Anyway, it's a very avant-garde art movement, just like XG's experimental and unconventional style. I love how XG are constantly evolving and breaking boundaries. They're truly a cut above the rest.

I think it's the opposite. Nowadays, everyone is soo used to this "fast living", we can onnly concentrate for 3 seconds and then we scroll for the next video, for children, movies are too long and boring because they cannot sit straight for 1.5 hours. I love the visuals and everything about this music video, except that we do not get the time to appreciate it. Way too fast, way too flashy. I hope they will change their editing style in the future because the materials they used for this were the masterpiece and now it's shadowed.

I am only criticizing that almost all shots were very flashy and shown very shortly. I think this is a case where the editing works in reverse, the shots being chaotic and crazy enhance the early jurin/harvey duo raps in both parts, they are meant to feel like an attack. Maya starts the slow down into chorus…but overall much like with our senses here the theme of the vid is the aliens overwhelm the planet like they overwhelm us. I think that feeling is meant to exist as a result.
The warriors, who are Jurin, Harvey, Cocona, and Harvey, are in a battle zone, so of course, their scenes/verses have chaotic editing compared to the goddesses, Juria, Chisa, and Hinata, who are calm but still destructive; it's like brains vs. brawns but if they worked together while still getting the job done. I’ve been an XG stan since Tippy Toes, and tbh the editing does get to me after awhile. I don’t have epilepsy, but it still makes me a bit ill to watch some of their more recent vids due to the hectic editing and over the top outfits. I still adore their music, but I might take a break on watching some of their MVs! (I miss actually seeing the girls! Not just seeing CGI surrounding them lol)

I love it! One of the best songs and videos. I will say, it is a little much to take in visually. Constant flashing and changing visuals, but it does make it very impactful and fits the music. The only reason I say it is too much is because there’s so much happening so fast that I can’t take it all in and appreciate the quality of every frame. I have watched it 20 times at least and on slow motion so I can appreciate all the hard work put into that visuals. Bravo. XG and their creative team is on another level always.

The editors used the intercutting of the two frames, one frame with her "action", and then the "reaction" of the people in the other shot. It's a super short segment, but they used each of those few seconds perfectly, and to an amazing effect. Switching quickly between the shots of Harvey and the "sheep" adds dynamic movement within a close-quarters scene and fills out the frame to make it feel even more immersive. The close-up of her expression and fangs showed how she enjoyed what she was doing, and the direction of the "chaotic" movements occupies the viewers interest well into it. The timing of the switches is so smart because it gives the effect of the viewer experiencing it with her. It makes us have to rewind to see just what all happened. The visuals' narrative for howling has paid off so well. (as well as their other music videos) I'm not sure why it irked me so much what you said there, because that sequence of the mv left a big impression on me. Xgalx with their past productions has made it clear what their style and niche is. The XGALX team have made their own brand-new style and it is solid... and extra ordinary. (clearly) *im just a nerd whos into this kinda stuff*
Too much I think is subjective, but IMO, I miss this kind of feeling when I watch MV... I mean we have some awesome visuals back then with MV, like Katy Perry's Wide Awake, or even in monochromatic Gaga's Bad Romance... I loved this!! I’ve loved XG for a while now but I have to admit I’ve been a little overwhelmed with their recent concepts😂 It’s amazing nonetheless but it’s nice to have a practical breakdown to help me digest their chaos. Again, I love their chaos, it’s part of what makes XG so amazing, unique, and out of this world.
The shots where new growth emerges with each step (6:45) is just like the forest spirit in Mononoke Hime when it walks towards Ashitaka. I love how much of this MV concept is inspired by Mononoke Hime. This MV is just perfection. Hauntingly beautiful.
Is there any 2024 music video that can top this in terms of graphics and storytelling? Nah. The editor and XG themselves should be grabbing Best MV awards at EVERY award show this year.

Thank you so much for this! They have been robbed of every award they deserve. Their performances were so sick. The choreos. The MVs. Their songs. Ever since they debuted, I knew that they would shake the asian music scene. And them in Coachella next year would prove to them that they have what it takes to be big.
The rapping, their talent, the concept, and these crazy visual truly deserve a lot more recognition.

I’ve been an XG stan since Tippy Toes, and tbh the editing does get to me after awhile. I don’t have epilepsy, but it still makes me a bit ill to watch some of their more recent vids due to the hectic editing and over the top outfits. I still adore their music, but I might take a break on watching some of their MVs! (I miss actually seeing the girls! Not just seeing CGI surrounding them lol)

I love it! One of the best songs and videos. I will say, it is a little much to take in visually. Constant flashing and changing visuals, but it does make it very impactful and fits the music. The only reason I say it is too much is because there’s so much happening so fast that I can’t take it all in and appreciate the quality of every frame. I have watched it 20 times at least and on slow motion so I can appreciate all the hard work put into that visuals. Bravo. XG and their creative team is on another level always.

WOW - I like this vid even more now ..... they are bringing nature back to earth, didnt understand that before but like you said - it's A LOT ! Now the earth image at the end make a lot of sense. The editors used the intercutting of the two frames, one frame with her "action", and then the "reaction" of the people in the other shot. It's a super short segment, but they used each of those few seconds perfectly, and to an amazing effect. Switching quickly between the shots of Harvey and the "sheep" adds dynamic movement within a close-quarters scene and fills out the frame to make it feel even more immersive. The close-up of her expression and fangs showed how she enjoyed what she was doing, and the direction of the "chaotic" movements occupies the viewers interest well into it. The timing of the switches is so smart because it gives the effect of the viewer experiencing it with her. It makes us have to rewind to see just what all happened. The visuals' narrative for howling has paid off so well. (as well as their other music videos)
I'm not sure why it irked me so much what you said there, because that sequence of the mv left a big impression on me. Xgalx with their past productions has made it clear what their style and niche is. The XGALX team have made their own brand-new style and it is solid... and extra ordinary. (clearly)

Too much I think is subjective, but IMO, I miss this kind of feeling when I watch MV... I mean we have some awesome visuals back then with MV, like Katy Perry's Wide Awake, or even in monochromatic Gaga's Bad Romance... Moreover, as a creative makeup artist, I need this kind of "out of the box" visual... Sure the transition is kinda overwhelming, but there's something about it that reawakens something in my passion of editing
No, it isn't too much, Harvey's scene was inspired by Ghost in the Shell. It is an older anime. She is standing on the roof, then inverted dive off the building, then breaks through the window, and draws down on everyone.

Tbh XG’s music videos consistently give me cult vibes which makes me a little uncomfy but I can definitely appreciate how much work and creativity goes into these. I do think the editing is too much though because even the slow parts have a ton of crazy visuals going on so you never really get a break. Just my opinion though.
