Couple of cheapy suggestions. Get a pack of JB WELD mix it up per instructions, then put just a tiny dab on the stove damper/flu where the shaft runs through the round plate CAUTION DON'T LET IT GET ON PIPE OR THE Damper WILL BE WELDED INTO PLACE!!!!
Also maybe get some of those cheap moving blankets from Harbor freight. They are under 10 bucks and can be used to line your hammock, place on the floor, or hung like curtains to make your tent smaller inside, wind proof and easier to heat.
And last with the sagging tent issues try lashing some poles together to firm a "T" post and use these inside to prop up the tent. They also work good as emergency firewood at 3 am.
Love you videos please keep them coming.
It great to see a normal guy who had the same crazy luck as most of us. I get tired of watching some of the other channels where the guy is more worried about how his hair looks on camera or they turn it into one long commercial for whatever equipment he's using.
We were poor kids and an old tarp or shower curtain worked for us along with some of my MomMaws quilts.
    Rock on Brother "Cheers"

Glad to see a realistic hot tent video. So many make it seem so warm and cozy in the worst conditions. I had a similar experience for my first winter camp. The thin ultralight hot tent did not hold the heat well even with the stove glowing red all night. It was a learning experience for sure. An insulated tent I think is a must in sun zero temps. That heat reflector peaked my interest. I have the heat activated fan for the stovetop that helps a lot too

An easy and lightweight way to add another layer of weather protection: take (4-6) emergency mylar space blankets and drape them from the inside roof, down to the floor, and under your floor tarp. It will help minimize heat loss.

  • @MAJJJJJJ

You know why it's so cold is that tent is so thin and big. If you had a smaller tent that stove wouldn't have to work so hard. and if you had a hot tent that stove would make the hot tent hotter beacuse of the thickness of the walls of the tent. Yeah more money to buy a hot tent or borrow from a friend that has one

You're a champ for camping in the arctic air we had for about a week. I love how happy you are out there. Just shows we all need nature in our lives to be happy and content. So if you're having a bad day just know that Jesus LOVES YOU but you need to go out in the woods and rub against all the evergreen trees and breathe in the natural anxiety relief that will release from the pine or evergreen needles You will feel better as you brush against them and breathe. You will feel much better when you leave. Get some big rocks and put them in a circle and build yourself a fire, build a rock wall with all your problems with each rock serving as your problem, and then knock them down to relieve the stress building up in you. I do this with my clients and it always helps them relieve stress.

Nice Video. looks like you had a great time.
You might want to consider a down hood on those below zero nights. I purchased mine off of the "A" store. Its made of Duck down and wraps around your neck and head. It also has a cinch strap that goes around your mouth if needed. I have survived bone chilling cold with mine.
I mainly use my Tigris Hammock tent for base camping . Then go on my expeditions from there . That said I tend to use the Enviro Logs for heat. They are made of compressed and waxed cardboard. They burn for hours so you wont have to get up many times at night to stoke the stove. Expensive maybe but no more cutting and processing firewood.
Also I don't remember seeing a spark arrestor for your stovepipe. You need that to prevent any embers from burning your tent . With mine it has loops on the bottom so you can stake it out so the pipe wont fall down under heavy wind.
    Hope this helps.

I was prepared. Gear failure maybe on the tents end! Its what you do next in the situation. You can sit in your bag or cut wood. You never know til you go! An you're never going to learn if you don't try!Definitely a small stove but some heat is better than no heat. I like to go out and struggle! Makes it funner otherwise might as well just be RV campers lol any who MERRY Christmas! Stay warm!

Awesome Awesome Awesome video as always MeGee! WOW, I can't believe you went out in those freezing 😳 temperatures yikes 😬 GEEZERS 😳!
You would have thought that the stove would have worked better hmmm. I could feel the cold 🥶 on you. You Poor thing you. But you are definitely the Man. Thanks for always showing that it can be done just gotta know when to get out. And I don't blame you at all for leaving so early GEEZERS it was below 😱0 yikes 😳.
Don't you have a hammock underquilt? I was just looking at one on Amazon for 40 bucks, it works with a double or a single hammock I think 🤔 that one is rated for 40 f to 60 f but they have the pro which is rated 20f to 40f which by having a sleeping bag that you can get into plus the underquilt should keep you nice and toasty, well at least you would think it would 😳 I think that might be my Christmas present for you but you definitely need a better Hot Tent, I really wish I could buy you a lot of things but I'm strapped right now also with the cash flow with Christmas and hospital bills and this house which seems like the money pit ugh I'm not kidding.
You may have to wait till February for me to send you anything my husband depleted the accounts ugh he said it's Christmas lol 😆 😅 😂 😜 anyway.
Anyway, I want to get you the warmer underquilt, not the cheaper one that your gonna be cold still.
    MERRY CHRISTMAS
    AND I HOPE
    YOU HAVE
    A VERY
    HAPPY NEW YEAR

I have a feeling that your gonna wish for a wood stove that is just a we-bit bigger than that one. Because of the amount of such bone chilling artic blast. I know. We live 5 miles from the Canadian Border in the very NW Part of Montana.

All that snow and cold will be here in Cleveland in the next few hours. It was 40 something today. And still is kinda warm. But it will be 0 by the time I get up at 6. My dog isn't going to want to be out there in the morning to do his business. 🥶...

Too bad they don't have some type of gasket plate to put on the pipe itself to narrow that gap at the chimney hole, those gasifier woodstoves can be awesome but I notice using fat lighter and wood that has moisture in it can clog them up real easy

Good video Megee. -31 degrees is brutal. I'm glad you camped out in your tent. I was wondering how the stove would keep the tent warm. I camped in my tent with stove a day before the freeze hit . it was about 30degree, my stove did keep the chill off. Glad you are ok with out frostbite. you are an inspiration to everyone. as always, i enjoy your videos.

Nice adventure (brrrr) thanks for sharing!!! You have to buy a pair of sunglasses in order to protect your eyes from the wooden branches!!! To pass your tent 1-2 hands every year with silicon oil makes the tent waterproof and more slippery!!!!
That i notice is that your tent has not bottom (paving) so the cold wind coming inside the tent from behind .... Maybe something should do about as well..... Can you imagine one tent inside the other? Think about ....
    Have good time every time!!!!
    Best regards from Hellas (Greece)
