“If you’re gonna be wrong, you better be strong.”
I’m generally in favor of lifters selecting their projected totals, underestimating if they want to avoid A sessions but this class took it to an extreme. 2 lifters from the D session in the top 7. Only 6 lifters from this session in the top 10. Crazy. If everyone chooses the Rahmat method of selecting totals you could conceivably have an A session with no medalists. Right now there is the 20 kilo rule for overestimating your total; perhaps there should be some kind of rule/penalty for underestimating the total. Otherwise you might as well pull 40 names out of a hat and assign lifters to one of the four sessions.
Yeah I agree. That can get dicey. Do you know where and when the other sessions lift relative to when the A session lifts?
The sessions progress DCBA or however many sessions there are. 4 sessions is a large competition. Lower estimated totals moving to higher totals of course.
you're absolutely correct.
1) Kick out the press out. Goddamn it's getting annoying to see so many decent lifts overturned and time wasted.
2) Why do we even have sessions split like this? I don't understand the point of it anymore. Rahmat took advantage of it, which is fine and all, good for him. But now it just needs to be fused into one session, else we might have an A session without medalists one day, which would be absolutely ridiculous.
You’re limited by the number of lifters in each session. 10 is about right. More than 12 and things get clogged up to much especially with misses. You really don’t want guys wanting 30 minutes between attempts.
We need to decide the most entertaining way to divide the lifters and do that.@@johndoherty-hh2ck
they could also put in a ranking system so once you are a A lifter you lift A unless you can prove some type of injury. Like in powerlifting once you lift at Senior level you cannot go back and lift against less experienced lifters just to get a trophy.
Right. Once your total is top ten then you’re automatically A unless like you said there is some injury or drastic change. Has to be something different.
The Turkish lifters should have a good fight the next couple of months. Only one of them can go to Paris and they are within a couple kgs of each other. I can easily see Genc getting the 187 and more, he got it to arms length. He did 182 as a 67 last year. Myamato has a terrific lockout in both snatch and jerk. His elbows are absolutely rigid when he has it at arms length. Suharevs did 341 at Dohar. Maybe he has solved his jerk problems he had here. Currently 4th on Paris ranking list; should get in easily.
That post-lift camera person is VERY close-up aggressive.👀
Anyone know what was up with Ritvars?
His technique was missing on his jerks not strength that did him in. He got 186 at Qatar in December. If he stays healthy he’ll be alright for Paris.
Nah bro that was not a technique issue, he did not forget how to lift. There was some injury or issue.@@johndoherty-hh2ck
First comment, get the worms
The judges and Jury should have to justify and explain their decisions if there is a challenge card played. Mitsunori got robbed of that 181 after a hard fight. Yeah he could've stood longer but damn it was a good lift!
I dont think he showed control long enough... very close
I agree. He was still moving his feet, just a hair but enough.

1:12 They did him dirty with that picture 😭
😂😂😂😂😂😂
é muita burrice ficar tampando quando o atleta cai no chão, ainda bem que existe o video pra voltar a imagem, se não tiver fratura exposta, mostra para o púbico
How in the world did Wei Yinting’s last snatch count. I’ve seen a lot stiffer elbows get called out as no lifts. I’ll never understand the press out rule and how it’s judged, but if you’re going to have the rule enforce it… If not get rid of it so we can see more made lifts and heavier made lifts.
his arms were stretched out the whole time, doesn't matter how much more stiff you want it to be
