe! Absolutely. The new all in one looks great and it's what I would consider as a first time purchase but there are some inherent limitations when it comes to flexibility given that it's built in and you can't change the screen or the wireless. :)
Ash Tailor it's certainly a commitment but if I could get 2 series worth of use out of it it would pay for itself.

probably not, it's most definitely anamorphic the higher end
mounorman I suggested that because of you know the swirly bokeh .I honestly don't know if that is a common effect from really high end anamorphic lenses.
