It’s not that having an accent is bad; it’s *bad* when you want to be an *English teacher* -teaching philosophy to your English speaking audience and slur/don't annunciate A LOT of your words. How are you supposed to learn from someone that you can’t understand and is supposed to be “intellectual”?
The idea that something should be understandable is just capitalist oppression. It's racist and transphobic too.
These rich kids are weirdos Britt. They are bored and they want to save all the poor poor Ewoks of the world.
Her english is better than 95 percent of english teachers I’ve had in my entire education history. You have no clue how bad english teachers are in non english speaking countries.

I know in one of her videos she says an essential component of leftist thought is moral relativism and I'm like wait what? Since when? I did a philosophy phd (I know shut up) and 90% of people were leftist af and moral objectivists & realists because literally what is the point of discussing moral issues if you don't think there's a fact of the matter about what is or isn't wrong?
@@poosciferi think you do that if you have that ideology. For example i think these two things are true, a society needs morals too exist and right and wrong do exist in the context of a society but in grander scheme of things morality doesnt really exist. Like morality is something that humans created too seperate us from the other animals.
@@poosciferlike the animal that will throw her baby infronf of a predator so they can escape is morally wrong if we look at it from with morals but they arent wrong their just surviving. @@pooscifer that's the point. Leftism is a religion. It's supposed to be contradictory and incoherent. This is no accident. Socialism is a religious faith like Christianity, or any other. If it was clear and concise then it would expose itself for what it is. A scam for the dumb masses.

@@katnightingale2451 I grew up in France, and she sounds very much like the teenagers and young people at universities that are very invested in politics without real world experience. The attitude of knowing better, always thinking of having an opinion even if they are shallow, being very feminist (although this is normal, I lived in the north and young people are generally very far left and feminist as a byproduct of France being socialist), questioning the other opinion as already lesser or wrong. At HS I had a situation once at 17 where the ecologist activist proposed as a subject of debate in class "Is degradation of property as an act of social rebellion justified?" Although he was 17 and very well off without any experience of the real world as it is, as many others that are very politically engaged. Wait. So in her Utopia, you still have to buy the house off the state which is then given back to the state for free. Somehow she managed to make a system even more exploitive than the one we currently live in.
See, we are too uneducated to understand the complexities of why that is clearly a BETTER system.
We need to listen to more BIPOC philosophers and be re-educated.
Yeaaaah the problem with many political debates (left and right) is how few people actually understand economics and how to run a functioning government without pissing off your citizens
It’s always these Reddit-tier forever renting intellectuals that has never owned property outside of buying a phone in their name that wants to lecture others how they should own shit…
A lot of it is often Americans that fall for this shit (they probably make up a large chunk of her demographics) because at the core of it all … they rent and don’t like their landlords. That’s what it usually boils down to. Because more often than not, when it’s someone that actually has property that is of value, they do what they can to protect this shit and keep it as their own. I don’t think any breadtuber owns anything … it’s either their parents that owns the house they’re filming in or they’re renting some shit apartment somewhere in an area they were conned into thinking they needed to live to ~make it~ in life.
They are big mad over the landlord/tenant dynamic and don’t want to put in any effort to try and own anything because they let the “my parents’ generation had it better than mine, capitalism bad, why even bother trying” mentality, so it should magically be given to them for free by the government because they don’t want to manage shit.
@@Dr3Mc3Ninja I dint know if they're bisexual, but Singapore does that
no, this is the system we currently live in. The state (giant mafia) is in control of your life. You use their worthless tokens to purchase things, the land you own is simply rented from them, and your wage is stolen to pay them to rule you.
She’s boasting about getting to exploit vulnerable children from broken homes for ideological experimentation? Is she really this lacking in self awareness or is she intentionally trying to sound as callous and evil as possible?
The banality of evil is what we're dealing with, here.
doing 'experiments' on children... is all the rage these days...
To her I am sure John Money’s experiment is relative and probably even good.
But remember, morality is relative, so its ok for her
I think so much of this stays in the realm of theory. If someone saw what it looked like in practice, most would be horrified. I would guess that they are primed to reject the evidence, though. Modern life seems to prime most of us to recoil or react to things that trigger us, which keeps us in the fog (at least partially). But when you are punished if you try to see through the fog, it could be much harder
She's into French stuff and thinks kids coming from broken homes are a chance for "experimentation"...I don't like where this is going lol
Multi baby daddy mentality....
Trust the bloody French to push this crap.
I know someone who had a baby.
The baby had a small growth on the scalp.
The nurse asked if the mother and father were related.
The mother was horrified and said no, definitely not.
The nurse explained that the area they lived in had a number of babies born with deformities/disfigurements as there was a lot of inbreeding in the area -low income area that would have a lot of single parent houses.
Multiple baby daddies directly results in inbreeding. People are cousins or half siblings without knowing it.
In UK, a colossal number of babies born with birth defects are from the Pakistani community, which is a result of their cultural practice of first cousin marriages.
@@Dr3Mc3Ninja That and polyamory, which is an obsolete concept, contributes to inbreeding. It's a shame there are some "progressives" out there who think it's ok to defend it.
"French stuff"... what?
As a French myself and living in Paris, I can tell you right away, she's either from the upper middle class or the upper class. Like all of her kind, the Bobos, she's a hypocrite full of good feelings for the underdog (namely low social ranking lumpenproletariat immigrants and delinquants), but has a raging hatred for people who try to make it on their own without resorting to victimhood or the oppression card.
"Thing is a social construct" is one of the most annoying arguments to make when you're trying to invalidate that thing. Literally everything can be a social construct if you're pedantic enough about it, doesn't mean those things aren't useful for society.
99% of those things existed way before societies were a thing
This. Laws, being good people can be considered a social construct. Social construct arguement is not an arguement for why something should be removed.
ah-ah-ah social construct doesn't mean thing should be removed. It means thing can be removed and it's of course not the critique in itself. Why would you come up with invented arguments your opponent makes? Not very steel-maning of you haha

Alice is fascinating to watch for one main reason. Her "morality is relative/subjective" view is not an opinion, its a reflection of her own inability to evaluate information. Like the comical "time is a social construct" video, she will move between human use of clocks, to the rotation of the Earth, to lifespan, all in two sentences without realizing they are different things. Her inability to discern between good and bad information is the defining characteristic of her worldview. She can absorb information, but cannot make value judgments of it without use of an associated political flag as a cue.
The thoughts are amorphous, while the flag stays forever the same. For all her talk of breaking down barriers, she is the perfect case study in socialized conformity.
You hit the nail on the head.
Just by the title of her videos that were suggested to me, I had a hunch I would just feel dumber and like I've wasted a lot of time hearing someone speak who doesn't even have any original thoguht of their own, or actual, profound insight on anything
It's funny because I think Jordan Peterson's arguments are flawed for the same reason but coming from the opposite morality. He seems to absorb information but his solutions always seem too idealistic and would only work for a certain sub-section of the population, the people who more or less share his morality. He's not great at accounting for others.
When I run into women like Alice in real life I feel like they're hell bent on breaking the social norms just because. It feels performative and I don't think the end results of their actions are very well thought out.
Bravo, couldn't have said it better myself!

What's your take on tribes / extended values/ schools. I'm sort of convinced by the value of something a little bigger adjacent to the nuclear family
@@tomwright9904I’m African, so tribes are still a thing here. Specifically, I’m Ugandan. Families back then were largely structured in a polygamous manner whereby rich men would have several wives with whom he lived in a homestead. I think the whole “it takes a village” thing perpetuates in such smaller communities that are largely polygamous. In the polygamous sense, the wives would look after each others’ children since they were all related so it wasn’t too much of an issue. But even in a more nuclear setting, it presumes a number of factors such as social cohesion, limited outside interference, and strong oversight and submission to the authority of elders. It also presumed that family members do not live too far from each other, ensuring that children grew around their extended family and thus aunts and uncles etc played a role in raising the children. This is naturally becoming increasingly less common in urban areas but is still very much a thing in rural places.
I grew up on a council estate in Liverpool on the 1980's, these people ALWAYS come from the middle class or higher and have never actually dealt with government dependence and how bad your standard of living is. They have no frame of reference for real poverty so believe communism will just lead to them living a middle class life without working.
Communism is not distribution of wealth communism is distribution of poverty.
They never have a clue about struggle. That's why they spend their time making longwinded videos about frivolous topics for the validation of fellow middle class girlies.
they believe no such thing. They are part of a religious faith and their goal is to convert you to their religion. Just like a Jehovah's witness, or what have you. It's that simple. Marx followed this religion, and so did Hitler, and Mosley, and all socialists throughout history. The system is designed to put them, the ring leaders, in power, on the backs of the confused and unwashed masses.
Yes thank you! She really grinds my gears talking about group homes. The foster care system suckkkkssss. Why would you break up happy healthy nuclear families????

Which is funny since that’s all they would’ve able to eat.
As a broken home child, I would've given anything for a stable nuclear family with traditional values. Instead of the domestic violence, drug addiction, poverty, homelessness and time spent in the juvenile justice system that was my youth. "Young radicals" like these have usually never experienced the consequences of ideals they promote
No, no, they understand the consequences, that's why they want it.
Don't make me tap the sign: "They are unironically evil and want to diddle kids!"
What do you think is more likely to help deal with that situation? Do you think the answer is simply to promote the nuclear family, or is the answer helping people in that situation by increasing resources (not to police but to social workers), programs to deal with homelessness, and a functioning justice system? Do you not see that the people promoting the nuclear family are also often responsible for moving money away from such programs?

you perfectly fit this description, how ironic
i agree, this youtuber is a hypocrite, their videos are full of ad hominem
@@weiss_schnee_ When she sticks to drama content attacking assholes who go out of their way to be assholes to people, the ad hominem of the channel is delicious.
This vid wasn't that though.
I bet Alice is very happy about the riots going on in France at the moment.
Considering what flashed at the beginning of the video, yeah, I bet she does.
God I’m so happy she doesn’t even come close to representing my country on anything. I kid you not even the socialist party, which is at an all time low in France, condemned those riots and the attacks on public officials, and the biggest leftist party that tried to federate the left, and was managing to do so quite well until now, completely f*cked themselves over in the polls and in their own alliance when they didn’t condemn the riots and had the demented idea to instead say that justice should be done (when the policeman responsible was already being detained awaiting trial, so really zero freakin reason to even act as if justice wasn’t going to be done).
The cognitive dissonance to look and say “this isn’t the fault of those setting the fires: they’re the true victims and it’s a very good thing out government allowed mass immigration from countries with radically divergent beliefs & societal/behavioral expectations!”
(I love how breadtube is desperately trying to avoid the ‘France is burning’ “discourse” and the American Muslims vs LGBTQ activists conflicts over Pride school curriculum. The dissonance is palpable.)
@psychegoddessoflight9358 There's a book written by a Frenchman called Camp of the Saints on the topic of mass immigration. I think you'll enjoy it.
@@psychegoddessoflight9358 Yeah to be fair the « France is burning » discourse is pretty dumb, France isn’t burning, not even close, it wasn’t even true a week ago when the riots were at their height, so pretending as if France is burning right now would be insanity, ignorance or disingenuousness.
@@nathanjora7627 What do you think of the riots, out of interest?
A lot of “video essays” come off as so self righteous to me because they nitpick and make everything so NEGATIVE while acting as if their OPINIONS are facts.
American cant handle other countries existing part 10000000
Brittany shows a lot of ignorance with this one here.
Couldn’t get through the “accent” jabs and then had to switch off on the housing part.
Singapore - which is one of the richest places on the planet - already has policies where you don’t actually own the place even after you die (well, you do - but just for a bit)… and it works much better than what we have in the west, where everything is owned by Blackrock.
I take idealists over conservatives any time of the day when it comes to housing.
Tbf Singapore is not only super different from America or France, it's pretty unique amongst countries for a host of reasons. But I completely agree that this video was just super weak and petty. Not to sound snobbish, but it really felt like Brittany just wasn't smart enough to understand what she was saying, but knew she hated it, so focused on attacking her accent and other petty stuff instead of dealing with the ideas themselves.
I am part of a Christian philosophy club at my college. I see individuals like these all the time.
You would think Christians would be more pro family and less communist.
@@MrAwombatthe opposite of pro-family is not communist, think before you post.
@@MrAwombatWe are definitely pro family, at least the official members are. But our whole deal is that we invite just about anyone to talk to us. And being on a college campus we often get exactly who you would expect.
@@joelofjudah9144 that's really cool that you guys do that.
@@Ivan-xk4uy the original comment said "individuals like these". The people in the video were anti family and Communist so that's why I mentioned both. That being said, communism and being anti family are pretty tightly bound. Even Marx wrote about the dissolution of the family
Thank you Brittany, I always wanted soap that smelled like coffee beans. My asshole smells like a fresh Venti from Starcucks.
Even if the points you were trying to make were completely true, they're completely overshadowed by the mean girl energy lol. It's not cute in high school and it's definitely not cute in your late twenties.
frr
There's nothing wrong with being mean to mean girls.
The outfit is killer. I like that, I see what you did there Venti. 😇 Havin a mom and dad is very essential.
you absolutely kill it at this type of content
I’m not a fan of communism or capitalism but bro… she just has an accent. I’m English and I can understand her… 🤷♀️ your lack of accent diversity doesn’t make her uneducated in English… it makes you uncultured 😂 😂
Yeah I can’t take her seriously when she starts off by mocking someone having an accent while speaking a foreign language.
Immediately makes me feel like she has nothing intelligent to say and just some hatred to spread.
then you are uneducated
i was excited to hear her perspective about this youtuber but yeah i don’t like her argument regarding her accent. it’s so backwards to think that having an accent while speaking english makes you less intellectual. im an english teacher in southeast asia (and i have a very distinct accent that so obviously separates me from native speakers) and it sucks that people still think this way. she could’ve stuck with the content of the youtuber instead.
Also, most people learn english with an english accent. Not an american one. I dont like a lot of things that she says (about house ownership and her talking about all poor southamericans to the point it sound like mocking) but mocking her accent isnt it.
How much did Alice pay you guys?
Oh my god, thank you for this video! I'm from Ukraine, we had to go through communist experiments with society, economy and country governance in general for about 70 years when we were a part of the Soviet Union, and let me tell you - the only equality you get is everyone are equally poor and equally oppressed (with the exception of some high-ranking party officials). Also, you know this legendary high level of corruption, very common in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus (any post-soviet country, honestly) - yeah, that is also a communist era legacy. Which is why I get so annoyed seeing this "communism good-capitalism bad" type of nonsense spreading all over youtube, from people who have no idea about all that. Also, the idea of children being raised not by family but by institution - yeah, it already exists in practically every country, called "orphanage", and I have yet to see statistics that shows orphanages are better for kids than their own families.
I'm Georgian and I think you're delusional if you think CCCP was communist. Please read marxist theory!
The soviet union was fucking terrible. I'm genuinely sickened when I see leftists online talking about their dream society and its just the soviet union with a woman leading it. They talk about how we need to learn from history but like, have they? And the way they call you "uneducated" when you disagree is just so disgusting.
Unbelievable i mostly agree with Brittany for once. Altho i have no problem understanding the accent. Seems to be a pattern of Americans not being able to understand foreign accents.
Maybe they should just learn to speak English correctly and stop forcing an accent.
Nah I'm American and I disagree with Britney on that too
Leftist Video Essayists be like:
"This is offensive! that's offensive! Everything's offensive that I don't agree with"
Or it's like "everything you like is evil actually" which means that if the audience likes them then eventually they'll think the creator is also bad because that's how they're being trained to see the world.
There were 2 big creators who did that, I think ones name was Lacy Green or something and I forget the others name. They spend hours and hours criticizing shit then go into full meltdown mode when it happens to them.
@@Aaron-kj8dv "that's how they're being trained to see the world" I agree and also to add on to that idea -- I've noticed these 'intoob-deck-tool' youtubers lol, will have these strange exaggerated features. Like if they see themselves through a skewed lens, wouldn't it also skew the way they view the world? Like what made that person think that looks good on their face shape (Mina Lee) or body type? Almost like body dysmorphia but the skewed perspective leeches into their ability to use common sense and reason.
You already said this
@nolord2563 I made this comment first. Then made the other
You just described the state of florida and why they got rid of books
I'm late to this but i NEED to mention something about her property argument. When people talk about how there won't be any personal property, they mean land used for profit eg. landlords renting out apartments. It refers to property you can PROFIT off of, not your own house. Taking away any security you built for your family as soon as you die sounds like hell, and I'd consider myself a far leftist.
Amen
It's all craziness. Politic brain makes people dumb.
She literally gave the ENGLISH name of the french book in that clip and she spoke about it in ENGLISH, have you considered that maybe that the french copy was the only one that was on her? Also how many language do you speak? Because her English is actually impressive and I understand it perfectly, as for your "I only criticised her accent because she wants to be an English teacher" is ridiculous. Having an accent doesn't have anything to do with good you are at the language. Americans are so delusional.
Having an accent for a language youre trying to accurately teach is objectively retarded. If I tried to teach someone arabic of any dialect while having a having a heavy Scottish accent, shit would not work out because I 100% would not be accurately depicting the proper pronounciations. enunciation is important, and sure her accent doesn't need to be 100% American, but it genuinely sounds like shes drunk with how much she slurs words due to her mothertongue. yikes.
This is anti intellectualism. It is fine to disagree with someone, but you made fun of her accent and argued against her with hypotheticals and sarcasm. She has a thesis that she reinforces with research, sources, and peer reviewed studies. You made a 20min video just to "Shut up nerd" someone who reads more than you. Not to mention cherry picking someone's video and explaining the context as it happens isn't really a fair representation of someone's work. I honestly don't know how you feel about anything and I don't care, but I do know that French women would dust you in any academic setting. YOU MADE FUN OF HER SOURCES FOR BEING IN A LANGUAGE YOU DON'T SPEAK, and you think you're the smart one?
Thanks, I found this video ridiculous
Unfortunately she'd probably proudly agree that it's anti-intellectualism. Definitely her worst video I've seen thus far, she needs to stick to punching low at the people who deserve it by being assholes to people all on their own.
On the subject of celibacy, what Alice and other people in woke culture gloss over is that most of us who are millennials or younger got force-fed hookup culture and p*rn. I don’t think woke people understand that celibacy was born in biblical times as a spiritual revolt against the acts of degeneracy that occurred during the days of Sodom and Gomorrah for a variety of reasons:
#1) as a way to focus on the spiritual journey you have with God
#2) to maintain a clean body, mind, and spirit until you find your soul mate (as your body is to be treated as a temple)
#3) for those unable to procreate
There is nothing about celibacy that is inherently political. It is spiritual in every sense of the word. Why must everything be politicized by woke people?
They associate religion with the right, to them it is political
@@nicoledoubleyou It’s so sad but true.
they are Godless. politics and social justice is their substitute religion.
So true! Growing up in a culture where p*rn is so normalized has made so many young people have an adversarial view of s*x, understandably so. There's nothing political about it.
@@nicoledoubleyou do they not realise that historically who had communist or liberals also had religious values, people back then also fought for religious liberty, I'm an atheist but for some reason if you believe in god it automatically makes you a right wing or conservative for some reason!
Remember in The Sopranos, where Tony's goomah mentions of an independent school that teaches these things and she's disgusted by it?
I understand why good people would be drawn to these ideologies, and it takes a huge paradigm shift to see the parasitic aspects of them. For one, the leaders of these movements use re-defined, difficult language to obscure the darker details (New Discourses decodes these writings at length and is worth checking out). These ideologies are about imposing reality on yourself and others rather than engaging with it as it is. This includes forcing programs that may actually harm the groups they are supposed to help-“the people” tend to end up starved in the end.
“the community should raise your kids”. why are parents never considered a part of the communities by these people? a good rule of thumb is, if someone mentions “capitalism” unironically, they’re not a serious person.
no, rule of thumb is, if someone opposes capitalism, they are uneducated or liars.
@AverageAlien So if you oppose human life not being valued and exploited you are an uneducated or a liar? Its hypocritical when you Do not accept socialism for its failure when capitalism clearly isnt the best System for most people. It is corrupt and only focuses on monetary gain which leaves people disenfranchised, i actually support the making of a new system which doesent hurt as many humans. It might be unrealistic for some people But progress always has been

As someone who is a newly single mother (not by choice) but is, I can say, I'm very blessed to also have my family in my life to help and strong men so it can try to be as normal as possible for my daughter, but I know the stats are against me and I have to be on high alert of all these issues and these people who spew this garbage don't ever have kids themselves, have no idea how much it can affect a child's emotions, and saying time is just a made up stupid thing is like legit one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.. Even without jobs or school, you need to know what season and time it is even to get dressed usually or have a decent bedtime so ur mental health - (which these people claim to care about.) - will not suffer, like lol u need time wth.
P.s. love the hat!
I feel like people forget that ending in a single-parent household (or absent of both) falls into varying factors: death, illness, abuse, etc. Having two willing people to raise a child isn’t always viable. It still doesn’t mean you should leave children to a group of strangers. I believe you should offer resources and support groups to allow struggling parents to raise their children in a safe, loving environment. Structure isn’t always restraining; if done well, it can create harmony.
I will say, for as smart as Brit is, some of these counterarguments are pretty disingenuous. Also, I don't think it's entirely fair to use American statistics when we're talking about something that's happening in France
